Lefty, in shape Boris Diaw.
Lots of intriguing guys in the 20+ range.

Man, you could almost see this guy running things out of the same high post ala KAT with the second unit.
Sound him with Deuce, Shamet, OG, Mitch and watch out.

It's the second apron that is not sustainable. How do you trade Mikal and take back salary and extend Deuce?
You can extend KAT for a little less, Hart decline his team option and extend for less, and have Mitch on a descending contract, and we should be able to extend deuce in the MLE range (15M per year) and only go over the second apron for a year then drop back down. KAT and Harts extensions will be key. Do they want to give a little back to keep the core together ? If yes, great. If no, Bridges makes a lot more money than Deuce will so he makes sense to move, as long as we aren’t bringing as much money back. Once we get to the offseason I’ll do the breakdown. It’s very doable. We can keep the top 7 together and go over the second apron for next year but be able to drop below again.

Not trying to push any stereotypes here but, yes, he can shoot.

Texas keeps fooling me to the point that I am gun shy about their NBA draft prospects. Putting aside Durant and Aldridge, they have had a number of developmental beasts coming into the NBA. Guys like Kai Jones. Greg Brown. And they falter at the NBA level. I’m not trying to say “impossible” but I devalue Texas prospects a bit - perhaps they are raw but well coached in college and seem to struggle taking the next step in the NBA. Hard to analyze, but seems like a patter. FWIW, I felt similarly about Duke - coach k got the best out his guys, they often outperformed in college vs their NBA track records. Open to being proven wrong.

31 possibility

Joshua Jefferson is actually a really good fit for Philly there at 22 to pair with Maxey & VJ. Would need to jump ahead of them if he was a target. Detroit would want another ball handler to assist Cade. Can see a Bennett Stirtz being a target of theirs. They have the physical athletic to cover for a less athletic lead guard.

Always take the BPA. Especially in the 20s and early second round. Maybe package that 24 and 31 and move up for a guy in the teens.

I kind of want to find a way to nab Johnson & Jefferson

I'd be ecstatic with that draft

I think there is a high probability that we trade this years 1st for a future first. We will take a player we like with the 31st pick. 55th pick could be included in trade or we make that pick too. We seem to do fairly well with second round picks,
ramtour420@ 5/15/2026 6:43 PM
Seems like our Front office hasn't made a high pick in forever. Just taking way lower slots and actually those players have shown potential. Diawara.

I’d like to see the Knicks go for it somehow, get even youthier

How about this too early trade hypothetical: Deuce and #24 for GSW #11 to select Brayden Burries.
GSW get a 1 year cost controlled contract and potential starter or 6th man PoA defender who spaces beautifully next to Steph. They get a playoff ready starter/bench guy. GSW still gets another cost controlled contract on a mid 20s pick with a lot of interesting players still in draft. Maybe GSW gets more?
Steph, Deuce, Butler, Green, KP/Horford. Thats a couple of older but stout defenders with Steph. Deuce helps them space and suffocates with Butler.
Knicks get a smaller noggin but more athletic version of Brunson, so Brunson 2.0. Put Burries next to Brunson or Kolek. Let him just shoot and score. Let him be a ball handler next to Brunson. Surround him with Clarkson and Shamet. He plays defense. He has lots of time to grow and play right away.

Think GSW is in a spot where they are gonna look to someone that can help them now, but also with star potential for the future as they transition to the next era. Deuce could help them now, but lacks that star potential for the future. This draft is supposedly about 15 deep in potential star/all star they say. So at #11 they will probably look to nab one of those.
Or completely pivot from that and trade it for a proven allstar. Sabonis?

Yeah, it’ll come down to how much GS wants to keep the Steph Curry train going. Deuce still only 25 so that’s perhaps filling 2 simultaneous goals with 1 guy. Can’t really ever trust a rookie to immediately contribute first whole season and then playoffs right away versus a proven PoA defender and can also get you 7-9 in the first quarter from everywhere, and that helps Steph and Butler and KP.
