CC pitched his heart out last nite, but our pen is going to be an ongoing issue as long as Joba isn't setting up in the late innings... it's just a fact... hard to move Joba back into the pen w/Hughes & Wang as inconsistent as they are tho... tough situation there.
we better win this series vs the Muts this weekend, or else some heads are gonna roll.
you really think the situation is that dire? the team's been winning like no-one's business and tex is easily the mvp of the team (and probably of the league) right now. yes, we hick-up'ed again against the sox, but long season and no need for anything drastic to happen. we need arod to get out of his slump, cano too and some better outings from wang is all. we'll be fine.
The Yankees can lost the entire season to the Sox for all I care - as long as they get into the playoffs and beat them.
how u gonna be confident going into a playoff series vs. the Red Sox if we keep losing to them like this in the regular season?
I am not saying I will be confident about our chances, but I just want to see the Sox go down to the Yankees in the playoffs. I went to college up in Boston so I have a special dislike for the Red Sox and their fans.
believe me, your special dislike for the Red Sox & their fans is shared by us all bro... i can't stand seeing those fuggers PWN us like this... it wouldn't matter to me if we were in 1st place or last place, i hate losing to those guys & i know plenty of Yankee fans that share that point of view... w/how they've looked vs. Boston this year they're the last team i'd wanna face in the playoffs.
Joba's struggling w/location bigtime... 2-1 in the 3rd, walked the bases loaded & forced in 2 w/o even giving up a hit... got out of it tho... 2-1 Mets.
Tex never ceases to amaze me. I definitely campaigned for his signing instead of Manny, but little did I know...
Fuck Sheffield!
Joba can't get past the 4th inning cuz of excessive pitch count & now the team pays by having Tomko in there for middle relief... 6-4 Mets after the Yanks pull to within 2 off Jeter's HR... now we have Wang, Hughes & Joba who can't give us any consistent quality out of the starting rotation & AJB isn't doing all that great either, & some pretty bad middle relief out of the bullpen... not good.
What a monster shot from Matsui! 3 run shot gives the Yanks the lead.

Please include Andy too because let's face it the guy hasn't been the same since came off the juice. The Yankees bullpen is a joke.

Andy was signed as a #5 starter so i'm not gonna bash on him... he's got good numbers for a #5 guy... the problem is the other guys that were looked upon to fill the #2, 3 & 4 slots aren't doing their job this year
I love Mo, but I haven't had much confidence in him in a while - at least not in non-save situations.
Can't believe we won like that.
They certainly are the Amazing Mets...un-fucking-believable.
I will take it though!

i don't know if it's the shoulder surgery, age, or both - but the days of "automatic" when mariano comes in are gone...
Mo's gone from "automatic" to "pretty good but still human"

mets need to fire manuel quick...
he bats castillo 9th yesterday (an insult imho to put cora and fmart at 1 & 2) and today, he's leading off.
i won't even talk about putting in switzer in yankee stadium with 2 on in a subway series.

he goes through a dead arm period almost every year around this time & always seems to bounce back... i'm not too worried about Mo right now... i'm worried about the fact that our starting pitching & middle relief is so inconsistent.
another lackluster performance by our lineup & starting pitching... once again we get shut down by another no name pitcher... who the hell is Fernando Nieve? some guy the Mets picked up off the scrapheap on waivers & he's shutting down an Allstar lineup like ours... something is really wrong w/this team's mental focus at times.
They should play Gardner more and Melky less. Any difference in their hitting is minimal and outweighed by Gardner's stolen bases and better fielding. Gardner has more upside too.
Johan's getting crushed. 6-0 Yanks in the 4th.
