Knicks · 2026 Draft (6/23 & 6/24) (page 13)

PatCummings @ 6/22/2026 11:59 PM
With the Diawara signing, I fully expect the Knicks to go over the 2nd apron and resign Mitch, Shamet and Alvarado. Assuming we bring McCullar and Huk back on low cost deals, we only have room for 1 draft pick. I’d take Zuby at 24 and trade 31 and 55 for future picks

But Plan B could tweak the roster and add more and upgraded young talent. The Knicks could make a concerted effort to play the youth to develop and assess them. If things work out we can then trade some of our veterans after next season to acquire more draft capital and to get under the 2nd apron a year early. The net effect is improving the team, increasing draft assets and giving us more flexibility to go over the 2nd apron if needed

My plan B draft
- Zuby at 24
- Trade Deuce for a late 20’s pick to grab Tarris Reed
- Trade 31, 55, Huk for a low 20’s pick for Ebuka Okorie

After the season, we can trade Mitch for a 1st knowing Reed is our backup C
We can trade Shamet and Alvarado for a couple of 2nd’s each

Our 2nd team in 27/28 would be:
Kolek/Okorie, McCullar, Diawara, Zuby, Reed and maybe Dadiet is ready to contribute as well

We’d have more picks next year from the trades to acquire more tslent

Why does Darynn Peterson look like he’s 30 years old?

Today is the day! Lets go get Zuby, Reed and Jayden Bradley!!!

Sign me up for that. But I don’t know if Reed is falling to 31. Nets moved up into the late 20’s and need a center

PatCummings @ 6/23/2026 10:15 AM
I’m making my final case for Zuby at 24

Here’s a combine comparison of Caleb Wilson, stud PF projected to go to the Bulls at 4. He’s described as a world class athlete with potentially the highest upside in the draft. And I don’t dispute any of that

But I can make a reasonable argument that Zuby is also a world class athlete with tremendous upside.

Check this out. Am I crazy to think Zuby can become a star who’s capable of defending 2-5, scoring in the paint and will put the work in to become a really good 3 pt shooter?

I would normally feel this is looking like a Steph Curry situation where the player we want probably get picked right before we do.

But Knicks have had a different mojo this year in terms of getting the breaks!!!

If Zuby & Reed do indeed jump ahead of the Knicks. That also means someone else that was projected to go higher may drop. Christian Anderson?

Joshua Jefferson is also a very intriguing prospect for us in our range as well. Providing another ball moving assist generator to create for OG & Mikal and continues to free up Brunson to move around off ball making him harder to guard. Jefferson has some very strong defensive analytics in college.

Combination of Jefferson & Bradley provide a lot of size, defense & ball movement to compliment the starting 5. Izaiyah Nelson is another one in the 2nd round to provide inside presence.

Quantance seems to be dropping. He’s the ultimate Mitch replacement with the potential to be one of the best defenders in the NBA. He was projected in the lottery for so long I never paid attention to him. St John’s was his first game back from the injury and in limited minutes he was dominant. Made life tough for Zuby. I have no idea what the injury situation is. Even if he needs another surgery and can’t play until next year, that’s fine

Zuby at 24 and Quaintance at 31? I’d sign up for thst

houston20 @ 6/23/2026 2:06 PM
My board is Chris Cenac, Tarris Reed, Isiah Evan’s, Maleek Thomas , Henri Vesler and Zuby in that order of the 6.
DLeethal @ 6/23/2026 3:05 PM
I want Tarris Reed as a Mitch replacement.

#31?

I think that's where the Knicks could risk it?

PatCummings @ 6/23/2026 3:29 PM
I want Zuby and one of Reed / Quantance. I’m willing to trade Deuce and Dadiet to make those things happen

100%. We don’t need him this season. Get that knee fixed and come back strong next season. We can afford to take the risk

Quintance has a 7’5.25” wingspan and hasn’t turned 19 yet. That would be a miracle if he fell into the 2nd rd

That would completely depend on medicals and if he is considered damaged goods depending on extent of the injury

im locked into zuby

help defense is something that is integral to the knicks defensive strategy and zuby covers so much ground and is an elite at being vertical. look at his dunks and how explosive he is off 2 feet.

then look at his 3pt mechanics. look at cam boozers mechanics from 3. they aren't even on the same planet. boozer shoots 3s like he is 6'5.

ppl just massively underrating zubys potential as a pro bc hes gonna be an old rookie.

quintace I would stay away from bc his defensive tape is great but it reminds me of James wiseman's defensive tape. I think that era for bigmen is dead you really gotta bring something else to the table.

Yes absolutely! Athletic big man with lottery talent but red flags. Mitchell Robinson 2.0 maybe.

SupremeCommander @ 6/23/2026 7:17 PM
Pretty excited for the draft this year. I don’t even care about who gets drafted. I just want to hear all about what other teams need to compete with us
Uptown @ 6/23/2026 8:25 PM
This is a really good and deep draft....I think Caleb Wilson has 1st pick talent...

I've seen every televised st johns game over the last 4 years...Pitino has done wonders developing Zubys game...each year he has shown gradual improvements. Low post moves, foot work, tje 3 point shot, and the most underrated part of his game is his passing. But. what really stands out about his game is his relentless motor
