The only mystifying thing is that you're comparing team wins to justify a claim about their individual performance. You said Carmelo outplayed Lebron, not that Carmelo's Nuggets outplayed Lebron's Cavs. (It's also mystifying that you included a game Lebron didn't play in, actually). Have you looked at the players' actual stats for the matchups? Lebron averaged 3.8 more PPG, almost triple Carmelo's assists, and 2.0 more RPG.
There are two appropriate conclusions from the box-scores you presented (with only the first one being relevant to the Knicks):
1) Lebron badly outplayed Carmelo;
2) Lebron's supporting cast was badly outplayed by Carmelo's. We've seen how bad the Cavs' team is without Lebron; so this should not be surprising.
So, wait, now individual stats are more important than getting the win? LOL. I would love to have seen you reaction if Melo had the better stats but was 4-9 against Lebron. My guess is then you'd be all about the W.
Sorry I got the one game wrong. Still, Melo is an undeniable 9-4 against King Bron. Throw all the stats you want in my face, I only care about the fact that Melo is 1-0 as a Knick against the Bron/Wade/LadyBaBa Heat.
Find all the ways you want to hate on Melo, it's fine.
JR Smith: 9, Lebron 4. Who's better? You're blinded by your love for Carmelo. I've never been one to emphasize team achievement over individual play when assessing the individual's performance. People following my posts closely have seen that I argued KG was at least as good as if not better than Duncan when both were in their primes.
Oh. You were wrong about KG, too, then.
You're good at making statements but bad at making arguments.
You probably don't want me to show you KG vs Duncan head to head.
As for arguments - I exposed your argument as a house of cards. You argued that the Knicks are building with the same strategy as the Heat, but with lesser players. If the Knicks players are inferior, why do they have a 53-25 record against the Heat's supposedly superior stars?
To that your only comeback is "what's JR Smith's record against nyah nyah"? PLEASE. I hope I don't have to explain to you the impact Carmelo Anthony has on the game vs JR Smith.
Carmelo and JR Smith are 0-0 in head to head match-ups. So they are equal players by your reasoning unless you're abandoning blind interpretations of head-to-head match-ups now.

I remember what Nalod used to call you and it seems appropriate at this moment in time. Good day, sir.
I say keep building, the one thing the knicks do have that most teams don't is a player that can outplay lebron or win a matchup vs lebron on most nights.. and that is melo... use that to our advantage.. Also add a competent big and a younger PG who can defend and dish and we will be fine...

Papabear Says
No we won't be fine. We will still have problems beating LeBron , Wade, and Bosh. Face it they are better than Melo and Amare. If the Heat wins this championship you just might see changes in the way player go to other teams. They just might break up James Wade and Bosh. In the Future the only way 3 superstars will play together will be if they come up through the team's system and the team makes them superstars through thier system. We will need more than Chris Paul in order to beat the Heat. Sorry but that's how I feel. LeBron is a great player and I would have loved to see him play against Michael Jordan. One thing for sure LeBron would be stronger and Wade would be better than Pippen and Bosh would be better than who else they may have. But that Ewings Knicks team would have punished Wade everytime he drove to the basket.
If fans are anything, it's seeing the silver lining in the most godawful thunderstorm you can find. And that silver lining is, one way or the other, in games where they've played, Melo's team has beaten Lebron's team. Is it due to barometric pressure on that night or Lebron just having had a friendly chat with Delonte West, I don't know ...
But if we could only get a rebounding/helping 6'11" player not named Jared Jeffries for a reasonable price, and a blood relative of Gary Payton, then we can be competitive up to at least the ECF.
I don't see how the head to head comparisons are really worthwhile. This Heat team is something differenrt than it was even in the regular season. They're playing really tough and physical and are killing it in close games, unlike the regular season. Their D has been very impressive too. We may elevate our game in the postseason but if we were to play them now, healthy, they would win in a laugher.

Also keep in mind that Wade and Bosh aren't the most durable of players and will most likely have playoffs where someone isn't healthy.
It's possible but we won't beat Lebron plus either Bosh or Wade. Lebron took a NBDL roster to the finals. They have more draft picks than we do to use to add depth too. Amare's also more likely to be injured than Wade or Lebron. I'll root for the team and I definitely want them to win but I see nothing to indicate the management has abandoned its awful starphucking strategy of the past ten years.
Yo, Melo took the Nuggets to the WCF against 10X tougher compettion. On head to head matchups Melo owns Lebron. Amare can destroy Bosh that's 2-0 in favor of the Knicks. Wade alone cannot defeat us their bench sucks as abad as ours and WE can still IMPROVE via combination of trade/free agency. Their draft picks will be the lowest first rounders and they can't trade for jack.
I agree. Melo aganist Lebron favors us in terms of scoring and Amare can beat Bosh. We just have to find a way to match D-Wade's production.
We need desperately to upgrade our backcourt and our center position. Billups is one fall away from being an assistant coach. The shine is off of Fields, who streched his abilities as far as he could, before fading miserably at the end of the season. He is better served coming off the bench. We can win the Amar'e -Bosh matchup and the LeBron-Melo duel, we'll need 12 fouls or at least stiff defense to slow down D Wade.
Chris Paul take less money to play in NY?
LOL keep dreaming.
Better team defense and supporting cast.
