if AJ gets traded today, I don't know which Valentine's Day deal I will be more excited about: this one or ARod
Bonn1997 @ 2/18/2012 1:16 PM
We're paying almost all of AJ's salary and just getting two minor league players? Are these high level prospects? I don't see what the point is in paying Burnett $18 mil to play for another team.
jrodmc @ 2/20/2012 9:00 AM
It will ensure we don't meet the Pirates in the WS.

You obviously haven't been watching this guy pitch the last two years. One good month a season does not a 68 million dollar pitcher make.

I will miss the pies, though.

jusnice @ 2/21/2012 1:46 PM
Yeah, I'll miss the pies. Maybe Swisher takes it on himself to pie people. Have no problem with this trade. It decreases our payroll overall and makes a big problem go away to Pirate land...
jrodmc @ 2/27/2012 12:26 PM
Pie issue resolved; Swish will do the honors, even if the situation arises where he has to pie himself. Although I think it would be nice if Mariano used the pies routine as a nice swan song end to his career... probably won't happen, but he's fast, quick and light... no one would ever see him coming...

Pineda is lookin like a beast in the making
jusnice @ 3/7/2012 10:09 AM
It's gonna be a good year fellas. Can't wait.

I'm more excited this year than any in a while... this season has the potential to be a special year, as well as a year where young talent gets featured. Really excited to see hwo the pitching develops but there is a definite veteran presence available to take the reins if the kids stumble

jrodmc @ 3/7/2012 12:53 PM
Media is already making the Hughes/fat/lack of velocity last year comparisons to Pineda in camp this year.

The press should all die.

Bonn1997 @ 3/16/2012 1:42 PM
Pettite is back! This could be huge! Now if only Mike Mussina could come back too!

Dang, Moose is 43. Just looked it up. I was a huge fan of his but I guess a comeback is out of the question. I thought he was closer to 39.

ChuckBuck @ 3/16/2012 2:12 PM
Jesus, just saw that. Pettite...what, how?? Yanks are stacked with pitchers now
MaTT4281 @ 3/16/2012 3:28 PM
Just saw the news! Andy has always been one of my favorite Yankees, period. I am ecstatic to welcome him back and am really rooting for him to get back in the rotation.

I had the same reaction. I definitely didn't see this coming!
Bonn1997 @ 3/16/2012 6:38 PM
Just saw this
Pettitte is expected to begin the season in the minor leagues, and is expected to make his return to the big league rotation during the season.

I guess it will take him some time to get back to form
jrodmc @ 3/21/2012 12:29 PM
We're back to three of the Core Four! You can guage the brilliance of this signing by the way Mets fans are commenting on how stupid it is.

Welcome back, Andy!

ChuckBuck @ 3/23/2012 11:15 AM
Dam that sucks, Joba probably done this season, possibly as a Yankee.

honestly, probably a blessin gin disguise. his last season he broke down right before it mattered. if he can give the Yanks half a season?

Oh man, the guy is built like Marcus Camby! With a guy as huge and injury prone as he is, I can't help wondering if he did many years of steroids. Obviously the size and injuries could just be a coincidence though.

Wouldn't surprise me one bit, who isn't or hasn't used steroids in the past in baseball?
