How should he be used? Let him shoot 10 3's per game? Or maybe let him drive from the 3 point land 10 times per game? Let him ISO 10 times per game? What is your solution?

Figure out a way to get him the ball in the crease. Even at full strength the pistons don’t have the ability to stop KAT in the paint without hacking him

They will hack him. He will flail and complain. No points will be put on the scoreboard. Next solution please

Towns is actually very very effective rolling to the hoop off of a PnR. We just never run those plays. For two reasons. One: he is terrible at setting screens and will pick up fouls.
Two: we have nobody on the team who can run PnR effectively

I don’t know how many people remember Robert Parrish but I swear everyone of his interviews stressed the importance of playing the full 48 minutes. Knicks would benefit from adopting that advice. They are not good enough to simply turn it on

If Brown wanted my advice he would severely limit Jose’s minutes when playing Detroit. He’d be better served playing sochan and mo against Cade than having Jose out there. Also he may want to consider belichek strategy of finding a way to better address the other teams best player. I mean honestly you stop Cade and you stop Detroit. Not saying that’s easy to do but the strategy is simple. I was hoping OG or Mikal was up to the task.

I’m honestly tired of Bridges.

I still have faith. He sort of was reason 1 that we beat Celts in playoffs.

Didn’t watch game. I think this seems right for me: I am not attached to team.

Yup. How I feel now.

This team is softer than a buttered Hawaiian roll wrapped in Charmin

Figure out a way to get him the ball in the crease. Even at full strength the pistons don’t have the ability to stop KAT in the paint without hacking him

That is for starters.

They always give KAT the ball in the exact same spot in three point land, maybe set a weak screen and it becomes (a) KAT drives to the basket looking like he has a washing machine tied to his waist, (b) jacks a three point, the majority of which now go clank or (c) Pass.

You almost never see KAT going from the side court in or criss-crossing the paint to find a place to stop and receive the ball already in mid-range where all he'd have to do is take a short mid-range bunnie or take one step and shoot away from defenders a la Bridges. He almost never stops and pops which at his size would be impossible to defend. It's stupid. It is either bombs away from way downtown or imitating a runaway train into triple coverage.

Just get him the ball while in stride FFS. That's what PnR's were invented for, to get people the ball close to the rim with less resistance.

This is all coaching fukkery at this point because Brunson is not really a PG at all and he'll go whole games without executing a single PnR. Have you ever seen a top PG go a whole game without executing a single PnR? No, you have not. Brunson is not a PG so this crap falls on Brown's shoulders and he has to be held accountable for not requiring Brunson to run such basic play action.

BlueKnickers @ 2/20/2026 9:15 PM
............ which leads me to the question:

Is the only to build a team around Brunson is to give the primary ball handling duties to a PG and slot Brunson as the off guard?

This may become Brunson's legacy if the Knicks don't figure out the answer to this question.

I cannot in good conscience say Brunson is a PG any longer. It's a fiction.

Either he has to change his game or they need to change the roster.

Nalod @ 2/20/2026 9:16 PM
Its easy to say but then who are the new guys that come in? Fresh meat fodder for new hate if they don't win?

Macri needs to love them? Ok, thats on him.
He makes a fair point but its his.
I spent $800 to buy 4 tickets to see team Sunday IN Chicago. Im want to be entertined and yes I expect a win.
Contrary to my participation rate the last 20 years on the UK I have a life. Knicks are part of it. I learned a valuable lesson in 1994. My youngest was born that spring and thus we were home bound thru the playoffs. KNicks make finals with Jordan either serving a suspension or working on his sociopath induced nervous breakdown and the window was open. The Dream proved better than Ewing and between OJ fucking simpson and John Starks/Pat riley that series hurt. Sleep deprived made it worse with my baby girl needing us. Bottom line was knicks win or lose don't put money in my pocket, nor affecgt my family in anyway. So why should I get worked up about it? So I don't anymore.

Im not transactonal about wins anymore. I'll enjoy them and face disappointment when they don't but its entertainment first and foremost.
As for Macri, he is a bright guy and building a nice business over the years. He has to have strong takes and no be bland like I am.
I used to take in more of his content but find a level of redundancy if I do.

Go knicks!!!!

Asking for a friend because every time he plays against us looks like an NBA legend.

Mitch is overrated.

I’ve always thought so but he’s ours until at least this summer.

Trying to think positively here…..

- Cade shoots low 30’s from 3 and tonight I think he hit 46%
- Cade took 34 shots to get his 42 (that is usually a good game plan)
- we shot mid 20’s from 3
- OG I give an excuse because 1st game back after long layoff (timing/touch could be off)

On the downside as I watch - Jalen has zero regard for getting ANYONE going - literally the only 1 he seems to see is Josh on the early break. Kat is an excuse waiting to happen, Mikal is like a soft cuddly bunny.

houston20 @ 2/21/2026 12:31 AM
This loss suck and there blame for everybody. Most of this team was still drunk from all star break. I don’t why Mitch kryptnite is Paul reed everybody else does fine with but his match up problems is with reed. There is no reason to panic like Jonathan macri you do that over reaction in the playoffs not regular season. I’m seeing to much over reaction in media and online social media it’s 1 game. I know the knicks should have won against the pistons and it sucks but I am going to reserve judgement playoff time for this team.

See, he is getting close to the same problem I and some others really have. It’s just a very unique situation where you know that on paper you have a very good team, but there is something about their attitude and mentality that’s not just wrong, but it’s so opposed to what you lived from teams before them, up to a few seasons ago, that really, in the end, makes them unlikable.

Our last run that got us to the Finals featured an injured team that overcame lots of hurdles before just running out of steam and succumbing to a better team. After that, many of our success has come from underrated teams that played with grit and passion, overachieving for their talent. The last team we had like that happened to be with Hartenstein and Donte, which is why some of the fans just can’t stop dreaming about a reunion. It’s not specifically about them, but about that hard-nosed, we-against-the-world attitude that Knicks fans love.

Now, this team is the most talented version most in our age have ever seen. They really are. But man, they are the equivalent of a genius that is jaded with the world and only gets to class enough to make you wonder if they are about to make history, only to revert back to slaking and letting you know why they are actually a loser. This team has EVERYTHING, but the right mentality and the right commitment.

Unfortunately, at least in my view, some of the main culprits won’t likely change their behavior. Maybe I’m not being fair to them, but to me the main culprits are KAT and Bridges. I always believe people can change, which keeps me from making these sort of assumptions, but I’ve lost any true hope in them. I hope they both can do just enough so that’s mostly them leading the way to a Giannis trade or whatever.

Bridges is just happy with his streak. Doesn't push it every game. Coasts most of the time. Can he cut to the hoop every time Towns has the ball at the 3 point line? Yes. Does he do it? No.I don't understand this for the life of me.

Acquiring Bridges capped this team's ability and set the franchise back.
