Absolutely nothing. Nothing a teenage girl can say to a grown man would warrant that reaction.
All he had to do was close the door
I saw this before. In some forums, they claim what the girl did was assaulting a cop when she kicked her shoe at him. Sad really, he should have just closed the door and added more charges instead of hitting the defenseless girl.
let me just say i got a ton of respect for cops that go out & do their job the right way & don't conduct themselves like arrogant pricks who think they're above the law... but things like this give the good cops a horrible rap... that idiot needs to be brought up on some serious assault charges for what he did to that little girl, i don't care what she was charged with to have been arrested to begin with.
Makes me wonder what happened after he took her out of the room with the camera in it. I was in a similar situation a long....long time ago. All I can say is, the cop lied, the rest of the cops swore he was telling the truth, and the judge believed every word of it. There needs to be more cameras everywhere. Cameras don't lie.
The policeman was wrong to react the way he did. The girl was wrong to mouth off to the authorities, too, let's not forget this.
It would seem like common sense not to talk back or aggravate a person with power, no matter what the situation.

Exactly what I was wondering when I saw that video.
My first thought is what that child, who is female, could have said to justify being beaten by a law enforcement official who is a grown ass man, possesses a gun, is twice her size, and is accompanied by another grown ass man, who is twice her size and who helps to hold her down.
That was my first primary concern, and not the pathological, abusive, racist culture that has been fermenting behind the blue wall for decades now. This is a little disturbing because most responsible men have been raised to not beat women, especially when relatively unprovoked and if she is of no physical danger to you.
ESPECIALLY one who is underage. But we all know that cops make their own rules and view our people as animals.

Yep, lets put both on equal footing. Lets blame the victim, a child, to somehow mitigate the reprehensible actions of a grown man who is bound to uphold the law and protect citizens.

Well since pretty much everyone of your posts have continually exhibited the furthest thing from common sense, I guess I am within my rights to do what those cops did to that child, to you.
But I agree in a sense. People of color have to know that their lives are in jeopardy with every encounter by the very same people whose job it is to protect it.
i don't know about all that, sebstar, but i know that if a suspect does as requested and in a timely, efficient manner, then there is little chance of something like that happening.
personally, if i flicked a shoe at a police officer i would deserve any beating the wanted to dish out.
not saying he was right to do that, that is very very bad and i hope he burns in hell, but it didnt have to happen.

Well bro, you being a spineless, gutless coward is on you. If you want to casually justify somebody viciously beating you, your moms, your daughter, or your sister like that then all I can do is pray for your weak soul.
But for the rest of us, we recognize that the beating we saw on tape was as illegal as it was immoral. Nobody has the right to assault someone like that unprovoked. So somehow a little bytch ass badge turns these punk cops into God?
I know you think you're being cute and funny with your alias, but there are actually people that think like you and want to make excuses for such diabolical behavior. Its as scary and the main reason why stuff like that continues to happen.
man i dont know what it is with you, why so serious?
how am i being a gutless coward? is having the upstanding moral fiber not to 1. get into those situations in the first place and 2. having the wherewithal to behave properly around police a sign of a coward? i think not.
it doesn't turn them into god and he is not right for doing what he did, but mouthing off and throwing a shoe at a uniformed officer is pretty horrible in itself.
unjustifiable dude no matter how u wanna slice it.

You are missing the point. This is not about the girl, this is about the cop.
it's about the cop, of course, but i am arguing that it should be about the girl, too.
how can you sit there and say that the girl had nothing to do with what happened? where is her responsibility? she can do anything she wants? i don't know why this goes over your heads.

The girls actions don't warrant a beat down. Not even close.
i don't know why this goes over your heads.
Its illegal to savagely attack people that foot toss their shoe at you. The cops are supposed to know better.
If you still disagree, attack someone like that and watch yourself get arrested and convicted.
of course the girl's actions don't warrant a beat down. no where in my posts did i say this. in fact, i argue that the police office should burn in hell and, at the very least, never work in law enforcement again. this much is obvious to most any human.
the girl's actions, while obviously not deserving of the brutish beat town she received, SHOULD ALSO be condemned because that is just simply no way to behave towards a law enforcement officer. edit: --regardless of how you are being treated. i contend that the safest way, the ONLY way to react to any situation in which one is confronted by the authorities is first- WITH RESPECT...for the best of all parties involved.

i believe she paid for her crimes in spades based on that clip alone, much less whatever charges she was brought up against to have been arrested in the first place... even murder suspects are given more respectful treatment than that dude even tho they may not deserve it... Police officers are supposed to be held to a higher standard... it's their job to protect & serve, not to beat down & abuse.
and what of the citizens of a nation? should we not have a standard for behavior? is there a standard? there used to be.
