Can't argue with that! Karl is a damn good coach - heck he can even coach Al-Buckets.
good point on Al-Buckets playing exceptionally well for KArl. I went to high school with him

He seems like a fun crazy dude.
btw - Gallo's last game 1-10 from the field - I am still not sold on him - too inconsistent. Fans just liked that he was ours and we drafted him and I hate to say it but NY fans always loved their white players - maybe I'm wrong but I always felt that way.

Karl has some continuity with his roster that MDA has never had. You can't just look at the 2 teams in a vacuum. There are some real reasons that Karl has had more success after the trade. The talent pool he had was always deeper than NY. How many new guys including STAT did we have and how deep was the team after we cleared the decks for the 2010 FA Market? Then mid season we gutted the team AGAIN!!! This really is too much when it comes to finding ways to kick MDA. Karl is a very good coach. The equal of MDA, but he's not a superior coach just cuz the Nuggets have had more success prior to the trade.
Denver's GM has literally stocked his team with depth and since all of his money isn't tied up in just 3 players, he's been able to make sure they have good depth at every position.
Do we have anyone like Miller, Fernandez and Harrington coming off the bench? Lawson and Afflalo is a pretty decent backcourt. We have more talent at the top in STAT, Melo and Tyson, but that's pretty much it.

Good points.
Do you think MDA was for or against the Melo trade?
How about the Chandler / Billups move?
Did he have too much confidence in TD being able to handle the Point?
He gave TD a chance. The longest tenured knick a chance that lasted just a few short games.
Karl had a good team with melo, and a good team without.
Mozgov and Gallo are both a year more confident and better.
Denver has Guards. Lots and lots of talented guards.
We don't.
Last nite the team did no play like a team tuning out their coach.
Amare and Melo were passing the ball.
Bulls are a hell of a team. We might be turning the corner.

What about Carmelo's 0-7 game? Any perimeter player is going to have off nights.
Gallo is not an all star and is paid half of what melo gets.
Is a value statement.
Denver does not have a closer and that will hurt them in a championship run.
But were they going to get there paying Melo the big bucks?
MeloDrama supporters perhaps did not value the lack of balance a big trade brings.
In my mind, those that favored the big trade and call for MDA's head are consistent in reaching for instant gratification but to really support bringing in melo, and perhaps view the higher ceiling with him, has to recognize the short term hit we were going to experience at some level and had to be patient to rebuild around our stars.
MDA is a premium coach but his body of work is flawed for all the obvious reasons.
If the can play like they did last nite with proper ball movement they will go places.
What is stopping them? Melo is not fully bought into it (but he is trying) and a lack of depth in the front court, and the PG position! We have only Jerry Lin. Bibby is cooked.
Conjecture of Phil Jax as savior is unavoidable.

or it's possible that gallinari is still a young player who is obviously steadily progressing..

Anybody can but Gallo does it too often and Melo was obviously hurt thats why he sat out for a few games.

You don't have to have sympathy for the coach. No one is asking that. What we are talking about is the organization that you love, that you want to see win, continues to do the same thing over and over again.
JVG-Defensive coach. Forced him to play Spree and Camby. Got good results. Got rid of Patrick and tried to go youth and running. Team started to lose. JVG left because he was smart and new it was only going to get worse. We drove him out by not listening.
Chaney-Guy screamed for a real PG. Refused to get him one. Got rid of all his centers and replaced them with undersized Power forwards. Finally got him the PG he needed and wanted and then fired him and replaced him with a coach that would fix everything
Lenny Wilkens-Had his team gelling and playing well. Many were afraid to play against us. The national media was talking about how well Van Horn and Marbs were playing together. Just when he got the roster going we ripped it apart and brought in new players. Then we told him to shut up and win with the new roster
Isiah-The only guy that had a GM that actually supported him(because it was him). Too bad he didn't know how to build a team
Mike-Mike and Donnie were on the same page. Donnie had final say in personal decisions but he consulted with D'Antoni regularly. Funny how this is also the time the national laughter stopped. We became an exciting young team that was growing and improving. We gutted that team and replaced it with guys that don't fit Mike and are telling him to shut up and win with whatever he has
Next Coach Woodson?--Are we going to get him players he wants? Are we going to tell him to go f himself and win with whatever players we give him? Are we going to tell him to shut up and adjust your style because that's what Pat Riley did???When are we going to stop this cycle of lunacy and actually get a coach that we support, is the unquestioned leader and can grow with the organization???? Why doesn't anyone think this is important. Players can't win with this constant shuffling. Coaches can't win. We can't win. Why don't the fans demand this cycle ends??? Why do we keep thinking the next guys is the guy that will make it all better???????????????????????
There is no shortcut to winning. You win as an organization. If our coach and GM are not on the same page we are never going to win. Hiring and gutting and firing has never lead to winning. EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Much as I hate to say this, I think you are on a roll with your verbose screeds and that you are largely correct. This is basically a crappy organization, and we're foolish to expect good results from it.
I really don't know why people think Phil Jackson would come here. I'm 99% sure he won't.
Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

Melo also had 11 boards and 4 assists that night. it's all about what you can do when your shot isn't falling. and what about having the wherewithal to only take 7 shots after going 10/30 the previous game? that takes understanding, acceptance and maturation.

We won that game.
Gallo has bad games but contributes in other ways.
If Melo can continue to play well without the ball there is a world of good he can do. He rebounds very well and is very strong.
The sum of the pieces have to add up.
Mike had the pre melo knicks 5 games up and improving until the Drama got ramped up.
Im not sure what fans want?
Winning games or high scoring players?

Do you and Islesfan really contribute to the conversation on this forum? Aside from the short digs that you guys tend to post, what do you really bring to the table. You guys are the last people that should talk on this forum about someone else's posts. You bring next to nothing and are basically the guys in suits at the end of the bench.
If you had any clue you'd realize that D'Antoni is the least of our problems. I defend him from posters like you that lack the BB knowledge to make an informed judgment about what is really going on with the team. No coach is perfect and they all need talent to win. If you have major holes in your roster it's gonna make it harder to win. This team has holes.
Instead of acknowledging that MDA is still in there fighting to help this team win, you talk crap. He could've checked out and still gotten paid, but he's fighting despite the media coming down on him and fans calling for his head. His team is still listening and trying to get better. You've got nothing but venom to spew and maybe we're tired of you blowing yourself, cuz that's all your posts are. Self gratification.
