Knicks · Ike measures up.... (page 2)

just heads up... this thread isnt about me wanting to draft Ike per say. He is a player I like alot, but this is about NOT passing up a guy like him if he's the BPA JUST because of our current roster. Unlike Sweetney who really isnt a poor man's Elton Brand, Ike does have the wingspan of a guy OVER 7 feet tall and a strong athletic build to go with it. He's just about 6'9 in shoes with a 7'4 wingspan and a great post game to go with a KT like jumper and ferocious rebounding.

Exactly!

make that:
0 centers
2 guards
0 SGs

I was very encouraged by jamal's play at the end of the season. If he follows through training wise, he's our 2 guard, no iffs ands or buts.

We need another SG and another PG. I am personally in favor of going after Antonio daniels with our MLE and bringing Nate Mcmillan with him and drafting Nate Robinson at 30. that would leave us with 3 primary guards who have versatility and 1 extremely athletic ball hawk who can press tempo both ways.
Hey isn't Butler a center?

Genius. And now as things come back full circle Mills will rehire Layden and the Knicks will win a title

I'm really a big fan of his. He plays very hard and is very effective scoring the ball 15' and in... I know THJ won it for us last night but w/o Ike's conversion at the rim just prior to that, we probably lose this game.

Still think it should be CDR, Tyler and Aldrich (wasn't that impressed with Cole last night---thought he looked OK, not great. Thought he should've engaged a lot more Celtic attempts near the rim that he let go. I was kinda surprised--he's normally an aggressive, effective shot-blocker and he's fighting to make this team. It was like he was playing with 5 fouls the whole time, afraid to pick up #6. Thought he looked a little passive & slow to react defensively.. He was merely OK--he's capable of more though--hope Woody realizes that and continues to use him). Those continue to be my last 3... Diogu continues to be my wildcard to make it though -- he didn't get much time tonight but I expect to see him and CDR more next game. I have a funny feeling Ike's gonna play real well when Woody calls his number these next several games.. If he does, he's gonna make it real tough for us to keep Tyler. Prob. still keep Tyler but that's not gonna be an easy decision. Not trying to take anything away from Josh Powell--he played hard last night when he was in there, gotta give him credit -- but Diogu's the much better player between the 2..Big question will be is he worth keeping over an injured Jeremy Tyler?

Ike with the #50 jersey, 6'9" frame and added weight reminded me of Sweetney.
