DeMar DeRozen DeWaived from Sac.........

He the new Clarkson? Chase the Ring that eluded him in Toronto?
Or, he bound for Los Angeles to finish back home?

Knixkik @ 7/6/2026 3:23 PM
It would be tough to come here as it doesn’t look like big minutes will be available. Seems like the lakers are a good fit to get a ton of shots off the bench.

Would he start with Hart off the bench?

Hart is probably a better overall player so Hart should continue to start in this scenario.

THinking in the Clarkson role off the bench?
EwingsGlass @ 7/6/2026 4:31 PM
Derozan is an interesting player. He’s highly inefficient. Isn’t great on defense. Like Clarkson, he is a high volume shooter that gets his stats in volume not efficiency. Clarkson surprised me by making his game a hustle game. One of effort. I’m curious if DD can do the same thing. You get a scorer for the second unit at the cost of efficiency. Hart is actually the better three point shooter :)

Clarkson isn’t a full time rotation player here. He’s really our 10th or 11th man depending on the development of Diawara.

Hard no.

Disrupt the offense, take away from the defense, less time for the yutes (Dadiet Mo Nickel MCullar) and Shamet.

im with this!!

JC did not wilt, which was crucial. He's a fighter. Don't gamble with that chemistry for all of the reasons Martin states

This

Doesn't fit into this roster well

And he does not shoot the three at all

When we need interior buckets, we'll go to KAT or a pull-up by Bridges, in the paint with Drummond or drives by Mo, etc, etc, etc

I'd take back Clarkson before signing Derozan

Exactly. You can tell he bought into the system and, although he has some bone headed plays on defense, the effort was always there.

Derozan is an interesting player … super talent when it comes to offense and slowing down the game . Off the bench I like in ways .

But his game since leaving Toronto has never led to wins …NEVER . He gets his pts . He plays zero defense and honestly it looks like his teammates hate playing with him…

Those are just my concerns and they could be wrong …

Off the bench on a vet minimum, you can’t get a more talented player, minus LeBron.

After hearing what Diawara said about JC I think you sign him.

Josh was number 16 in the league last season on 3P%! Straight up sniper.

I feel like DeRozan has been a waste of a career. Seems like the kind of guy who could have been a playoff legend over the past 5 years as defenses locked up on 3 point shooters and kept a big tied to the rim to prevent layups. Instead he's been stuck on ass teams. Hopefully the money keeps him happy.

DD is a dinosaur type of player. The era he's in has passed him by. At his age there are going to be limited opportunities left for him. If you're a shooter looking to land somewhere on a vet minimum, most clubs will want a three point shot in your bag. At one time, he was a bucket and hard to stop in the mid-range, but he has the wrong specialty these days.

Not excited about Derozan. He’s not a good three point shooter and defender. Has always relied on athleticism and ball hoggery to get points and now he’s going to be 37 next season. Could mess with team chemistry.

DD is the Mitch Robinson of 3 point shooters?

SergioNYK @ 7/7/2026 9:07 AM
DeRozan is not what we need.

Sign another Center and bring back Clarkson and let's run it back!

SupremeCommander @ 7/7/2026 11:03 AM
if DeRozan is willing to accept Clarkson's role--I don't see how anyone wouldn't want this. We need another Center. I feel like getting DD allows for Deuce (or similar) to be traded for a quality big

The team needs to change from last year because Mitch is gone. If everything stays the same we will have a massive black hole on the roster when KAT gets into foul trouble

BigDaddyG @ 7/7/2026 11:43 AM
I like it. DeRozan showed he could take on the playmaking role in the high post with San Antonio.. I think would super charge out second unit. The lack of a three pointer would be less of an issue if he's flanked by Landry, Deuce
