saying he lied about not knowing. Seems Brown has a habbit of just being an annoying and fact is Celts wanted out.
That might sting a bit but leave it alone. Perhaps Tatum did know. Out of respect, perhaps saying he did not know was his way of not insulting? Like if he said he knew then it looks he wanted him gone too. But to stay neutral its not big thing. Brown now keeps drawing attention. Best thing is just keep balling and move on and be happy. He outplayed his draft status,, is an finals MVP, and super wealthy. On tradk for a HOF career. He appears super intelligent until this petty shit keeps seeping out. Not its floated he wanted out of Boston?

The only thing I care about is he infects the Sixers locker room with Emboliida and their team implodes on themselves.

That I'm more anti-Philly than Boston is a tribute to Embiid's ability to annoy the fck out of me

I hear you. Embiid as villian no. 1 was easy. his sloppy play and lazy dangerous play has a way of drawing fans in. To some extent I was impressed the bells palsy series as he played thru it. That took grit. The whining and complaining to refs used to really bother me until i came to understand KAT was not too far behind.

There is no world where I'd ever even for a moment root for philly over knicks. Jalen Brown issues are not knick related so I really don't care what he does. As you know I do respect Lebron and if Embiid can clean up his act and play to his potential again, but not be such a douche I could see slighty pulling for Phila over say Wemby and SAS. Now if both are going to play each other like a old timey Texas cage wrestling match and both bleed out that could be fun too.
Lebron in vs. 2016 finals over the 73 win Warriors was an incredible feat. This was post Heatles which like many really got under my skin at the time. 2016 perofmance really earned my respect and over 20 years he has matured. Kobe did and if we allowed him some grace over his arrogance and rape, we can with Lebron and his. No rape. Married to his HS sweethart, no dramas, and raised his kids. Othter than the awful "decision" I can't find too much to hate him for off the court.

The number of week 1 injuries is crazy.

To be fair to Kobe, the rape accusation did not hold up in court. I want every woman to get justice if that is done to them, but it also one of the easier accusations to make without proof so you do have to rely on an imperfect justice system to sort those cases out. Since he was acquitted, I have to also give Kobe the benefit of the doubt, because he was otherwise known for working out at 4 am, not cavorting in clubs at night like other players. The Weinsteins, Cosbys, Epsteins and Trumps of this world with dozens of accounts of sexual account solidifies their reputations as rapists which is quite different.

What the heck

I didn’t see your comment at first, and I was going to reply simply “A legend.”

It’s appropriate to double up the legend comment, he was that good. Plus he had to deal with Chuckles all those years

Was it Warren Buffet who said if you want to get into the business of selling Nachos, buy a basketball team first?

Rules were diffreent and his accouser could not go on with a public trail. So she dropped it. Never was a criminal trail. So your wrong to say it did not hold up. She caved under the pressure. The civil suit was settled out of court. so she got some money and moved on.

When he was first arrested, Kobe insisted he had not had sex with the woman.

But when he was told the alleged victim had undergone a physical examination, he admitted they had had sex - but insisted it was consensual.

His accuser had bruises on her neck and Kobe admitted he had 'strangled' her and that this was his "thing", although he stressed he had never done this to his wife, Vanessa.

There was also blood on the accuser's underwear and on Kobe's shirt and he confessed he hadn't specifically asked her for consent.
Bryant’s Statement: Following the dismissal, Bryant issued a public statement apologizing to the woman, stating: "Although I truly believe this encounter between us was consensual, I recognize now that she did not and does not view this incident in the same way… I now understand how sincerely she feels she did not consent to this encounter".

Then a civil suit followed: Out-of-Court Settlement: The accuser also filed a separate civil lawsuit against Bryant. In March 2005, the civil suit was settled out of court with a financial payment to the plaintiff and a confidentiality/nondisclosure agreement.

He bought his wife a 4mm ring and they seperated for some time. He publically admited his adulturous ways and aplogised in front of the world. I give him credit for growing up and owning up to it. He fucked up. He paid a hard price in his marriage and because was honest the public forgave him. Vanessa took him back.

Their settlement made public:

Kobe Bryant and Vanessa Bryant reached a divorce settlement in January 2012 before calling off the divorce and reconciling a year later in January 2013.

Settlement Terms (January 2012)

• Financial Payout: Vanessa Bryant was set to receive approximately $75 million, representing half of their estimated $150 million in total assets.
• Real Estate: Vanessa was awarded a clean sweep of all three Newport Beach mansions, including their primary residence, her mother's residence, and a newly completed estate under construction.
• No Prenup: The split mirrored the absence of a prenuptial agreement from their April 2001 marriage.

Reconciliation (January 2013)

• Dismissed Filing: In January 2013, the couple announced via social media that they had called off the divorce and dismissed the legal action.
• Remaining Together: They stayed together until Kobe Bryant's passing in January 2020

.This guy who was very hard to coach, stubborn, and cost lakers one or two rings with ego. He even asked out to be traded. Yet Lebron gets killed for "the desision." He even went back to cavs eating some shit from Gilbert and delivered on a promise in the form of a chip to cleveland.

KObe grew up, made good on promises and matured. I give him a lot of props for it. Vanessa did not give him the benefit of the doubt. They reconciled but she got her freedom and security. In time He owned his flaws that destroyed his family and appered to make good on the marriage.

Lebrons crime? Using player empowerment to his advantage when those before him could not.
