Was at the Giants game tonight (boy that was lame) but followed the Yanks on updates. So sweet to be back in the Series! F the sox, the angels, the twins and whoever. We were a better team and when we started believing it, we turned it around against those guys. AROD/CC were just insane this series. Absolutely insane. Surprised ARod wasnt co-MVP at least. The guy hit .429 with 3 HR and 5 RBI in 6 games....1500 OPS. I mean I dont know how you hit that well and not get recognized for it. Ultimately unimportant, just a bit curious he didn't get that recognition.
yeah i woulda gave him the Co-MVP award too, he was unstoppable the entire series... hopefully he'll earn WS MVP honors this year

just saw this posted on Yankees.com... how come the Phillies got a ceremony on the field to get their NLCS trophy but we get this? not a big deal but come on, the team played their hearts out & the fans deserved to see their team get presented this award & show their love to the team for their accomplishment.
btw, i think Bruney just punched his ticket out of NY w/that dousing of Hal w/the champagne... dude didn't look atll that pleased with him, lol.

Time for Big Stein to make an appearance at the Stadium in the World Series!
i hope we see Pedro in game 2 at YS... i miss the "Who's your Daddy" chant.
Apparently Girardi has more confidence in Joba than Phil Hughes right now out of the bullpen
Im gonna guess the ceremony is at the teams discretion.
Winning the pennant is really no big deal anymore. Interleague play has made it less releveant and lets be real: Win the pennant and lost in the Series don't really do it. Yanks have 26 titles, pennants are not big deal.
A down town ticker tape parade is the real deal anyway. No too many cities have the "canyon of heroes"!
Lebron wants that.
Was at the hospital watching the game! We had our first baby on Saturday evening, I think she is "lucky" for the Yankees.

congrats man. keep her away from jeter.
posada needs to catch AJ - no way we can bat molina and a pitcher at the bottom of the lineup in philly since AJ will most likely have to pitch one game there.

absolutely agree. aj better suck it up and deal with it, he pitched to jorge the other night anyways in his later innings and the two seemed to do ok together.
aj will suck it up and pitch to posada or he might as well come out the bullpen for us in late inning relief. he hasnt done anything spectacular this postseason and molina hits like a 4th grader when under pressure.

yea but who's been worse than Posada? Between the 15 double plays he grounded into, the idiotic baserunning and poor defense what's he bringing to the table? at least Molina catches a good game.
This is the best WS on paper I can remember. 96 was great, because the Braves were a powerhouse, but this is the two best teams in BB. Phili has an american league lineup, and both teams have deep starting pitching.I think it comes down to the pens

agreed it does always come down to the pen. but, i have to give posad the nod here - he has the history, postseason pedigree and has been clutch in alot of games. for me it comes down to....who do you want hitting with RISP - posada or molina?

You have to take into account how many more runs we give up when Jorge catches, especially when he catches Burnett. If you want to try to outscore the opponent, you use Jorge. If you want to outpitch them, you use Molina.
I guess Lebron will come see his pal if he has a free nite?

tomorrow is AJ's throw day, is it not? if that's the case & Joe decides to have Jorge catch AJ, then they should toss a simulated game together & work out a game plan for the Phillies hitters so they're on the same page... personally i think Joe's gonna stick w/Molina tho, at least for game 2.

this means all 3 of our pitchers will be throwing on 3 days' rest, unless i'm missing something here... not crazy about the idea of throwing Andy on 3 days' rest at his age... AJ is 4-0 with a 2.33 ERA on 3 days' rest over his career tho, so that's encouraging... already know CC does well on 3 days' rest so he's not a concern
