After watching him in person last night the truth is so painful as he is slow. The game has not passed Baron by, it has lapped him. When guards (cough) Willie Green and Jeff Teague blew past our backcourt, Baron was left like Biz Markie - with the vapors.
If our backcourt cannot do a better job of dictating pace, the whole equation is out of sync. Baron walking upcourt is nearly as painful as Toney Douglas walking upcourt.
Something is wrong with Tyson Chandler. He seemed distracted and out of rhythm. Please do not let it be an injury.
On a positive note, Iman Shumpert is showing signs of becoming a machine on both ends. When Shump is on the court, our defensive tenor changes dramatically. The driving layups he was bricking earlier in the season are now works of art.
The form on his jumper is worthy of a Norman Rockwell painting. The orange kicks are a nice accent.
Steve Novak came out to warm up for the second half and did not miss a single three. Not one. Automatic.
I went hoarse screaming for him to get the ball.
Major props to my Knicks people.Blue and orange was everywhere. The Hawks resorted to placing cheerleaders in the New York stronghold behind the basket on the Knicks end, near the bench. The organist wore his fingers to a nub pounding on the keys to drown out spontaneous chants of "defense" and "let's go Knicks!"
There was an abundance of Lin jerseys and a wildly diverse crowd, representative of NYC, was there to support the team. Young and old, every hue imaginable. It was a beautiful thing to greet total strangers with a smile, high five or clever comment.
We own Atlanta.
Next time.
Sounds like you had a great time in spite of the outcome.
My disappointment with Baron is not his speed, I figured he will be slower with his injuries and age, but the fact that it seems he does not know how to manage a game. It really is perplexing when Tyson and Novak were not getting any touches for a good part of the game.

BD has terrible shot selection. For half his shots, I'm wondering WTF is going through his mind.
I Miss Lin

nykbocker - It is a crime that Steve Novak had one shot attempt. We desperately need a third double digit scorer. Tyson Chandler should average 15 a game, minimally.
The ball movement actually picked up the moment Baron gave it up.
His relentless pounding in one spot is maddening.

He always was a chucker. Except when he was on the Cavs they would go in against us

These 2 points really is a head scratcher. While I never saw Baron in a consistent basis, the impression I got from Baron's play over the years is that he is a level below Nash and CP3. What a letdown.

Davis is an outstanding passer. He sees the game very well. He tries way too hard to show off, though. If he had Steve Nash's mindset, he could have been a special player.
Baron hasn't had the luxury of running with his teammates all year he is still just getting back and learning where guys like the ball and their limitations. With that said Michael Kay & Steven A. Smith are idiots
Baron is a two time all star.
Had motivation spikes and lows, injury problems and not known as a leader type.
Im sure we all view him in the most positive light as he seems on the bench during linsanity to be enjoying the role of a role model to help. He comes off a bright guy who knows what he wants and personable.
In a recent game he looked like a guy with a bad back and resorting to lots of junk trickery to be effective. The shot is not falling and its pretty evident he can't penetrate as he used to.
I saw him a bit when he was in Charlotte with the Hornets and he was amazing. DWade like in his youth.
Man this board is so quick to jump to the conclusion that guys are done. His decision making has been pretty spotty, but it seems pretty clear that he hasn't been 100% and I think he was taking alot of shots because the Knicks need a second scorer w/ Amar'e out. He definitely needed to realize that he was hurting more than helping though, but anyone calling for TD to get burn over him, like I saw in the game thread, is ridiculous.
JR has gotta be the guy to step of his scoring and stop with the pull back bricks. He's one of the top 2 athletes on this team and I don't understand why he doesn't take it to the rack and draw some fouls.
Rust Never Sleeps

Nalod - unfortunately, Baron of March 2012 is not the two time all star.
The same instincts and fundamentals Davis played with nearly five years ago should still be embedded in his basketball brain. - Keith Schlosser, NYT
He is so slow off the dribble that our offense grinds to the speed of an elder using a walker.
When he finally gives up the ball it is a relief.
Trickeration is like crime. It does not pay.

I got to see him last year in Cleveland in Melo's second game. It might have been Baron's first as a Cav. He looked really good in that game and was part of the reason the Knicks lost. He hasn't looked like the same player but I keep hoping he is rounding into shape and into a rythm on the court. The Knicks may need to pick up a point.
I think Baron is trying to do too much and that is at the cost of his teamates. Lin seems to spend most of the first 3 quarters getting his teamates involved. If things aren't going well with his teamates, THEN he starts taking over. I wish Baron would do a bit of the same. He just looks terrible one minute and great the next, he needs to play within himself.
The other thing is Baron really, should only be playing 15 to 20 minutes a night.

His decision making has always been bad, even when he was awesome. With that said, he's done an admirable job holding the fort down, given all circumstances. His game is what it is. His game itself is like Marbury's.... except Baron seems to be the much better teammate and clubhouse presence.

That would be a smart career move.
I think the big 3 in Miami will be broken up once Lebron & Bosh choke again in this years playoffs

That's not entirely true..Baron has had his physical struggles the last few games but he has managed parts of the game very well in the past ...There were games Clyde lauded him for it and also said he isn't looking for his own shot enough..Novak isn't a secret anymore, he can't get open on his own, can't blame Baron for that..
