It's free. You need to create a google account to use it though. If you have a gmail account already, you can login with that.
gotcha. im stupid w this stuff so one more q - can i create a google account yet still use my roadrunner email account for the actual wave or do i have to use a gmail account?
It's kinda boring with no one else to wave with. You can only wave with other wave users.
Since i don't have any one that i know, i've been looking at public waves.
Type
with:public
to see the public waves.
Public waves are kind of like mini chat rooms.
The "Playback" feature is probably one of the coolest additions. You can watch a wave from start to finish. This is slow with larger waves.

You have to create a new email account to use with wave. Your new wave account will end in @googlewave.com. You can't send an email to an email account from your wave account.
kam - just got your invite. im gonna wave tonite. thanks again for the referral.
kam, email me your id, i'll wave with you

I'll nominate you for an invite.
dude, i don't know what this is yet, but it seems awesome. wave me, or something. i wave you.
I have a coworker that tested this and he wasn't too impressed with the interface, though he said it has made signifcant strides.
And, of course this platform is powerful. It sounds like an upgrade. I just know that I won't buy into a new way to interact on the web.
For example, I still operate in Web 1.0 land. I am happy with email. I am happy with typing ultimateknicks.com into my web browser. I am happy clicking links to get to the articles I want to read.
I haven't changed into RSS feed land. I haven't integrated messaging services into one pool. Whatever, I haven't changed my internet policy and procedure to be Web 2.0 compliant.
I just got a Google Wave invite too and I'm fairly certain I won't use it after that. Honestly, I just don't see how the technology of group interaction is too important to group interaction. I don't see how any of this "revolutionizes" the group experience at all
