Is Carmelo a better basketball player than Bill Walker?

That is all that matters.

Ya but your missing the point. Melo has to let lin lead the team from now on in order for this to work. He also has to flow with the rest of the team. We know amare can do that. time will tell if melo can hopefully he can

Its funny how Amare all of a sudden gets a pass when just weeks ago, there were multiple threads about how STAT has lost a step, doesn't explode to the rim like he used to, doesn't give max effort on defense, doesn't rebound....Now all of a sudden he'll be fine and fit in. Why is that?

Relax Uptown no need to come to melo's rescue lol. Look amare hasn't had a geat year but he was playing much better until his tragedy. also Amare plays much better with a pure pg like nash/felton/lin. Now I didn't insult your precious melo. in fact i said in plain english hopefully he will fit because i want him to fit with lin. But im sorry i cant be like you and kiss his ass all teh time lol

Dude, not one time did I ever insult your intelligence, call you a name, or speak in a rude manner toward you. This is the second time you've done this to me and I'm not havin' it. If this is the way you post, then you can take that shit over to the other board with the rest of the teenagers. You've already been called out by another poster and still, you continue with the insults. You really need to be carefull with the way you post!!!

Well Uptown i have to disagree because you keep saying i say stuff that i never say. i dont like that. So you should just clarify somethign with me until you make judgments. I am the most respectful person out there as long as i get the respect too. No problems thoguh

Highly doubt I've ever said your name in any of my posts or put words in your mouth. Really dont recall that. Regardless, lets just move forward....

eViL @ 2/11/2012 3:34 PM
this thread is really about the perfect convergence of a heady athletic PG and an offensive coaching genius. it's not about Melo. and anyway, if Lin really is Nash2.0, then he'll be smart enough to fit Melo into this.

TD sucked at PG and Shump wasn't doing great as well.

Well said.

More than anything, Carmelo and Amar'e want to win. Whatever errors in judgement or ego were NOT out of character flaws.

You sure about that? What do you think the Denver fans would say? I don't know what to think anymore after seeing Melo take so many bad shots.
I agree that Amare is a team-first player and don't see any character flaws with him.

I don't remember anyone or the Denver fans complaining about Melo in the past? Did the Nuggets do better without him last year? He routinely won 50+ games with the Nuggets every year in a loaded Western conference now all of a sudden he was a problem. Fans kill me.

Were you in a cave?

Nope I wasn't. Did they do better than Nuggets teams of past. they won same amount of games and exited in first round. What was different. Did you hear of any Melo discord in seasons past from his coach or Nuggets fans. How about your impressions of Melo prior to trade.

People's opinions of Melo are mindboggling. Before he injured his wrist I didn't hear any of this.

You're asking did they do better than years in the past? Those teams had a younger Billups, Camby, Iverson, and others. You're introducing way too many confounds.

And the team after Melo had Gallo, Moz, Felton...lol. You just made my point easier. They had the same results prior and after the trade. 50+ wins..1st Round exit. Now they are struggling this year to make playoffs.

Here is what's happened:
Nuggets get much better last year after replacing Melo with Gallo and others.
Knicks get much worse after replacing Gallo and others with Melo.
Melo gets injured and the Knicks get much better.
Gallo gets injured and the Nuggets get much worse.

Maybe Melo can turn things around. He hasn't given me anything to get excited about.

So being 1-5 before DG misses any games and this being Melo's second time missing games(0-2 about a week) means nothing in the Bonn timeline???

I thought Gallo had been out a few games longer. No need to be snotty. The other three statements sadly are all true though (you can't seriously be counting the 6 min game from Melo?)

Anyway, if you want to get in a battle of technicalities, I edited the statement above, which now accurately reflects the Nuggets 5 straight losses.

Well I think this team is better off with it's players and hoping for a Lin to emerge at point guard than the Nugguts are with 10 million invested in Players like DG, Lawson and Nene. Because they are hoping for a Guy like Melo/stat to either be drafted late lottery or signed off waivers/MLE/FA.
