i don't think the actress that played boone's sis was available for the filming so they just said she was content in staying in australia. interestingly enough, boone this time was fine with that. and locke seemed to be more at peace than the ticked off depressed locked in season 1 after being rejected for the walkabout. so both of them, i think, are headed for better times...
charlie tho, i always felt had to die and he will.
what's interesting is that locke was able to walk on the island b/c he believed. and locke2 (i'll tag characters with #2 for the alternate story going on) looks like he's going to be able to walk in LA courtesy of jack.
and it looks like juliet and sawyer will find each other off island as juliet seemed to have flashed to that before she died on island.
What if the whole thing ends up being something Locke dreams up while under anesthesia while Jack is trying to fix his back?
I don't think they would go there but they certainly could.
i thought last night's episode was pretty good. i was wondering in which episode they were gonna bring claire back. now we we'll find out what happened to her. also curious to see how sayid's 'disease' further develops. gonna assume that jack will somehow end up feeling responsible and will result in him having to kill sayid down the road - now the reference to judas in the last supper type promo ad is starting to make more sense to me.
sidenote - for some reason when i first saw claire at the end, rousseau popped into my head. who else has been 'infected'? and how does togo (or dogo? - not sure of the spelling) know jack and claire are siblings? curious to see if claire knows where sun's plane is and if she'll help jin find her.
one thing im finding a bit cheesy is how sawyer's storyline is progressing so far. quit with all the cryin shit and start kickin some ass already broham.

Jacob knew so it makes sense that they know. Jacob was watching over these guys since they were kids. That's deep. Remember the list from the first season. They already knew who they wanted and who they were.

thought exactly the same thing re: rousseau. what happened to her anyway?
i thought russo died at some point in season five.
rousseau died before they got rescued off the island by the freighter folks - so timeline wise, 2004 on the island. we are now 3 years later and in 2007. and she was buried. doesn't look like anybody buried is roaming the island...only those that died but the body is still out.
but it does look like claire has taken on the rousseau role as the one that set the traps and living in the woods.
which then leads to the question - was rousseau "infected" as well?
probably not...but she knew about the disease as she told sayid during season 1. then she also electrocuted him in a similar manner that dogun did in the temple. did she know how to test for the infection as well?
doesn't look too good for sawyer tho - he's in a position to be easily persuaded to join the MIB side.
i also noticed that all the folks the losties encounter in the alternate timeline were people that died on the island storyline: ethan, artz, boone, charlie, rose & bernard (who i think are dead). i wonder what the significance is.
another theory out there is that these are two seperate universes but the losties, which is why there is a charlie in one universe but a dead one in the other. and the deja-vu kate + jack sort of expierenced off the island are happening b/c both versions of them are starting to converge somehow.
ANSWERS...well sort of...
the #'s are our losties...and will hurley end up being the one to take care of the island?
yeah, the numbers thing was pretty cool and a beginning to getting some answers, but as the show has proven in the past, each supposed answer they give you has ten new questions attached to it. the #'s aspect though seems like it's fitting into the 'this is a game' theory. i'd like to know more about what the #'s assigned to each of the losties are all about. is it just a random selection or were they #'ered based on some type of position they were slotted into by jacob and mib during their game?
seems as if sawyer is now the mib's #1 candidate, but we all know sawyer doesnt like to commit to anyone for too long (that is not named juliet that is). i can see sawyer somehow using mib to get off the island then killing him to cover his tracks.
and what about the kid in the jungle that both the mib and sawyer could see, but noone else? the notion i got from those few scenes is that the mib seems to be lashing out against the kid like a child to their parent. not sure of their relationship yet but one thing is for sure - the kid makes the mib pretty uncomfortable - i am assuming the kid represents the 'authority figure/s' who somehow oversee the 'game' and ensure the rules are being followed. one thing that became clear to me is that jacob is not really dead, even though the mib thinks he circumvented the system by taking over locke's body to kill jacob, i still think the rules will ultimately apply and jacob will be brought back to life when they reach the temple (by the chick on the beach who took some of his ash in that little bag).
btw - i'm glad they spent much of the episode taking a deep dive into the life of john locke...and ben linus, the professor, was an interesting twist....locke v2.0 (aka - man in black) is an awesome character.
the little kid in the jungle looked like it could be a younger jacob, but i'm also wondering if that's aaron?
in the end i think it's going to be jack who 'takes care' of the island, bringing him fully from a man of science to a man of faith - a full 180.
also at the end of last nights episode when they were showing scenes from the next lost, it looked like jack was breaking a mirror with a bat or something? possibly how he got the cut on his neck from the alt-reality plane ride?
interesting take by someone...
My crack pot theory:So... We know that they are all candidates for being the next Jacob now.
And that Sawyer is on the side of MIB or going to be by the looks of it.
which means that fate determined jack is going to be the new Jacob.
and as for kate well, shes not on the list, but she was touched which means that she is special and had something to do with this ending, AND WHAT TO OTHER GUYS HAS SHE BEEN PLAYING WITH AND MANIPULATING THE WHOLE TIME??? jACK AND sAWYER
djsunyc wrote:ANSWERS...well sort of...the #'s are our losties...and will hurley end up being the one to take care of the island?
Sawyer will be the next Jacob.
sawyer's pulling a long con on the MIB. they're kinda playing him up to be annakin skywalker of sorts. unless this is a repeat of locke leading sawyer to the brig to kill his pops. maybe sawyer is on the "dark" side?
but i agree that jack is meant for bigger things. dude always wants to fix things and came back to find his purpose. it could be protecting the island.
kate's a piece of tail. that's all i wanted to say about her.
so MIB was a man before so it sounds like there's another force in play here - maybe the person controlling christian's body?

i'm with you - that's where i was going when i posted originally. sawyer gonna give the mib a big FU at the end i feel.
thought this last episode with jack was awesome...but jack's my boy. he will save them all.
claire looks terrible. she was cute, now she's all ranked up. disgusting.
i think the skeletons in the cave are jin and sun.
looks like tuesday's episode is going to be gangsta blood...
there's gangsta blood
and then there's gangsta blood
sayid is GANGSTA BLOOD...
djsunyc wrote:there's gangsta blood

sayid dude.. what the fuck.
that was an epic episode.
sayid + claire + sawyer (i think) are with smokey.
jack + hurley are with jacob.
right now, kate + jin + sun are free agents.
i think we're heading towards jack vs. locke (smokey) for the finale...
while i liked last night's episode, my overall feeling so far this year is that they have taken a diarrhetic approach to revealing things to us. the episodes are action packed, but also feel rushed a bit imho. they are hurrying to give us answers and i think it takes away from the mystique they built over the previous 5 seasons.
with that said, i'm done trying to analyze where they go next, just gonna sit back and watch and wait to see how they draw the final coclusions.
one thing is for certain, sayid is not the guy you wanna get pissed off at you. what was the whole thing with nadia marrying his brother? that storyline is getting kinda wierd if you ask me. also interesting is how they keep showing the characters mesh in the alternate reality thread (i.e.: sayid walking past jack in the hospital, the mercinary guy being the one sayid's brother owed money too, etc.)?
still trying to figure out the alternate timeline stuff.
it looks like that's how life would be w/o jacob's influence and when the island is destroyed, their memories get sent to the alternate timeline versions of themselves.
so when smokey tells sayid he can see nadia, it's b/c he will send his soul(?) to the other timeline.
