The clubhouse messaging should be: "We have one of the best shooting big men in the history of the NBA on our team and we all need to leverage his talent as a team."

Brown before the season got himself hired on “pace” — Knicks were going to press more and try to get more offensive possessions. Problem is we have a half court roster.

Good point.
Bridges is a very good off-ball runner and Hart is good at driving upcourt and finishing, but OG, Mitch, KAT and Brunson are very much half-court type of players.
Kolek is a willing passing and very good at outlet passes and in-stride feeds, but he plays a half-court game mostly because of the roster he's on.
Among the rest of the roster, I suppose Mo, Kevin and Huk could run as a second unit, but overall I'd agree this team runs mostly as a result of strips and forcing turnovers more than a general game plan.
Could Brown make them play with more pace? He did initially, but Brunson's habits reasserted themselves after the first month of the season and here we are.
It drives home the point then that the lack of PnR action is mindblowing. If you're primarily a half-court team then you should be utilizing the most basic weapon of the half-court offense and they simply do not.
Brown and Brunson own that issue. It is not KAT's fault.
P.S. Relying primarily on around the perimeter passing or penetration kick-outs as the basis for ball distribution is a failure of both discipline and imagination.
This team is often very weak at setting and playing off screens which every other top team seems to be better at.
Kurt Thomas must be proud.

Yep. Both big men often do better with Kolek feeding them than with Brunson.
