any interest in Simeon Rice? he's 34, i figure he's got at least 2 or 3 good seasons left in him... he's gotta add some better depth to our D Line than guys like Jerome McDougle.
Blocked FG? You gotta be kiddin' me. And Eli is regressing back to old Eli.
defense pulled out the game & picked up the offense... Eli was making some shaky decisions again today... didn't like what i saw from Plax either jawing at the head coach... didn't he learn his lesson from a couple weeks ago?... after he just signed the new contract he wanted he goes & skips out on practice w/o notifying the team & now this... i love the guy as a player but man, be a freakin' professional for God's sakes.
They never got any rhythm. A few passes dropped, a bunch knocked down. Run game didn't get going that much except for a few nice runs early. Still managed to get out of it pretty easily b/c they got some pressure. Blocked FG for a touchdown is one of the crazy plays you rarely see against you. Without that you might be looking at a 32-10 game- but either way we just gotta keep winning.
Still some issues. Offense is starting to sputter and Ross is having some problems all of a sudden. Huge test next week. Marquee NFL matchup so far this year.
that PIT game is definitely the big 'un... great test to see just where we are as a football team.
Kellen Winslow's spouting off in CLE about his role... we have a need for an upgrade at TE... how about offering up that 3rd rounder, Boss & Moss for Winslow? he may be Jeremy Shockey version 2 someday (attitude included)... what do u guys think?

Winslow is an excellent player but I don't think I want another guy with that kind of attitude. Plax is starting to get out of hand and having both him and Winslow might be a bit too much. It's a tough call.. he's damn good.
yeah i know that attitude scares me to hell too, but the guy's damn talented & i think he just wants to win & gets frustrated when they don't... i thought Shockey was like that but he disappointed me this past offseason when instead of being happy about having a SB ring on his finger he decided to be a baby & force a trade... i could be dead wrong about Winslow, he does seem very immature to me, but the guy can play & i thihk he's gonna be an All-pro in the very near future.
Shockey is already crying on New Orleans. He's complaining that the team didn't do enough to heal his injury.
Winslow is sort of a trainwreck of a human being. He's immensely talented, but he has such a weird personality. BTW, he didn't have a staph infection like he said- looks like all the inside sources are saying he had "blue balls."

I read he had swollen testicles as well. That makes this whole situation even more strange because the Browns have had problems with Staph Infections recently (I think like 4 or 5 cases, which is pretty absurd) and for him to go on a public tirade about how he felt mistreated by the Browns is kinda weird. You would think that the Browns would have said he didnt have a staph infection because that makes the team look pretty bad by having so many cases.
The Steelers on the road was a tough matchup to begin with. Their defense has destroyed us today and our secondary is pretty sad. Eli is also playing like crap but that has more to do with their defense. They are showing why they have the best D in the NFL.
Well the Giants second half was superb. I underestimated their grittiness. Road warriors 4 life!!
wow, the defense came up HUGE today, & that botched long snap for the safety helped bigtime... Cowboys up next! G-MEN my b!tches!
I would not characterize that game as Eli playing like crap. That was a huge win by the Giants. In a defensive struggle you don't want to put the ball up for grabs (see playoffs, 2007). Giants should've converted more by the goal line, but they took care of the ball and Ben R. didn't. Huge games by Kiwanuka, Tuck and the D applying big pressure in the 4th q. Giants 4th q was one of the best played q's this year.
yeah, i didn't see Eli making stupid decisions w/the ball... the Giants had an ultra conservative gameplan but Eli made the throws when he needed to... that huge 4th down pass to Toomer to get to the 5 yd line late in the game was as big a play as any this game... the defense carried this win w/the tremendous pass rush & big INT's they got, but Eli played a good controlled style of game...
i don't care what anyone says, Kiwa's a D Lineman & doesn't belong in the LB corps... when Osi gets back they may have to make some tough choices where to play the guy, but if i had to i'd move Tuck to the Tackle spot & play Kiwa on the end to get them all playing time... & that kid Tollefson is really growing into a helluva pass rusher himself... he seems to be making some big plays of late & gives us great depth... & yo, Derrick Ward makes huge plays just about every week... i'm so glad they decided to keep him this year instead of letting him go via free agency... & can't say enough about the job John Carney's done this year... he makes every kick he needs to make... his range isn't all that great but he's money inside 45 yards.
TMS- I dont think you have to move anyone, you play the 3 in a rotation just like last year and line up Tuck and sometimes Kiwi inside. And then you also now have the versatility to put Kiwi in there and have him rush standing up. Giving them so many different looks is the strength of this D. Kiwi was at LB partly because we had so many guys, but the situation is different now. That being said I think he would've been a playmaker at LB. He was coming around in the mental part of the game and had the athleticism to do it.
On Ward, you have to wonder why no other team made a serious attempt to sign him after he had a solid year last year. The injury hurt him, but he could've gone to several teams and won a starting job. The more interesting thing this year is Jake will be an FA and they would certainly save a lot of money by going with Ward and Bradshaw (and Danny Ware). I would personally not let Jake walk, but you can make an argument that for no matter how unique Jake is, the rest of the RB's could still put together very consistent production. That may allow you to re-sign Corey Webster- who is playing top notch CB right now and will demand top dollar in the open market (CB is one of the highest, if not the highest paid position in the NFL right now).
Its an interesting decision, but hopefully they can just keep everyone and everyone actually plays up to their new contract, unlike someone who's name rimes with Waxico.
I would trade Plaxico in the offseason and go the WR's we have. That will allow us to re-sign Webster and probably Jacobs as well.

as much of a PITA Plax is we shoulda known he'd be this way long before we ever signed him to begin with... he's still a huge weapon for Eli to have whenever he's on the field... the problem is getting him on the field w/Coughlin & him butting heads all the time... wish he'd just get on the program & be a team player like he was last season... u all saw what he can do & he plays injured... he's not a primadonna whiner IMO, just has a problem dealing w/authority figures, but he always comes to play as far as i've seen.
BIG win yesterday. after the steeler's first drive, i had major doubts and started cursing up a storm around the house. then the g-men pulled it together and hit them hard. man, the giants sure beat the steelers up literally. enough to take some of them out including the long snapper which turned out to be key. we won't be that lucky next week against the cowboys. this is a game that the cowgirls waited ALL season to play. they want revenge and they will be up for this game and don't be suprised if tony romo shows up. what a test in the next couple of months but if we still end up with the best record in the nfc, which we have a GREAT shot in doing since most of the supposedly great teams are struggling, we may be super bowl bound again.
Romo has ruled himself out of next week, but we need to be on our game regardless. Its a desperation game for the Cowboys and a game they have to have to stay in contention for the division.
