the problem is that when he is doubled he cant force the shots. Also i have noticed that that fake he used to do when he could draw fouls doesn't work anymore. Like i said melo needs to let lin run the offense and melo just needs to worry about getting good shots selections
Melo isn't a point forward nor should he be...Circumstances and the coach dictated that he played that position...He will be a much better player playing his old role... But the coach still has to make it work...We should be running the offense we will use in the playoffs but who am I...
We got to run the offense we have been running the up tempo style works.

The game becomes a possession game in the playoffs...Uptempo can mean lots of turnovers but who cares, I'm not a coach, MDA is...He has the rest of the season to prove he can do as much...
It's unfortunate. Now that Mike is buying back some fan support, blame is being passed down to Melo.
Despite not making a single roster move, this team has been entirely revamped the past week. Yes, most of that goes to Lin, but guys are now hitting wide open shots that they were just missing earlier this year. I've seen Jeffries hit the 18 footer! And there's no denying Fields has his mojo back. I don't think you see quite so many iso's from Melo had guys been hitting them. Plug him into this team that is now radiating confidence and has all the momentum is the world, and you will see something special.
Everyone has to make adjustments. D'Antoni. Melo. Lin. But our ceiling is (L)infinitely higher once we find that "happy medium" Mike talked about.

You can bet that Mike can't wait to have STAT and Melo back. We need as many guns as we can get to go against the Bulls and Heat. They need to get everything all smoothed out and they can use the rest of the season to do that. Having a good PG makes everything flow better and Melo will benefit with that as well.

i agree. Amare is gonna be getting Jeffries' looks and Melo is going to be getting Walker's looks. WAIT. WTF!? WE'RE GOING TO BE AWESOME!!!
Melo has played well with PGs like Miller and Billups and even a ball dominant guard like Iverson. He has 4 seasons with 49 or more wins and has never won less then 43 games (and that was his rookie yr) out in Denver out west. Melo will be fine. A
All the pieces are coming in place for MDA to win and I believe he can. What he lacked on those Suns teams were a stud defensive big man and Nash inability to defend hurt as well. Lin and Shump bring quality perimeter defense and Chandler is a stud defensive big, Jeffries brings defense and length to the wing to play behind Melo and Amare. 3 potent scorers now with Lin and a quality facilitator.
This without Davis who has won in the past.
He does one thing and that's run his system...
I hear the dude makes a mean omelet!

yeah, but the thing is, D'Antoni only knows how to make one kinda omelete. sure, it tastes really good. but he can't make an omelet without eggs. i mean, why can't he adjust. ask him to make an omelet without eggs and it's disgusting. any other coach would at least make it taste a little better.

I watched this coach run players into the ground, let players continue to start regardless of how poorly they played. Poor substitutions, poor clock management at crunch time. Now I'm supposed to forget all that and act like every bit of it was from the lack of a good PG. Riiiight. Its one thing to argue that D'Antoni hasn't had the talent to make a legit run. That's more than clear. Its also clear that there have been times when his players weren't bringing it and neither was the head coach.
Jeremy Lin does not wash away every mistake D'Antoni has made as coach as hard as some of you may try. The only thing Lin validates is that D'Antoni's system runs better with an above average PG. Nothing else.
Besides, most of these "hater" thread aren't coming from "haters". There are very few people on this board who actually want D'Antoni fired on the spot.
Surely, MDA is not without fault. Not even close. But there's enough people here who want him fired because of some flavor of the week POS. but MDA has never had a starting unit worth more than 33 games before last season. When your best player is Avi Lee you ain't winning sheeit.
What NBA coach likes record roster change and uncertainty??? Name a coach that has ever had this much roster turnover and media criticism? Last year he had to work in Felton and Moz and Fields into a new starting five with STAT and Gallo. people seem to forget that Felton struggled and that made STAT struggle. Fields and Moz were both rooks. This idea that MDA is too stubborn or not a good coach is rubbish. Dude won Titles in Europe and could've gotten to the NBA finals with a little luck or a defensive Center.
Now most of the negative crap came during the 2 years when this team wasn't even trying to win as much as get under the cap!!! It's totally unfair and lacking any insight. The dude finally gets the team going and they start the trade crap and his players start being effected. Then the trade caused all kinds of problems. Still they looked ready to start the playoffs. I think there's just a lot of bias that's unwarranted if you look at things clearly.
You are preaching to the choir homey. If it was up to me I would definitely give MDA at least one more year with a stable roster. MDA gets a load of crap because of the first two years when he had a completely bullshit team. No coach could have coached Lee, Harrington, Craw and Duhon to the playoffs. Half the board hates him because he didn't tank, the other half hates him because he didn't win enough. And the truly smart ones amongst hate him for both.

Haters, your always welcome back home!
Its family.
We had no one that facilitates the system he wants.
I love Melo and Amare but those 2 are ballhogs who look to shoot 1st, shoot 2nd, shoot 3rd, pass 4th.
To have a guy that looks to create for his teammates and can also score is what MDA needed.
I want MDA extended. When he was given the right players, his team was fun to watch. It was..is team basketball.

No one doubts that D'Antoni has dealt with adversity, but having to deal with it alone doesn't give him a pass. I'm judging how he
responded to a situation that he placed himself in. Now that the Knicks have found their PG I'm hearing that D'Antoni didn't deserve
the criticism without any distinction between fair and over the top. Maybe if that was made more often we wouldn't have all this "hater" stuff to deal with.
Fair enough. All I was asking is the same people who couldn't stop criticizing him should now try to applaud him. That I don't see happening which basically confirms a negative bias. If he loses it's on him, if he wins it's because of Nash or Lin bailed him out - that's pretty much what I see around here. It's doesn't seem to be a balanced way of looking at things.
All i've got to say is that Boston fans wanted Doc fired and road out of town on a rail and they were saying the EXACT same things that fans here have been saying about MDA. The exact same things!!! Ainge resisted and kept Doc and then they brought in KG and Allen and the rest is history. Now Doc is beloved and respected. Coaches need players and they need some continuity. MDA has had very little of either. ANY coach can look bad when his team isn't good or the players aren't buying in due to selfishness. All we need to know is how this team and last years team before the trade responded to MDA!!! People need to stop holding the 1st 2 years against him as if it was his fault the team was looking to clear cap.
So in this analogy, where is Doc a coach of a title contending that follows his principles to a tee............but never get's over the hump????
Where is his valley of the sun???
or are we suppose to act like that all-star response to his coaching never happened???
Or should not compare Doc to Mike'D??
