i was at the game last night.....the place was a funeral parlor it was so quiet....then arod hits the blast and the place wakes up for the rest of the game.
gadzooks, aj looks awful. tb giving every chance to wilt as well.

he is gonna have to carry the team again... they realllllly need some other guys to go 6+ to help out.
i know i keep belaboring this point but i really wish we had signed Aroldis Chapman last summer instead of trading for Javy V... we could have had a big weapon out of the BP to use... a lefty who throws 100+ consistently... that is the type of weapon that can change an entire series around in your favor (if he has control of that pitch that is)... i wouldn't trust Javy V to pitch in any important situations in the postseason, i hope he's not even on the postseason roster.
right now our starting rotation shapes up like:
CC
Hughes
Pettitte
Nova
i would use AJ in a relief role, he can no longer be trusted as a starting option either.
look at these clowns lol!

whats odd is that the guy couldnt hack ny before (jv), why would he be able to now? the injury prob with johnson also, why bring that dude back?
I have no faith in AJ either (havent since he came here) but even knowing full well that AJ doesnt deserve to be a starter in the playoffs, Girardi will not leave him out of the post season starting rotation....he has $82.5 million reasons to leave him in.
cash would go bonkers if AJ is left off. and, if the yanks dont get past the first round w AJ sitting on the bench waiting for a bullpen call, girardi's head would roll i'd think.

great point... Girardi wants a new contract. If AJ bombs it isn't Girardi's fault because that's who management picked for this situation, but if the Yanks lose and AJ is riding pine Girardi is the fall guy
I haven't seen much Yankee baseball this season, but it seems as though AJ lost confidence in his curveball. When his curve is working he is an effective pitcher, when it's not he sucks... this has been a season long dilemma

i have no idea why Cash would bring those guys back other than to try & vindicate himself for past moves that went awry... in the case of Nick the walking injury, i think he signed him more to prove a point to Scott Boras that he could fill the #2 slot in the batting order for a lot less than what his client Damon was demanding... both moves have really come back to bite us in the butt.
we'll see what happens going into october.
TMS you were right on vazquez all along. i held out hope as long as i could but after seeing him hit 3 batters in a row the other night, i gave up on the guy.
echoing supreme commanders points, i think you go with AJ in game 3 or 4. CC and pettitte should be at the top of the rotation, and hughes either 3 or 4 depending on matchups and where we're at. i trust hughes more than AJ right now.
i would keep AJ on a short leash and bring nova in at the first sign of trouble.
johnson hasn't really hurt us b/c of cashman's moves with thames, kearns, and berkman. the platoon DH lets the yanks exploit matchups and our offense has been best in the majors. damon can F himself. enjoy the winter in detroit with your extra $2 mil.
A-Rod reached 30 HR! That was almost unimaginable a month ago.

I don't want AJ ahead of Hughes unless we're facing a middle school team, and even then it has to be a below average middle school team.
Michael Key was saying on his radio show the other day that he would bypass Burnett altogether in the first round..He was saying the ALDS is only best of 5 -- every game is so crucial -- why throw away one game using AJ with the way he's been throwing...He may have a point..CC, Hughes, Pettitte should be enough for the 1st round provided Andy's OK..Tomorrow's actually a big start for Pettitte. I think he'll pitch a lot better against the Sox tomorrow..
Zack Greinke outdueled Garza tonight in a 3-2 KC win..All tied up with 2 games to play..Right down to the wire.

we need to finish a game up on TB cuz they own the tie breaker

its like neither team wants to win the deal... both taking steps back

i'd like for us to win the division to get Home field but the Twins are probably a much easier matchup for us... we own the Twins in postseason play & the Rangers have Cliff Lee anchoring their staff.

I am sooo pissed with AJ, I would not use him at all. May be see if he gets the message after the first round of playoffs.

Probably but it's worth the risk.

Neither wants to face Lee and Texas
Minny still scares me even in spite of their recent troubles. That said, I would like nothing more than a chance to see the Yanks crush Pavano in October. Eff that guy
