Back to the crux of this: The fact remains that those of Greek decent are passionate and prideful people and if you engage them in debate they are likely to respond in an intense way. GKF does this. That is why although I dislike how he has responded to me in a nasty way at times I don't flat out hate the man.

When reading this I come to think of the "nature vs. nurture"-thing. I don't think it is a question of your genes, but a question of the cultures you origin from and the families that raise you. If you put a Greek baby in an Swedish, German, Japanese, whatever family you wouldn't have the same temper problem you speak of.

That's at least my opinion. Sorry for keeping this discussion alive.

Damn it. Why can't I help myself.

Okay, another good post, and it is, but it kind of falls out of bounds of the current "debate" - but, also substantiates my POV all the same (like traits of like people).

I mean, I meant this all as harmless observations, and I think those that take offense are just being sheep to the PC crap we listen to these days...as there is NOTHING insensitive of my comments. I'm even talking about FRIENDS I had made in periods of time of the years...that I am commenting on. Interestingly enough I have emailed two people on this topic and am asking them to read it and give their opinions. I will see what they say and post their comments.

Maybe it will wake up Jimi and a few others who are trashing me over some very benign comments - realistic comments - and inoffensive comments (unless you WANT them to be offensive, well then, thats on YOU).

But, eh, whatever...Knicks playing well, back to them.

Maybe you're letting your passions get the best of you.

ROFL.

Guilty as charged. AS I have alluded to.

As I have said I think some are looking for something in my comments that are not there ---- and some are afraid to actually agree with what I have said.

But, well, it's not up to me what others think... it's only up to me what I think. Whether or not that's a good thing is open to interpretation.

*shrugs*

Knicks playing pretty good.

I see what you mean Cosmic, but it just seemed to me that you were saying that behaviour and genes (when speaking of races) had connections. But yes you could point out that a lot of Greeks are more prone to act upon their immediate feelings. But that doesn't have anything to do with genes IMO.

But I totally see your logic - which isn't racist, but just something you objectively have experienced I guess. It just seems like stereotypes to me; like black people love watermelon.

I mean, I played with and against the whole U16 Greek national team for a week, and I would say Greek people seemed loud and rude from that particular experience, but I can't really say that all Greeks are.

Yeah, okay, I can see where my comments can lead towards that dark side, but they're not meant to be in any way. I still stand by what I had to say. The one of two people I tasked to read this thread have read and replied. When the second replies I'll post their comments. Why is that relevant? I trust them through and through. One I have known for over 10 years online talking about everything you can imagine. The other, is Greek, and we have talked about the very topic at hand, and we have in the past agreed on what I am saying in this thread. So I figure it's relevant, to potentially show some here, that I'm not being the prick they may think I'm intending to be.

Back to the KNICKS. Harrington for 3. Knicks up 2.

GKF started out terrible, he was trying way too hard, but I think he turned into a good poster. I liked him [pause]. I guess he was a little abrasive to ya'll sensitive types
Cookdcokehop @ 11/2/2009 9:59 PM
Some of you posters are just pansies. Who makes a thread rejoicing bc a poster got banned? Bc he was too mean to you or abrasive in his post? It's a fucking forum. SMFH anyway it is what it is, GKF will probably return with a different name and make some of you cry again.

As I tell my Greek friends, its been all downhill for them since the Peloponnesian War and the death of Pericles about 2,400 years ago.

If there's a correlation between (1) peace and love and (2) Knick wins, we're all fucked

They have to be abrasive to keep the grill clean.
