You guys creating the blow up the team threads did u consider that for one Melo has sat out for 2 weeks he was going to be rusty & two, the team as it stands now is going to need time to get accustomed to playing with him and vice versa Melo is going to need to see where he fits in. Give them til after the Allstar break to get some practice in and come out blazing. And what happens to all these threads when we beat Atlanta and Miami?
I agree and i think Melo becomes a great fastbreak and PnR or PnP partner with Lin. These 2 eventually become a top duo in the league. Chandler continues his role as dominant defender with a roll in the offense strictly as a PnR weapon. Not sure what happens to Stoudemire or how he fits in all of this, but i hope he figures it out.
STAT is going to have to start consistently hitting his jump shots to spread the floor like he did last year. I think last night proves that the Lane is crowded with chandler and Melo so our offense is not going to be about Amare dunking over people in the paint like last year. It will happen just not as often. Plus Amare didn't do any basketball related conditioning in the offseason because of his back so he got off to a slow start. Just when he started getting his legs and explosiveness back his brother died and he missed a whole week and obviously is not healed yet emotionally. Who would be? With that said he looked better last night so the Knicks be be alright

It is NOT Stat's offense. It is his D E F E N S E. Rebounding? He had four last night.
Lin had 7.
You do the math.

7 - 4 = 3 championships in the Lin Dynasty
also the entire Nets team made a ridiculous amount of threes. Some of it was luck but most of the time they were left wide open. Knicks really missed SHUMPERT's defense on the perimeter

You should know by now that a lot of Knicks fans never let facts get in the way of hysteria.
Today's back page headline of the NY Post "Marsh Melo"
So ridiculous and irresponsible. Of course he's going to to be rusty not playing for 2 weeks. I'm sorry we're being a little unfair.
Carmelo Anthony probably feels like he's got a lightning rod on his back.
The Media is almost HOPING that Melo doesn't work so they can have more juicy articles to write. It's crazy but this town is so used to failure and drama that they don't know how to deal with a successful Knicks team. If this team actually gels and makes a deep playoff run maybe that will change, but you can almost sense that the media hounds are at the gates just waiting to pounce if things don't go well immediately.
Fear And Resentment

The fact that it is the NYPost should cause little concern. Their agenda is as transparent as their politics.

I created one so I will respond here. I have no issues with Melo I think he will work with Lin. Amare is scaring me, and I hate to even bring it up with his family tragedy in the backdrop but at some point he has to show he can still play like Anare is supposed to. I haven't seen that all season, or since the trade. IDK what's wrong with him but I am scared. Maybe he should have taken longer to come back. I would happily take any sign that the dude is back to his old self. I feel bad for him. But I also feel alarmed about our future if this continues.
Low I definitely understand everyone's concern with Amare. I just think it is in our best interest to see how things play out this year. You can't trade guys when their values are low. If Amare doesn't improve then you can explore trading him in the off season. His value isn't going to get any worse. I'm sure there is a team like the lakers or the magic who will take a chance on himvsince he will only have 2yrs left on his deal. I would just let this play out because i think it will work

Amar'e's value is low relative him, but I really don't buy the notion that his value is low in absolute terms. He's 18/8 on 45 percent. Obviously you expect more out of him. But really it's all about his percentage and he's proven to be a much better shooter than he's at right now. Maybe he never gets back to 53 percent. But I think it's nuts to think he stays at 45
like you said, there are teams that would welcome him. More importantly, there are owners that would love to have him. With their being a salary floor now, I could see the Sacramento owners asking if Amar'e is available if/when they get a new stadium. And, like you said, his value probably goes up in the offeason with less due on his contract
So selling low is a bad idea and I agree with that. But holding on to something for it to recover in value may not be the smartest thing to do either. You need to know when to hold and when to fold. Sometimes it makes sense to cut your losses and move on. No two people will likely agree on timing of these things but I am worried that the decision point on Amare is approaching fast if not already here.
Again I would love nothing better than to see him get back in groove. But it seems less and less realistic with each game. I don't think it will be so easy to move him in the offseason. No one is just going to take him without trading all kinds of junk back. Guess we will have to see what he can bring over the next month or so.

lol..thats funny..Well rose miss roughly the same amount of time and didn't miss a beat..melo played well the 1st 2 weeks of the season, since then he's been just as bad as Amare..maybe worse
Has anyone actually said that the sole basis of their critism of Melo was last night's game? Where do you guys get these thread ideas from?
