41-13 = TOTAL ANNIHILATION!

2-0 baby! GO BIG BLUE!

As I suspected, the Giants still have plenty of D post-Umenyiora. Justin Tuck is the best defensive player in the league period and the rest of the D-line all had good games. Several players with sacks. 8 players with receptions. 3 RB's with 50 yards rushing and a 7 ypc overall total. Eli with 3 TD no INT. Just impressive up and down the lineup.

That was a completely balanced destruction and just the way it should've been. People thought Washington sucked but they came out and beat the Saints. Giants are playing like the champs!
TMS @ 9/14/2008 4:55 PM
i admit their pass rush still looks very good & i give a lot of credit to Spags for devising the blitz schemes to get fresh bodies in there on the QB at all times like u told me he would... still, i'm trying to take this w/a grain of salt considering the Skins & Rams are not who i think are top teams in the NFL... right now w/our schedule we can very well go 6-0 before we have to face any upper tier teams this year, not that i'd complain about that... u still gotta beat who u play that week & any team can win on any given Sunday, but i don't think i'll be fully sure of where this team is until i see them play the Steelers, Cowboys, Eagles & Ravens in weeks 8-11... that's a nasty stretch of games & could very well decide who wins the NFC East this season.
Pharzeone @ 9/14/2008 6:21 PM
I hate the officiating. Holt didn't catch that ball. If Coughlin was forced to waste that challenge, that call would have bene reverse. Also Tuck was held almost on every possession.
nyk4ever @ 9/14/2008 9:59 PM
Great game today from the GMen...

Oh and by the way Des... I will gladly say I was very wrong about Jay Feely. Carney is kicking great right now.
VDesai @ 9/14/2008 10:45 PM
Feely missed a chippy today for the Jets. Carney has been solid, but so far its early season warm weather and dome so we'll see.

On that Holt catch, I thought Kenny Phillips actually came down with the ball. I'm surprised the Giants didn't challenge (though most likely there would've not have been enough conclusive evidence to overturn).
TMS @ 9/14/2008 11:33 PM
yeah that call wouldn't have been reversed off those replays... both guys had possession at the same time & the ball never looked like it hit the ground, so it was probably a TD in anycase... Kenny shoulda came down w/that one tho, it hit him right in the hands, but i liked the coverage all day from our secondary, i was worried coming into this season they would underperform due to what i thought would be a weakened pass rush but so far the D has been playing lights out... the O Line also has been pretty much carrying this offense so far giving guys huge holes to run through & Eli plenty of time in the pocket to get his throws off... & what a pickup so far Carney has been... perfect kicking & pretty good distance on his kickoffs also... not bad for a 44 yo has been.
NYKBocker @ 9/15/2008 10:54 AM
Earth,, Wind and Fire

Earth..Brandon Jacobs

Wind..Derrick Ward

Fire..Ahmad Bradshaw

Jacobs had 93 yards on 15 carries, Ward 58 on eight, Bradshaw 52 on five. The Giants averaged 6.5 per running play, putting them in only nine first-down situations

I love the nickname. It might be a little corny, but it works perfectly.

Don't insult our RBs by comparing them to Tiki Dayne.
TMS @ 9/16/2008 2:38 PM
Tiki was the best RB we've ever had... how is that an insult?
TMS @ 9/16/2008 2:42 PM
i know this one's p'shopped but sorta funny anyways

Yeah I know, but I just couldn't give a hoot about him anymore. And I loved him at the time. Maybe I shouldn't say it's an insult, but Jacobs/ Ward and Bradshaw won the superbowl, and Tiki didn't. They deserve their own name.
TMS @ 9/16/2008 6:10 PM
i know how u feel... i got annoyed at how Tiki sold out to pursue his Hollywood career too in the prime of his career & his comments afterwards criticizing Eli... i'll give this one to ya tho, those guys do deserve their own name.

TMS @ 9/21/2008 5:56 PM
whew, that was a tough one but they pulled it out in OT... the Bengals really came to play today, especially their secondary... Derrick Ward made some huge plays for us in the 4th quarter & Eli led an awesome drive to take the lead late in the game... too bad our D couldn't hold em on the other side... John Carney's been a Godsend so far... 1 problem i had w/this game is how late the D was all day long on blitzes... i think i counted at least 5 or 6 different times where they were so late on timing the snap that Carson Palmer was able to torch them on slant & seam routes for easy completions & big gains... they better get to work on that over the bye week... also have no idea why Coughlin didn't challenge that early incompletion to Burress in the back of the end zone... looked to me like he got his feet in bounds, certainly close enough to warrant a challenge... lucky for us it didn't come back to bite us in the end... Eli really pulled it out for us w/that awesome throw to Toomer in OT to set up the winning FG... the guy is really making a habit of being clutch late in games.

Was at the game today. Obviously not our best game, but the Bengals came out and played hard and played great. Eli made all the plays when he had to again. Gotta love that everytime we're down and need a TD he seems to come right and do it.

Good time to be tested as we'll get to make some adjustments over the bye week now.

METAIRIE, La. -- Tight end Jeremy Shockey, the New Orleans Saints' second-leading receiver through three games, is expected to be out for three to six weeks because of a sports hernia.

Shockey, who was acquired from the New York Giants in a trade shortly before training camp, had 16 receptions for 151 yards during the Saints' first three regular-season games. He played Sunday in New Orleans' 34-32 loss at Denver, catching eight passes for 75 yards.

On Monday afternoon, Saints spokesman Greg Bensel confirmed a report on The (New Orleans) Times-Picayune's Web site that Shockey was scheduled to have surgery this week.

A sports hernia is the weakening of muscles or tendons in the lower abdominal wall. For Shockey, it's the second serious injury in as many seasons. He broke his left leg last December and missed all of the Giants' postseason run to a Super Bowl championship.

Shockey's absence also is the second major blow to the Saints' receivers this season following the loss of Marques Colston in Week 1.

Colston, who led the Saints in receiving in each of the previous two seasons, needed surgery to repair a torn ligament in his left thumb and is not expected back for another month.

Shockey lobbied for a trade to the Saints in the offseason, hoping to rejoin head coach Sean Payton, who was the Giants' offensive coordinator in 2002, the flamboyant tight end's rookie season.

Shockey caught more passes (74) for more yards (894) that season than any other in his career and was the rookie of the year. With the Saints, he was expected to play a major role in a pass-oriented offense led by quarterback Drew Brees.

So far, the Saints' leading receiver this season is running back Reggie Bush, who has 26 catches for 250 yards and two touchdowns.

With both Colston and Shockey out, the Saints may have to rely more on receivers David Patten, Devery Henderson, Lance Moore, Robert Meachem and Terrance Copper. However, Patten pulled his left groin during Sunday's game and is unsure of his status for this week, while Copper was inactive last weekend with a pulled hamstring.

The Saints also have two other tight ends in Billy Miller and Mark Campbell, although Campbell also was out last weekend because of a pulled hamstring.

Payton met with reporters earlier on Monday afternoon, but did not mention Shockey's injury.

Normally, I don't let myself take joy in another's injury only concern but this is too much.

HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Saint fans you're welcome. Those picks will look quite nice in April.
Jerry continue to keep up the good work.
jazz74 @ 9/24/2008 8:14 AM
yeah and kevin boss continues to do well for us so far. i don't want to laugh at other team's injury woes because we could suffer the same fate too. so far so good with the g-men. however, the eagles are playing tough too and i don't like it. bye week is early this year and we usually play poorly after the bye wekk. has been our trend the past three years. let's hope we buck the trend. the next three games are very winnable and we should start our season 6-0 or at least 5-1. then the fun starts and we will see if our team is really the defending champs.
Vmart @ 9/24/2008 11:14 AM
Damn Plaxico just skipped out on practice on Monday. Just got suspended for the Seattle game. One thing I know about the NFL is that the recievers are not in control of themselves. Just to selfish. Plaxico wanted a new contract he got it and this is how he repay the Giants gratitude. What a major F'up. I think the Giants are bigger than any one player. Someone will step in and get the job done.
