This cannot happen
The Knicks seem to believe this 1 way short Offense guard is the 3rd Star
for the team & has a future in NBA big time.
The fact he scores/shoots and doesnt do anything else has Mike D'Antoni inputs
written all over it.
Why would writers A.Bailey and/or Alan Hahn ink this ? unless they believe the
Knicks interests is genuine to deal and move up for a player they don't need!
Oh well, hope this is garbage rumors

JIMMER F. Impresses NY Knickerbockers

donnie walsh is running the draft. he's not gonna draft someone he doesn't want and with his draft history for us, who is to argue?
Donnie isn't the final word. He is a lame duck "advisor". Someone else will make the final decision. Probably Scott O'Neil and Glen Grunwald.
My hope is they move up and draft Bismack Biyombo.

I would love for them to get Biyombo. My hope is that this draft is about addressing needs and not players that fit the 'system'.
Maybe an unprotected 2017 first round pick w/Fields and Douglas will get this done.
Send TD and the 17th pick to get Jimmer? Sign me up!! Then get 2 tall 6'10"+ PF/C types in the 2nd round and we are in business.

No, he is not. He is still the President of Basketball Operations until after the draft at the end of the month. He will decide on this draft like if he had signed an extension with the team.
I don't get what everyone has against Jimmer. OK he's not D. Rose, but the kid can play. In this system he'd be unreal. The PG on a D'Antoni team is going to get shots and opportunities to setup teammates at an incredible level. Nash shoots at 50%!!! I'm positive that Jimmer could equal that and get plenty of assists. Felton wasn't exactly an assist machine before he came here, but on this team he ended up being a very successful assist man. If Felton can avg. 9 assists, I think Jimmer can do about the same on this team.
Now the big deal is his defense. I think again that if a guy like Nash can be MVP of the league not being a stud defender, it's not out of the question for Jimmer to be successful even tho he's not a good defender. What you hope is that the kid takes it more serious and becomes a good team defender. His not a terrible athlete. Not great, but he's got some speed and agility and he's able to create space. He's almost 6-3!!! They measure him at 6-2.5 in shoes. That and he's very strong benching 180 14 times. So he's got NBA PG size for sure.
If Walsh feels this kid is a can't miss player i'd have no problem with them moving up to take him. For all those who bash Mike they have to at least imagine what it would be like if Jimmer turns out to be the next Nash after all. There's no better system in the world for a PG with that kind of game than this one. Remember the shots Felton used to miss? The open 3's and PnR opportunities would increase for STAT and Melo. Just the threat of Jimmer hitting at a high % would create more space than Felton could ever open up. Part of the reason STAT was so open is cuz Nash shot 50%. You simply can't just leave him open. That's what I think they see in Jimmer. Also that he's smart.
It's Bleacher believe nothing written there. Just a bunch of individual blogging of opinions
This really scares me. I kept hearing about Walsh being extended and the Knicks addressing their lack of size/defense in the draft. Now Walsh isn't coming back and the team seems to have locked in on a guy that doesn't address any of those things. In addition if this is accurate the Knick front office is once again letting everyone know their plan and who their guy is in the draft. This hasn't worked out very well for them in the past. They will either give up too much because they lay all their cards on the table for everyone to see, or improve Jimmer's draft status to the point where someone else picks him. Also, what about the lack of height, defense and rebounding. If you read Beck's article it is looking like the Knicks will have almost no flexibility to fill out their roster because of the money they have invested in some guys. How can you address something like that if you trade another asset to improve your offense and rotation of guards?

Role players! You win with your stars. If they believe that Jimmer will be a Nash type player then you make sure you get that guy. Not saying that this is all true, but if it is, then I don't have a problem with that. You spend assets to get your stars. The more stars you have the less important your role players are. The Heat are proving that. Lebron, Wade and Bosh carry most of the action and the other guys just fill in. I could out there and you wouldn't notice.
Most of the young Bigs coming out aren't really gonna be ready to dominate right off the bat. The guards have it easier in that they can operate in space and have the ball. Jimmer is quick enough to create his own shots, but in this system he won't have to very often due to the PnR.

I get that you are all in with the coach but at some point you have to recognize that defense and size is what is winning in the nba right now. If the organization is trying to win a championship or even be more than a six seed they need to address the huge deficits they have in the areas of size and defense. Steve Nash is not coming here with a fourth all star to make this team almost good enough to overcome all that it is lacking in size and defense.

You seem to be equating us drafting a PG with the team somehow ignoring the need for Rebounding/Defense inside. That is really an overstatement. There are other ways of adding size to this team. Most of the kids coming out this year aren't going to be able to be effective at the NBA level right away, so that wouldn't solve the problem right now anyway. The Knicks are gonna go after vets to fill the void inside.
The idea is that we already have 2 players that are top scorers in this league. Both can be dominant and if you could somehow bring in a PG that can do many of the things a Steve Nash can do, the team is going to be a contender, provided we add the rebounding we need to make sure we don't give up too many offensive rebounds.
One thing i'll say about Jimmer is that he's a high activity player. He's always in attack mode. He's a leader and a winner that is fearless just like STAT and Melo. He's proven his ability and I think if the Knicks feel he can run the point then i'd have no problem taking him. There are other players in this draft that I also think would do a good job for us. It's up to the Knicks to decide, but if it's Jimmer i'd have no problem with it. I think he'd be that good in this system.
This trade would make us even worse on defense and kill our depth. I like Jimmer, but I wouldn't give up that much.
This is not a legit source.

Bingo. This is a non story. Plus Jimmer isn't getting past Utah so we can keep dreaming.

What about the toast at Melo's wedding?? Chris Paul?

an entire internet forum--that's who!
I think this is not something that's set in stone. I think the Knicks could be looking to do something like that, but probably will end up not being able to make that happen. We'll see if they can find a trade partner and who they end up actually taking. They haven't been very worried about playing their hand early in past years, so maybe it is true.

Now I know you're in love with Jimmer Fredette and Mike D'Antoni
Oh boy !
LOL @ Fredette being Nash. Fredette is more like Tony Delk than he is Steve Nash. Fredette is not a PG. Not even close.
