You don't have to have sympathy for the coach. No one is asking that. What we are talking about is the organization that you love, that you want to see win, continues to do the same thing over and over again.
JVG-Defensive coach. Forced him to play Spree and Camby. Got good results. Got rid of Patrick and tried to go youth and running. Team started to lose. JVG left because he was smart and new it was only going to get worse. We drove him out by not listening.
Chaney-Guy screamed for a real PG. Refused to get him one. Got rid of all his centers and replaced them with undersized Power forwards. Finally got him the PG he needed and wanted and then fired him and replaced him with a coach that would fix everything
Lenny Wilkens-Had his team gelling and playing well. Many were afraid to play against us. The national media was talking about how well Van Horn and Marbs were playing together. Just when he got the roster going we ripped it apart and brought in new players. Then we told him to shut up and win with the new roster
Isiah-The only guy that had a GM that actually supported him(because it was him). Too bad he didn't know how to build a team
Mike-Mike and Donnie were on the same page. Donnie had final say in personal decisions but he consulted with D'Antoni regularly. Funny how this is also the time the national laughter stopped. We became an exciting young team that was growing and improving. We gutted that team and replaced it with guys that don't fit Mike and are telling him to shut up and win with whatever he has
Next Coach Woodson?--Are we going to get him players he wants? Are we going to tell him to go f himself and win with whatever players we give him? Are we going to tell him to shut up and adjust your style because that's what Pat Riley did???When are we going to stop this cycle of lunacy and actually get a coach that we support, is the unquestioned leader and can grow with the organization???? Why doesn't anyone think this is important. Players can't win with this constant shuffling. Coaches can't win. We can't win. Why don't the fans demand this cycle ends??? Why do we keep thinking the next guys is the guy that will make it all better???????????????????????
There is no shortcut to winning. You win as an organization. If our coach and GM are not on the same page we are never going to win. Hiring and gutting and firing has never lead to winning. EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Much as I hate to say this, I think you are on a roll with your verbose screeds and that you are largely correct. This is basically a crappy organization, and we're foolish to expect good results from it.
I really don't know why people think Phil Jackson would come here. I'm 99% sure he won't.
Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
Albert Einstein
You did not just call me a verbose screed. I have beaten men to the ground for calling me nicer things than this

I can't wait for Antoni to go, just so we can stop listening to nixluva blowing him all day.
It's really gotten old.
Do you and Islesfan really contribute to the conversation on this forum? Aside from the short digs that you guys tend to post, what do you really bring to the table. You guys are the last people that should talk on this forum about someone else's posts. You bring next to nothing and are basically the guys in suits at the end of the bench.
If you had any clue you'd realize that D'Antoni is the least of our problems. I defend him from posters like you that lack the BB knowledge to make an informed judgment about what is really going on with the team. No coach is perfect and they all need talent to win. If you have major holes in your roster it's gonna make it harder to win. This team has holes.
Instead of acknowledging that MDA is still in there fighting to help this team win, you talk crap. He could've checked out and still gotten paid, but he's fighting despite the media coming down on him and fans calling for his head. His team is still listening and trying to get better. You've got nothing but venom to spew and maybe we're tired of you blowing yourself, cuz that's all your posts are. Self gratification.
Still in there fighting to help this team win? Team win? Where did you see that? What difference does it make if he's "trying"? Don't try, do. He's failing. Time to move on.
And as for your contribution to this forum, basically, its the same post over and over. MDA is great, no one on this forum except you understands his genius, and its only because he doesn't have a good enough point guard that the team is losing. Yeah, we get it. Did I miss anything?
Poor Mike. So misunderstood. Thank god he has you, you're his knight in shining armor!
nixluva wrote:You bring next to nothing and are basically the guys in suits at the end of the bench.
so basically what you are saying is that D'Antoni should be playing Panos and Islesfan instead of the you and some of the other posters?

You should ask to get on the blog role. I don't think this is the correct way to get your blog noticed. I know guys on realgm get banned for this.
If the rumors are true....
Go Celtics.
I think people are dreaming if getting rid of D'antoni is magically gonna make this team win 10 in a row all of a sudden

Maybe it doesn't but I'd definitely like to see what happens. Can it really be any worse?
New York will not rest until Mike Dantoni is fired.
Bye Bye Antoni! Don't let the door hit you on the way out.
Can all the Dantoni supporters please chime in and tell us everything will be fine?
I don't want him to be fired mid season, but I think you have to let him go now...What is it 11 losses in 13 games? Numbers speak for themselves...

Let me help:
You're just an ignoramus who wants change for change sake.
MDA is a great coach therefore if the the players don't win its all on them because we know MDA is awesome and hasn't forgotten how to coach.
ONce Baron Davis comes back we will be on the road to sucess, but only if MDA stays. There is no other coach around that could possibly do anything good with scrubs like Melo, Stat and CHandler.
There, I summarized anything you would hear from nixluva, Nalod and MarburyCross.
This would be the worst possible time to fire him. Just when the team is finally starting to play like a tem, let's make another of our usual dumb@$$ decisions to fire the coach and get some flavor of the week wannabe to come and make things even worse. - So chances are pretty high this will happen.

As much as I want him gone, I agree. Although we havent been winning we have been playing well and just coming up short. Now is not the time to get rid of him.
Fans calling for a firing are only looking to quell their anger for losing.
Fans are emotional and anger/fear is an emotion.
Fear of regret. They keep losing y'all get to say "see I told you". As if "being right" does any good except to make you feel better.
If team does well, you be in conflict cuz "being wrong" sucks. At some point, the team will falter as they are not championship caliber and then you can say "I knew it, I knew it!"
Then you call for moves that make the team "even better" cuz you were right all along and you know what it takes to build a winner, after all, you understand "winning".
You lose battles to win the war. The war won't be won this year.
Things to do:
Develop shump
Develop Lin.
Get rid of Bibby, maybe sign JR this year.
develop Jorts.
Either extend MDA or you better get PJax. Woodson is a downgrade.
This year, just enjoy some games. Knicks are playing well. Near wins means improvement.
They have to start winning some games, but at least they finally look like they can do that. The last two national TV games were exciting last second finishes. They didn't embarrass themselves on 2 bac2bac national games against good teams with experience and depth.
All I know is that last week they couldn't sniff a win. Now they just had 3 games where they looked like a competitive team. We just got a taste of Lin and i'd like to see him continue to build on his fairly decent game. Also we still have things we can do to add to this team and make a late run.

If D'Antoni's still here for the Nets game, he better play Lin instead of TD...Those stretches absolutely KILL the team...The Knicks had a 9 pt lead or something in the 4th quarter, and by the time he pulled TD, the game was tied! No one is saying Lin is the savior, but give him TD's minutes for Chrissakes...
