Did anyone see anything he did last year on the network?
I know it was very limited but he was more "out there" being less guarded for a bit. Then nothing.
I remember them promoting him joining the NBC team, then it turned out to be that they got one interview from him that they sporadically aired bits during broadcasts.
They definitely oversold his role.
But who knows, he can retire from NBC now and rejoin them in a year...
IM thinking the role might require talking about other players and offering accolades?
Maybe Mike just can't do that?
I remember like the first week of the season then nothing. He didn't look like the Jordan of old in my opinion.

How was MJ not voted to start allstar game, and BUlls fans 25 years ago relevent to this latest NBC announcement he was not returning?
MJ is still an iconic brand and was seen as a draw. My guess is his present persona is not charasmiatic as his legend? I think there was a demand after the documentary where he talked mostly about himself. It was a show about him so it was great. In the present situation was he asked to talk about current teams/players/news and have a take?
So the thread is about:
1. NBC thinking they had a ratings draw.
2. Jordan thinking he could be a personality.

I truly am sorry I discussed Michael Jordan in a thread you started about Michael Jordan. Jordan declining popularity? No shit, he don't play anymore, but he is talked about often, and his brand sells 60 million pairs of Nike ANNUALLY.
About 7 billion worth gross sales. Makes a quarter of a billion annually just from Nike sales.
