k, the drive to end the half redeemed them somewhat... they should count themselves lucky the game is still within reach at this point... they've been thoroughly outplayed by the Browns tonight so far... Spags better make some adjustments to the pass coverage in the 2nd half & stop those deep routes from opening up so easy.
GKFv2 @ 10/13/2008 11:08 PM
Oh, you're in anther timezone lol. I think it's time to start being disgusted from now.
TMS @ 10/13/2008 11:15 PM
no i was watching in DVR... just starting the 2nd half... i take it it's not looking good.
GKFv2 @ 10/13/2008 11:16 PM
Pathetic game by Eli. Sorry dude but you're not exempt from anything. You *** sucked dick tonight. Game over. Stop watching TMS before you break your TV.
GKFv2 @ 10/13/2008 11:17 PM
I mean to lose, fine. But to get owned by the fucking BROWNS?!

Fuck you Eli.
TMS @ 10/13/2008 11:20 PM
he's forcing the ball up to Plax on every drive... what the hell... u'r moving the ball so effectively throwing underneath to Steve Smith & running w/Brandon Jacobs... why the hell is Gilbride calling Plax's # so often??? did we forget we just demolished SEA last week w/o him?
TMS @ 10/14/2008 12:07 AM
the Giants defense played like crap tonight... they deserve an equal share of the blame for this loss... Eli was horrible tho, no doubt about it... bad bad play execution all around for the Giants tonight... they obviously took this team lightly & weren't prepared for having the game taken to them the way the Browns did tonight... they played a great game.
nyk4ever @ 10/14/2008 12:13 AM
Giants played like absolute SHIT tonight. I can't get too mad, they've played spectacular for a while now. Hopefully this is just a minor bump in the road and the team can get back on track. I think what Kevin Gilbride has to remember is that this is really a run first team and too many times we went away from the run. Also Smith was working the middle of the field beautifully tonight and he didn't get enough looks.

Gotta get back to basics.
GKFv2 @ 10/14/2008 12:14 AM
I am going to the game this Sunday so they better win.
VDesai @ 10/14/2008 12:14 AM
Brutal defense tonight. Eli was brutal, but I think even if he didn't turn the ball over we could've still lost tonight. We didn't force them to punt once and I don't think Derek Anderson was even knocked down once.
VDesai @ 10/14/2008 12:15 AM
BTW, just as an aside, Moss was a healthy inactive tonight...I don't know if that means he could be traded but its certainly enough to fuel some speculation.
TMS @ 10/14/2008 12:16 AM
the whole body language was just bad all night... other than that 1 punishing run by Jacobs into the end zone i didn't get a sense at all that the Giants were the ones dictating the pace of the game... the Browns had an awesome game plan on both sides of the ball tonight & executed their plays to perfection.

if that trade for Gonzo goes through it'll take some of the sting off tonight's loss.

I know Moss has been in Coughlin's doghouse but I think whenever Moss is healthy he should be active. He's too much of a burner and downfield threat. I know he has trouble running routes and all that, but damn we gotta use this guys speed to our advantage...
VDesai @ 10/14/2008 12:26 AM
Bottom line is that there won't be many opportunities for Moss to get on the field ahead of the top 4 guys (and Hixon is quite fast and can get deep). By the time his second contract comes up, chances are we won't resign him anyway- we'd have Plax, Smith, Hixon, Manningham etc.

If this is an opportunity to flip him for some value we should do it. A 3 or a 4 and Sinorice Moss for TG is a price I'd be willing to pay. We'll see what happens.

That being said we need some linebackers in here...should be first priority in the offseason. Pierce is a great player but we can't keep letting him get 1 on 1 in coverage. Brian Kehl looks brutal so far- every time he's even in on a tackle he gets pushed backwards. We can get by with this group if the front four generates some pressure, but we didn't tonight and they were exposed bigged time.
TMS @ 10/14/2008 12:28 AM
i pretty much consider Moss a bust of a pick at this point... he doesn't seem to have a future here anyways... Domenik Hixson is ahead of him on the depth chart at this point & we have Plax, Amani & Smith all set as starters... also have that kid Manningham waiting in the wings to get a chance too that we just drafted last year.
TMS @ 10/14/2008 12:30 AM
what the hell happened w/Gerris Wilkinson? he's been absolutely invisible all season long... is he injured or something?

He got hurt in the first half tonight and Kehl came in for him. Up until this point Wilkinson had been splitting the position roughly 65-35 with Kehl. But neither of them really had to make any plays or be at under the microscope untill tonight.
TMS @ 10/14/2008 12:47 AM
we definitely need to stock up this year on some LBers to give Pierce some support.
TMS @ 10/14/2008 4:18 PM
no Gonzo trade... bleh.
TMS @ 10/14/2008 7:07 PM
any interest in Simeon Rice? he's 34, i figure he's got at least 2 or 3 good seasons left in him... he's gotta add some better depth to our D Line than guys like Jerome McDougle.
