Francesa knows nothing about basketball. That interview should be pretty useless.

+1

It can get touchy if he brings up false accusations of Melo that he has read learned from the rest of the uninformed media.

Francessa is the best at what he does tho. ESPN Radio are amateurs.

Time Warner(4:00pm) vs Cablevision(5:30pm)

Not sure I agree with this. I think Mike Fran is a good interviewer but a lot of people on ESPN are very good too. I used to like Collin Cowherd, but not so much anymore. He sounds like he knows almost nothing about sports at times.

I'm not saying he can't do a good interview, just that he's useless when it comes to basketball. His questions might as well come from Mike from Manhassett instead of a person who's supposed to be a little more knowledgable than the average fan.

Very true...But it could get interesting because he has hammered Melo since the trade saying Melo hasn't bought into MDA...Could get interesting...He has a big pow wow with Revis...I wanna see how far he goes...

CashMoney @ 2/15/2012 4:28 PM
Time Warner(4:00pm) - If time Warner agrees to a 53% increase my cable bill goes up but since I don't have MSG I'm not entitled to a rebate??? WTF!

Funny he also said they game customers a few look at the NBA at the beginning of the season...NBA league pass was free for everyone else...

francesa has also complimented melo constantly. he was a big proponent of his trade here.

i disagree about francesa not knowing anything about basketball. maybe he doesn't keep up with the day-day stuff like we do, but he knows the game.

gunsnewing @ 2/15/2012 4:32 PM
Melo just said he knew Lin could play from what he saw in practice. It was just a matter of getting the opportunity. I thought Lin never practiced?

Francesa knows nothing about basketball...Nothing!!...He once said Bill Walton was a better pro than Ewing during a Spike Lee interview...Walton scored a little more than 6000 pts to Ewing 24,000 pts...Francesa will tell u he doesn't watch basketball...

You're right he was eager for the Knicks to pull the trigger on the Melo deal as was all the rest of the media that discounted the young players on the Knicks and never thought the Knicks had enough to get the deal done. Then it got done. Mike always spoke highly of Melo's play in leading Cuse to a national title.

The problem is that just like the rest of the media he was squarely putting the blame on Melo not adapting

gunsnewing @ 2/15/2012 4:40 PM
That was a whole lotta nothing lol
islesfan @ 2/15/2012 4:41 PM
Francesa doesn't know more than the average fan. He just likes being right.

God I hate people like that.

Moonangie @ 2/15/2012 4:41 PM
Mike is sort of a moron. He is asking idiotic questions. How is it he can keep this job?

I know. They need to get over themselves.

After an uneventful Melo interview, looking forward to hear what MSG has to say about Time Warner.

Many of the Players said they saw Lin's talent in practice. It's not hard for the players to notice a good player when they see him playing everyday. This idea that somehow Lin just jumped in with no preparation is a lie. Why did Lin thank Kenny Atkinson and why did they have Lin spend 6 days in the D League and practice on game days to try and speed up his development and comfort with the system? The 6 day D League stint was like a mini camp for Lin. He said that it made a huge difference and he felt comfortable for the 1st time after that.
