Sounds like they killed atleaset 15 people. She was not liked by the Tea Party people(or whatever the heck they are called) if someone did this for the values of the US--we truly have one fckd up country.
Scary. No matter vigilant or secure you are, you still have to watch for the crazies that are alreay inside our borders.

Reports say 12 people injured, conditions still unknown - so 15 killed seems a bit premature.
That being said, they're reporting she was shot point-blank in the head, so...
Latest confirms that Giffords is dead.

Yup, just read. Yikes.
Love the changes in reports minute by minute...

"The suspect ran off and was tackled by a bystander. He was taken into custody. Witnesses described him as in his late teens or early 20s."

Clutch move by the bystander. Hope it was a hard tackle and on blacktop. The shooter - what a degenerate.

Yeah, this is unacceptable. It's one thing when certain things are said during civil discourse, but for things to get taken to this level....

Another report:
"The man was young, mid-to-late 20s, white clean-shaven with short hair and wearing dark clothing and said nothing during the shooting or while being held down. He didn't look like a businessman, but more of a "fringe character," our source said."
Sounds planned.

You hear politicians and talking heads advocating "second amendment remedies". If it is politically motivated, I hope there will be more pressure on people who advocate violence no matter who they are.

Exactly, the country needs to use this as an opportunity to TURN DOWN THE RHETORIC and stop with the ridiculous doomsday hyperbole that is becoming prevalent in politics.
From Martin's huffpo link....
When the Right continues to campaign and speak the way they do certain unstable extremists, are bound to emerge and carry out acts like this every now and then.
She defeated a Tea Party candidate in the last election- you know that must have really angered certain elements in Arizona who expected a victory in the political climate of the past election.
Of course I'm just speculating at this point.

Its particularly disturbing that in a free society someone needs to be executed for a point of view. Perhaps too much Mexican air has seeped into AZ.
I saw that Palin "target" list as well Paladin. I hope the media takes her to task on this until she calls on her followers to tone down the rhetoric.
