barf... hell no. rather Huk at that point and I think Huk sucks TBH.

exactly what we don't want. we need someone with good enough feet to at least slow things down at the perimeter. I'm happy guy has gotten his FT over 50% and shoots threes, but honestly we need someone under the rim not out at the 3 pt line
imo there is a small but narrow path that mitch can be back.
it'll involve 5 assumptions
1/ kat agrees to a lower starting extension in 2027-2028 than his 2026 base salary
2/ josh hart agrees to a 5 year deal with a lower aav. we might have to play crazy hard ball with him. On the open market in 2027 or 2028 Hart might not command 15mm aav.
3/ second apron will go up at max %
4/ mitch's FA market today tops out at 10-13m
5/ you accept that you will be a second apron team in 2026-2027; with the expressed goal that you wont be a second apron team in 2027-2028
if those things all are assumable to be true, there's a path where mitch gets a 10-13m aav deal where in 2027 the knicks wont have to make any significant trades (other than dumping Alvarado perhaps) and making a lot of 2nd round draft picks/vet mins onto the team while being under the second apron.
but if mitch is fielding 15mm aav offers, there's no point. just get a vet min backup C.

and bubble wrap him like we did Mitch. Play Huk more.
KP healthy for playoffs giving us 15mpg with length, rim protection and floor spacing could end up being even better.

My theory is the Knicks will address the backup center position temporarily with Looney/ Hukporti or whatever, but the real backup center will be picked up at the trade deadline by using Dadiet’s contract for example. Much easier to get a vet center for matching salary and second round picks then. Knicks loaded up on second round picks for a reason. Unless the ideal center is on the market now, expect an Alvarado-type trade at the deadline for the center. Until then it’s just getting guys who can eat up some minutes for the first half of the year.
Some of you guys sure do love oft-injured centers.

Slot them next to an emotionally unstable power forward, and now we're talking!

The Nets have the money.
That’d be pretty fucking weird seeing Julius and Mitch wearing black and white in the Garden.

Don't you need a time machine to travel back into the 19th century to do that?

at this point I have to conclude he's just trolling with his suggestions.
Trade 2 2nds Moussa Diabate.
Makes sense for both teams. With the mins crunch of Reid, Kalkbrenner, Stienbech, Grant Williams, Salaun
Diabate in a contract year doesn't seem like he holds a future with the Hornets.
For the Knicks hes a 4 year vet with solid prodution, vet min salary, still has upside.
Been waiting for someone to do the math

Should've traded a couple more of those picks for cash considerations!

Nets do that and then trade for RJ and Quickley, they probably get a bigger fan base than they've ever had.
I'm only half kidding.
