Good game and tough loss and another one we could have won. Just not finishing games early in the season. That put back by LeBum was bad luck. We forced Maxey into a tough shot and he just missed it perfectly for that POS right there to put it back in. Also hit a tough one over OG. Simons (21 points on 5/8 from three) killed us all game too. We missed soooo many open looks and bunnies. 93 points on 41% and 13/41 from three isn't gonna cut it on the road but it's early and the offense will come.

Glad we got that championship to tide me over for the next 53 years.

Meh. I didn't think it was a good game at all. It was close in spite of the Knicks looking very ordinary. They have no flow, and no identity. Not playing like a team at all, just disparate parts. Very mediocre.
Its astounding how mediocre they look during the season and then flip a switch in the playoffs.

I disagree, we are upper mediocre. There will be nights when there’s a lid on the basket but the lazy turnovers are are inexcusable. Very alarming how Philly decided to impose their will and we had no answer.

I don’t think this is our ceiling or our floor, but just like last year, we are upper mediocre. Philly again was able to impose its will with little resistance- also you can see LeBron’s eyes light up when he gets Bridges switched onto him. Bridges is no physical match and Lebron is playing bully ball this year

*edited to say - you can also see Bridges sh@t himself a little when he has to guard Lebron. Lebron is beating the crap out of him and you that hurts in an oh crap not again kind of way

That was the story of last season.

Flipping switches in the playoffs isn't worth betting on.

If our identity is not going to be based on defense it will be a long and frustrating season for everyone.

Right now that identity is AWOL.

Ok, Lebron was impressive. Fucker does whats needed. Bully ball, can still fly, and a genetic wonder.
Philly? Lebron is the muse and carries them.
Does the team not have the same sense of urgency? The burning desire to do what it takes to get there? Knowing they have another gear but not diving in deep? Would not be the first team that it happend to. I think its why repeats and threepeats are really special.
How the team moves thru the season will be interesting no doubt.
Nalod is finding the whole thing really weird too. I mean Im good. No pick right? so what. Bridges bothersome? Naw, he a Champ.
Leon created this, he'll do what is needed.
Dolan? What a petulant little cunt he still is. Winnig the last 5 years has diluted the effect.

Brunson, OG, and Mikal have all been awful / very substandard and our shooters haven't been very good either. Not really worth evaluating yet. This team showed us last year they can be a frustrating regular season team and still win a championship. Don't think they are ever going to be a dominant regular season team. They've also started slow every year.

Schedule softens up in a big way soon, I expect them to rattle off 6+ wins in a row and get momentum and then things will feel normal again. But 48-50 wins and a 4-5 seed is definitely in the cards this year. Just a lot of better teams this year.

In some ways, given how poorly everyone has played besides KAT, the fact that we've been in many of these games against the east's elite shows how good this team is.

That playoff run was different than we've ever seen. They dug themselves out of more holes than a gravedigger working for the mob. All of those comebacks were definitely morale crushing losses for their opponents.

It could be this team just doesn't have the collective temperament to apply themselves full-time until their season is on the line. If that is the case, then they will enter the playoffs in a lower bracket and we'll see if they have it in them to do crazy stuff like they did again.

You can't bet against them doing it, because you would have lost last playoffs doing so. But it also feels hard to bet on them capturing lightning in a bottle a second time if they are losing to the best teams during the regular season on a regular basis.

The Eastern conference got harder, not easier, that's for sure.

I just want the 6th seed and to avoid the stupid play-in nonsense

Rockets repeated as a 6th seed. So can we.

The reason the Rockets were seeded so low in the first place was a combination of injuries and mid-season upheaval. As the defending 1994 champions, they struggled early in the season. Seeking a spark, the front office executed a blockbuster trade in February to acquire veteran star Clyde Drexler, reuniting him with his former college teammate Olajuwon. Integrating a major piece mid-season disrupted their rhythm, resulting in a relatively pedestrian 47-35 finish. However, by the time the playoffs began, the new roster had finally clicked.
