That said it would be great to give Kolek some time when maxey sits. (Btw maxey played the entire second half, I believe)

If og is out or hampered I expect to see more of sochan than diawara. A lot will depend on how hart is doing against Paul g.

Yeah this is a fair take and definitely worry for Brown. But man in the few minutes I did see of GTA, he struggled to make entry passes.

Miles needs to get his head out of his ass and Jose needs to ride pine. Shamet and clarkson were more effective

Og was huge, Jalen clutch and KAT was great when he wasn’t a dummy. Mikal played great d and hit his shots. Josh had a few series where he was scared to shoot but yet again after being hurt he comes in gets key rebounds and deflections and tough d on much longer Paul G

Josh was killing me with some bonehead plays and losing guys again on D after an AWESOME game 1. He did make some big passes on the break and big rebounds but his D overall took a big step back after almost heroic effort game 1.

Deuce needs to clean it up --- too many playoff spots where he shrinks or gets toasted defensively - Jose non factor last night. I do think both these cats could play big in Philly on the road.

If OG out I'd be tempted to throw Sochan in just to bring defensive mindset, hit the boards and just mix things up with an agitator (I don't expect that to happen but if OG down we are going to miss the physicality he's been bringing every night.

I know we joke about it a lot, but beginning of the 4th would have been a risk taking, genius level move by Brown that maybe Mazulla or Spoelstra would have pulled off to success for like 5+ min

What move are you suggesting above Martin? Kolek?

The Knicks were about to turn it over up 5, instead they got to reset, Brunson drew a foul and the Knicks went up seven. All the pressure went on Philly to score 3 times quick and get two stops, Knicks just had to run out the clock.

I'm thankful Philly didn't draw out the last 30 seconds fouling. Sorry guys who bet the over and the Knicks.

I thought it was the Mikal jump shot off of a couple of botched possessions I think to put us up 5.

Thought your play was huge as well - sometimes these guys have a guy trapped and on the ropes but instead bail him out with a foul.

Never mind - I caught up. Kolek.

I do remember Jose having huge coming out party down in Philly with like 8 3's so never know when guy might step up.

With Jose you can almost feel it right off the bat if he's going to be a positive agitator or a negative non-PG who can't put a fork in dribble.

He also overdribbles consuming time and disrupting flow and can’t shoot. Id much prefer clarkson or shamet. Clarkson contributes in a lot of ways and shamet brings length and can shoot

I missed the Clarkson minutes too. Was he not effective?

I thought he was effective. He is our only backcourt or wing who can reliably create his own shot (other than Brunson)

He finds a lot of ways to contribute. IIRC he missed a corner 3 and that’s the last I remember seeing him. Maybe brown thinks he’s too slow to stay in front of philly’s guards?

Yeah I wouldn’t count on Jose doing that again. It would be nice to see McBride step up and go on a tear. He’s very capable

OK talk to me about the Huk minutes. Was he straight awful? Unfortunate fouls? Too youthy?

Wish Huk could have gotten more burn in the regular season on the Mitch recovery days

I’m a Huk fan so my take is somewhat biased. I think it was too youthy and trying a touch too hard to make a big play/impact instead of doing his primary role at the time which was to contribute size and eat minutes. It was also during a stretch when the refs were particularly bad.

I hope it was a learning moment because I think we’ll need him going forward if teams are going to do the hack-a-Mitch

Does anyone think that Thibs looks at the Philly minutes distribution and leaves repeated voice text message to Nick Nurse

Burn those legs to the ground

martin @ 5/7/2026 8:13 AM
OG has too many muscles and maximizes them all and also overexerts them

Wish every game was a 25 point blowout win cause this game was not fun to watch with all the fouls. I'm honestly surprised we won giving how we reverted back to old bad habits and with that officiating crew. But we got serious when it was needed and suffocated them in the 4th quarter (12 points) and Brunson took over. That one iso move on Barlow where he crossed and spined back into a jumper was sick! Best footwork since Hakeem! And Mikal also hit some tough shots including that clutch jumper with time running out to extend the lead and his defense on Maxey was as good as can be. Maxey stopped trying to go iso on him and called for a pick after a while.

Prayers for OG! He's been playing so well and it would be a travesty if we lose him. You can kiss any chance of a championship or Finals goodbye if he's out. It goes to show you how difficult it is to win the whole thing. You need to play at your best and you need a lot of luck with the injuries. What worries me is that there is no update and he's had this hamstring injury before and it didn't go well. It sucks that durability is a big issue with this team regardless of the minutes of coach. Unfortunately we have key guys who don't seem capable of lasting through a long playoff run.

Frustrating game by KAT with the foul trouble. Some of those were touch fouls called by that POS Tony Brothers and Tyler Ford but still. He's got to set screens a lot cleaner and stop putting himself in risky situations where it gives those stupid zebras a chance to call those touch fouls cause when KAT was able to play, he dominated. Hart had his moments and hit a big three but had some bad turnovers and got frustrated by those idiot refs. Bench didn't do much and I know Hukporti isn't that good and it's a lot to ask for him to fill in for Mitch. I wish Leon got an experienced 3rd center at the deadline but oh well.

Disappointed in Mitch honestly. They showed him at shootaround and he didn't look sick. If you're going to "stand on business" you cannot sit out playoff games!

2-0 but it's not over. The OG injury really concerning.

Was just listening to the KFS post game. Apparently Clarkson has not hit a 3 since March 20 so he would be an easy target to do the old Josh Hart leave him defense and collapse and help on KAT/Brunson or anyone.

martin @ 5/7/2026 8:53 AM
Need more from Brunson, especially from 3point territory
