Shout out to the die-hards that endured the years, decades of the LOL Knicks...For the Day one's that stayed the course while watching Layden hand out multi year contracts to washed, former Utah Jazz players! Watching Isiah trade two first round picks for Eddy Curry, the worst defensive center in the league that was allergic to rebounds, after we already signed Jerome James. For those that hoped aginast the odds that Jackie Butler, Anthony Randolph or Qyntell Woods could develop into something....

This is for those organizing protests in front of MSG to force Dolan to sell the team! Hoping that Walsh or Mills would finally get it right and just help us be respectable.

For those that got hyped while watching Channing Frye, David Lee and Nate and later on, Kevin Knox in summer league which was more exciting than watching anything through the regular season. For those hoping that Lexy Shved was the answer at pg.

For those that stuck around when LeBron spurned us for South Beach! When Durant told us we weren’t cool enough for the elite to sign here…

We are on a generational run....Putting up numbers in the playoffs never seen before. If any fan-base ever deservded this, its us!!! The job aint done, but tonight, we celebrate!!!!

Wish I could have been here the whole time but, glad I got here when I did. Winning changes everything. I remember being on ESPN boards 20 years ago. Then the post bombs and the trolls were unbearable. The Knicks were terrible. It was a shit show. How much misery we have all suffered through before this last few years seems like a lifetime ago. It wasn't.

14 different HC changes. Almost as many GMs. Failed trades. No PG. Absolute dog shit rosters. We have suffered through the worst teams in the league for decades. I'm not ever gonna forget what it was but, what it is now is something we have NEVER seen before.

Hopefully this run is the one. It's been a great ride so far and I'm ready to go the rest of the way with you guys. Four more wins!! Let's fucking go!!

Then there was the year the new cba gave teams a one time amnesty to waive a player and not have his salarybcount against the cap and we wasted it on Baron Davis when Stat was breaking down and talking about soaking in wine baths

The "Allan Houstan rule" was used to stretch Jerome "junkyard Dog" Williams.

Anthony Roberson never made more than 750k in his career. He played 23 games, about 250 min, or about 10min a game. February 19, 2009: Traded by the New York Knicks with Jerome James and Tim Thomas to the Chicago Bulls for Larry Hughes. This was a insignificant trade dpne in MDA's first season by Donnie Walsh who was assigned the job of cleaning up the mess made by Isiah. Larry Hughes played 56 games over two seasons, about 25min a game, started half, avg 10pts and was a good defender.

Things were not good those years. We had traded Quinton Richardson for Darko Milicic lasting all of 8 games and then traded to Minny for brian Cardinal. Im guessing it was a salary dump.

Darko career was almost 10 eyars, avg almost 17ppg and 8 rebs. He made 53mil in his NBA career! Trade for Brian Cardinal whom we waived right away.

Walsh did not do anything great but he did clean some crap out.

That's the beauty of it. Everyone who has been apart of this Knicks journey has a place.

I will say Marbury also isn't just a front runner trying to reclaim relevance. He never stopped being a Knicks fan even if he couldn't get it done as a player.

Team also wasn't built properly for him to succeed. His game was to attack the paint and then create for others off of that. Lane cloggers like Curry & Randolph etc only limited that. We also had no 3&D type of players. Majority of the players added needed the ball to be effective and didn't do much else outside of having the ball in their hands.

In comparison. Marbury with Hart, Mikal, OG, Towns would probably have had the success of last years Knicks. Marbury is actually a better shot creator for others than Brunson as well. But the cap would be what Brunson was willing to do this playoffs in changing his style to be more off ball elevating the team to new heights. I can't see Marbury making that adjustment.

Marbury was a supremely talented guard for his era. NYC kid, arrogant, and could light it up. True Coney Island kid with attitude. No doubt can see how NYC loved him.

Starbury got to his head. could not get along with his teammates. Wanted his own team in Minny. Nope, got traded. could not see his place as "Robin" to what became HOF KG. To his credit he has admitted regret leaving. Nets? "All Alone". Same thing, and one wonders if he could have done similar to what Kidd did with them. That team did become really good! The Suns, not a good look for him. Layden did not do the trade and might have been fired for it. Its the first thing Isiah did. Give the keys to a player entering his decline and build him up. Isiah was going to mentor this kid?
He could still play but things got wackey. Maybe it was the weed? Ego? The olympics? Kid could score but not play team ball. Was asked to leave. Larry Brown could coach but not that group. "Get in the truck?"

Marbles. The decline was fast and swift. His game fell apart. Even when in shape he could not produce then became a disruption asked to not even show up. It was a bad divorce. The guy has a big heart,, not evil. Community minded and NY kid in a good way. That his game fell off so fast was very suprising. Boston took him after a buy out and he did not do well there either.

This kid had twice the talent of Brunson but not the work ethic nor was grounded/built for it. Marbury had a playful demenar but not serious enough to gain respect as a leader nor did he refine his game to fundamentals as he got older. His game did not evolve.

I don't think he succeeds under Thibs and that group last year as he not demonstrated enough leadership to face adversity as a floor leader. In prime Marbury had the talent but not the intangibles to go higher.

Marbury is a little boy who grew up in Brooklyn who happened to play for the Knicks once.

He can root for the team he grew up with. It doesn't bother me.
