What is it?

Is he mellow like a purring cat?
Does he glide around the floor like a swan?
Are the soles of his feet made of memory foam and his footsteps are silent?
Is his game so buttery smooth you barely notice he's out there until he's at the rim?
What is it about Pacome Dadiet that makes me feel like he's a soft down pillow wearing a Knicks uniform?

well he is French!

Have you ever been to France? lol

Midway through the 2nd quarter of game 2, Nickel is the only reliable source of goodness this SL

Otherwise, this squad has mostly been scrublicious

fitzfarm @ 7/11/2026 6:51 PM
That guy ware is terrible… let’s see some other guys

🤣

Knicks SL team is so bad. No guards or bigs. Just a bunch of wings and forwards who need to play off the ball. If Nickel couldn’t shoot like this, Knicks might not score 30 ppg.

And it is not like Kayil stepped on the court and anything changed. He looks like another wandering minstrel out there playing his flute and scratching his balls

If this continues throughout SL, Nickel is getting a full contract and taking Mo's minutes in the rotation

Yeah, yeah, I know Mo is playing in sub-optimal conditions, but he's just not ready for primetime yet. Nickel is

BlueKnickers @ 7/11/2026 7:43 PM
Nickel clearly understands the game well and knows where his teammates need to be on the floor.

His court awareness on defense has been fairly impressive, not just his positioning on offense.

Guys like this who are very coachable often end up becoming the coach's proxy on the floor, the guy you see the coach whispering into their ear between plays.

Kayil’s scouting report was pretty telling. He’s a jack of all trades combo guard. He’s not a playmaker. His value will be either playing the 2 next to an elite guard like brunson, or playing the 1 next to a playmaking wing. He profiles as a glue guy if things work out.

Just a garbage team out there. Really hard to watch and I'm not too impressed with anyone outside of Nickel hitting some shots. Diawara looks like he took a step back. Dadiet is boring.

Man this summer league team is unwatchable

I think SL has been eye-opening for Diawara. But clearly his role is more suited to compliment others. His SL role is for experience. As far as Nickel, I’m sold. He’s a sniper and he’s aggressive defensively. He has an edge. I think he’s a keeper.

Chandler @ 7/11/2026 8:22 PM
FWIW when we had mock trials we would say the goal is not to win so much as to learn

SL we need to learn what we have, what they can do, etc. A little disappointed that Mo can't assert himself against this level of talent, but that's not necessarily terrible. It will be sometime before he's expected to do that. For now he needs to hurt (NBA) opponents when they ignore him and when the opportunity presents itself.

Dadiet is still a kid and very deferential, team-oriented. Only 20

(K)Nickel came in with the right attitude. "Hey I'm a mid-second rounder, I better show them I can shoot if I expect to stick around"

Don’t know which is better, pass or cut

I can’t quite tell why this guy fell to #47?

Squarely in the 'summer league doesn't mean ****" camp. Certainly not any sort of factor of who's ready for prime time...unless we're looking back fondly at franchise legends Kevin Knox and Anthony Roberson.

But also means we don't get to write off what Mo did against actual NBA players because of a lackluster start on a bad team. This is such a silo of an environment, and unlike a majority of guys playing, Mo has just gotten job security. There is nothing he can do here that will outweigh what he does in training camp or even practice with the big league team.

Hope Nickel keeps hitting though. Need something to cheer for.
