The Sixers have zero chemistry and SVG (who has the curse of thinking himself funny) admitted as much by repeatedly saying the Sixers had to have maxey or embiid effectively go iso to the hoop. No action, no passing, and no answers how to stop the Knicks
Thibs never played anyone 38mpg while he was here. But PHI looks tired because Embiid is done, PG is old and washed, and they have no bench. I dont think it has anything to do with MPG. We had a young team with Thibs and we did not look tired last playoffs.
We had a great run last year and should have made the finals, but Thibs never had this sort of depth. We made that KAT trade knowing it was going to deplete us and that we'd need an offseason to really replenish the bench and we did. Brown came into a great situation.

I got into so many arguments in past years for pointing out this exact thing. Thank goodness we are past that now.

Thibs never had a bench his final season but the claim isn’t totally meritless. Brown certainly managed minutes more cautiously than Thibs ever really did bench or not. Also Josh did play 37.5 mpg. But even if we totally discredit that argument, the anti Thibs argument is being proven not through the bench but through the play. The optimization of Towns as a hub, Brunson’s iso usage is down yet his production is still elite, the wing production on a nightly basis, and more than anything, the defensive scheming to hide the deficiencies of Towns and Brunson. Mike Brown’s defensive coaching has been absolutely elite during these playoffs. Maxey has been rendered a complete non factor. Truly amazing stuff.
Also last years run was fools gold. I said it then I’ll say it now. We were getting smoked the majority of the games we won, and relied on low probability late game heroics. Being down 10-20 in the second half and storming back to win a nailbiter is not the same as what we’re seeing now. Run that Detroit series back 10x we probably lose 8 or 9. That wasn’t stuff of a serious contender. It was fun and exhilarating though.

Sixers reddit. I think they are handling things well.
3rd Sixers Game in Attendance
I gotta say - the Knicks fans did a phenomenal job of making me fucking LOATHE them tonight.
Detroit better wipe the floor with these smug dirty players and shut up these obnoxious NY fans
Anyone else find it wild that the Sixers arena was playing "Party Rock" and dance music when we were down 15, just leading to more humiliation?
Been a diehard Sixers fan since the 90s and I can't remember ever being so embarrassed, This is beyond parody. Down 0-3 to the Knicks, their fans invading our arena, Robinson dunking on Joel, McCain going off in OKC when our bench is a huge problem... it's like I'm literally sitting on a chair in the corner of the room watching my girl get pounded. That's what this feels like.
I’m tired of seeing Embiid sprawled all over the court during almost every play.
fuck timothee chalamet
I came am in thinking maxey was def better than Brunson and went out thinking the exact opposite lol
Embiid’s playoff legacy is seriously gonna be that one year he beat the Celtics in the first round.
We are serious contenders and I think it's time we allow ourselves to start seriously believing it. To win 6 playoff games in a row is just unheard of!
So proud of this team! I know we won by 14 but it was a lot closer. George couldn't miss in the first quarter and we got down 20-8 and it was even a 4 point game in the 4th. Mikal! There is nobody more ridiculed by the fans and media than him and it's mostly because of what we gave up to get him but "fuck those picks!" We needed someone to step up with OG out and he had 23 points and his defense on Maxey in this series is stuff of legends! Maxey cannot get anything easy and kind of gave up at times and only ended up with 12 shots in 44 minutes!
Mitch's dunk on Embiid will be replayed forever. That was this generations "The Dunk" by Starks in 93. That had to feel so good for him to do it over Embiid and in the same spot where that dirty POS tried to injure him 2 years ago. And going 50% from the line was huge too! Shamet is such a pro! Has barely played the last few weeks and he came in and made an immediate impact and kept it close in the 1st. You need reliable vets like him on a team! Hard working double double by Hart and he made a huge layup in he 4th once they cut the lead down to 4. But he's got to start hitting that three again cause we'll need that! Clarkson made a clutch three with the shot clocking winding down. Deuce didn't do much but played excellent defense.
Disappointed in KAT in real time but looking back at some of those fouls, they were all such biased bullshit! Still ended up with 12 rebounds and 7 assists! It just sucks they are calling ticky tack fouls on him meanwhile Embiid gets to almost do whatever he wants. But KAT need to smile smiling after every foul cause it gets on my nerves!
Brunson owns Philly! 33 and 9! He is what Jordan was to us in the 90s. They don't have a 'Mikal' who can contain him and we should finish these guys off in a sweep! Respect to all the fans who invaded Xfinity! There is no other fanbase who does that at that level!

He made fun of Brunson's big head so fuck him.

I prefer suspension of disbelief, for now. It’s the hope that kills you.
Next series will be telling. If we can flip the script on a team that beat us by 30+ a night this year that would scream “this is not yesterday’s Knicks”.
I have huge optimism that Brown can scheme how to shut down their one-man band offense. Knicks playoff defense is just different. They will give Cade the Maxey treatment and force their mediocre scoring support to beat us. I like our chances.

If this team had on a different jersey with a different city name across the front, I would absolutly point to this team as a true championship contender this year....the blue and orange uni's and the history of the last 20 years or say has me optimistic but cautiously....
They don't have depth and when you pay big money you expect them to play,
Its not a "Thibs" thing. Its just a thing for the playoffs.
PG13 Looked like god in the 1st period. Then he got tired. Knicks did not give them open looks except for Oubre. they made life tough for Maxey and PG13!
Embiid is awful. The game 2 offensive foul when he had the ball and moved on the screen and just fell was "Must see TV".
In all they let them play last night and goodnes nobody got hurt!

My only concern for the rest of the series is that nobody gets injured.
Unless he’s a Lurch-looking piece of shit.
