The more that this campaign drags on the more, I get the sense that Obama is just an elegant mouth piece to the puppet masters behind him that he's sold out to. If he loses I think the turning point will have to be when he went back on his promise regarding campaign financing in order to get more $.

I'm missing the connection. What does voting with your party have to do with doing the right thing or leading? You can be leading and voting with or against a particular party. The two are independent issues. And like Martin said, if the other party is offering blatant crap, then your entire party is going to virtually unanomously (hence 97%) try to lead the country in an alternative direction.

That's probably the reason the Republican's are smart enough not to be citing this 97% figure in their attacks. They know it's a weak argument because the majority of Americans are in agreement with Democrats and see voting with the Dems and against the Republicans as a strength, not a weakness.

We like Obama because he has a true American story. A hardworking story full of triumph and compassion. He's is thoughtful and actually seems to posses a moral and ethical compass that is not completely askew. In the primaries and general election we have caught McCain and Clinton in blatant lies and have watched how their thirst for power has compromised every fiber of their being. Not Obama.
Obama sure as hell isnt perfect, and I disagree with him on a healthy amount of issues (capitulating on FISA and off shore drilling spring to mind), but he's clearly the superior candidate and probably the best candidate I have seen in my lifetime, who has a legit shot.

He does occasionally but less so than most politicians and definitely less so than McCain. Your view can't explain the positions I cited in the prior post

Sorry, but not everything the Dems put out is striaght from the and of God. 97% means that he toes the party line so he doesn't get Libermanned. That guy is the only real example of someone putting themselves out for principle. Not Obama.

2 years. If they were really doing a better job it would have been reflected in the current polls. Fact is they rate lower than the 2nd worst president in US hisory, which is pathetic.

I am thinking that the inner workings of our govt are a little more deep than you are presenting them to be.
If you have 51 votes in the Senate, you DON'T control Congress. You need 60, which means you need at least 55 of your party. The idea that the Dems control the Senate is just a media oversimplification.
