It truly was.

I don’t watch the games at this level and there is so much to learn and the presentation is top notch IMO

That is such a great image. I love all of KAT's NYK gear since he's been here. No one has embraced being a Knick as much as him...although Jose gotta be close!

I'm assuming we've all rewatched Game 4 more than Game 5 (or at least the final minutes), but I'm trying to balance it out a bit!

Two of the most significant celebrations in my life! (I'll keep it a top 5 to keep my wife happy, but I won't share the ranking!)

Any more kids and you will need to make some tough decisions on Top 5

There'll be some extra leeway when little Jalen is born.

Ha! I've watched the 4th qtr of game 4 and the last half of 4th qtr of game 5 about a half dozen times each....usually back to back FForwarding thru commercials. Still get goosebumps and choked up each time.

Yeah good call. 2 for 1 at least.

Having just watched it "AGAIN" its really funny now Breen kind of lost his neutral stance for the national audiance and got excited as the game went on. Not just as a ESPN guy but a knick fan! Must have grated on Spurs fans or anyone rooting against knicks.

The 2026 NBA Finals between the New York Knicks and San Antonio Spurs averaged 20.6 million viewers across ABC and ESPN. This marked the highest-rated and most-watched NBA Finals since 1998, doubling viewership from the 2025 championship series.

While many are not thrilled with the CBA/Apron limits parity does prevent dynasties and in some ways did help ratings and knicks!

1. Ratings: We not getting year to year same teams in finals. It keeps it fresh. This series was Wemby's first thrust into the spotlight and there are a lot of young Wemby fans out there. Yes, kids like Wemby. The name is friendly sounding? LOL....
Not my idea but I read knicks kind of became "Americas team". Given the ratings and the amount of fans that traveled to road games it sort of felt that way? Also a curiousity of Brunson and the hype around him was a big deal.

2. MY thoughts........Parity and the "it Team". Each year it gets harder to predict order and teams thru the season do thrive. Indy the year before surged in the second half of the season and took OKC to 7 games! Also because of the APRON it kind of opened the window for knicks. Lets just say Tatum did not get hurt and Boston was able to run it back without penalty? Maybe that team does not faulter a bit? Maybe if cleveland had more room it could had added more depth? Fact was window was open and because we were able to nurse Mitch a bit thru the year on an expiring and we got deep, we became "The It Team" when it mattered most!

Even out west things were not cut and dry. OKC should have been a slam dunk to repeat, Minny and Denver were no slouches and perhaps SAS don't make it if the other teams could have spent more? WE got KAT at a good price because of tax contraints!

Im not complaining or predicting. It still boggles the mind how many years Dolan and Co. squandered the economic advantages thru starphuching and in the end "Parity" became our friend!

It was a really nice season with a glorious-historic ending!

Fair point about how the apron rules helped us get KAT. I would argue that poor management and coaching in MIN was also a factor because they could have moved on from Gobert instead. Still, if they weren't against the apron rules they may not have made the deal at all. So, technically it's a in for us.

Those ratings are because the Knicks were in he finals plus a lot of hate watching. Add in the French crowd and people who just wanted to see Wemby play as well. I don't think it has anything to do with the apron rules because we had parity the previous 6 years as well.

The apron rules should not include drafted players IMO. We would have been able to keep Mitch because we drafted him. Deuce is up for a raise and we may lose him too. That's punishment for drafting well. MIN would not have had to trade KAT. Things would be a lot different.

The rules have not been thought through IMO. Thankfully it worked in our favor but. as I mentioned, MIN didn't really have to trade KAT to begin with. Lucky us on multiple fronts. Unlucky us on others. Double edged sword.

It was an amazing and history making run. One of the best playoff teams in the history of the NBA!! We finally made it back. We finally won!! I will never forget this team and this run. We are the champions!!!!!!
