Seriously, I shut it off about 2 seconds in.

Ban him and send him back to the Jimimou Fund where he belongs.

Anyone else really excited by the Yankees pen right now? Mo is Mo- but if Bruney picks up where he left off, I think we really have something with him, Coke and Marte setting up. Veras and Ramirez made big strides last year. I really like Aceves for the long man role. I'm not interested in having Tomko make the team. Our pitching could really be tremendous this year.

The lineup without ARod is gonna be a concern. Jeter has fallen off. Posada is a question mark coming off a major injury. Without ARod there is a lot of pressure on Teixiera and Matsui to drive in runs. Cano can't afford another slow start.
TMS @ 3/21/2009 5:01 PM
the pitching is gonna have to carry us for the first half of the season... hopefully their arms aren't worn out by the time September & October rolls around... the pen is looking great & the starting rotation is 1 of the best in baseball as long as guys stay healthy... that's the big key... lotsa pressure on Tex, Matsui & Cano like u said, they can't afford to get off slow... maybe guys will start to appreciate what ARod brings to the lineup when guys start pitching around Tex & tough lefties are sent in to face Matsui & Cano.
nyk4ever @ 3/21/2009 5:24 PM
Des.. I absolutely agree with you.

I must say, Matsui looks like he was in a time-machine - he is raking right now which is a great sign. We've sorely missed Matsui's consistency and it'll be a welcome site to see him back in that 4 or 5 hole.
EnySpree @ 3/23/2009 5:43 PM
i haven't been following guys...sorry if you talked about it....who is gonna replace a-rod at 3rd?

also how scary is it that Derek Jeter is getting old? I mean the Yankees need to start preping their farm to come in and replace some of these geezers out there....at least within the next 2-3 years.
TMS @ 3/23/2009 5:49 PM
right now it's Cody Ransom who will be filling in at 3B til ARod comes back, unless some veterans get cut at the end of Spring Training & we pick someone up as a stopgap.

& word, Jeter, ARod, Jorge & Mo are all gonna be signed up longterm so we have to hope that they don't fall off too much in the coming 2 or 3 years, otherwise this team is gonna need some young studs to come in & be the foundation of this team... getting Mark Tex & CC was a good bridge until Joba fulfills his full potential... hopefully we land ourselves a young stud positional player as well in the coming years to take over for Jeter someday as the figurehead for this franchise & we don't have to go through those dark years that followed so many other Yankee dynasties in the past.

You're like the 5th person who told me that.

Kim has no idea what she's in for.

Gardner is so fucking fast. He was lightning on that triple.
islesfan @ 3/24/2009 8:54 PM
Mo was dealing. He was popping the mitt even more than Burnett. Mo's arm is fine.
