Knicks · And who said the Nets are in trouble. You better look again. If they get Howard they'll be the team to watch in NY. (page 1)

Papabear Says

I hope they don't get Howard. We will be in trouble and they may not get New York Knicks fans ahhh not all of them anyway. I beleive there will be a lot of fans that will give up on the Knicks and root for the Nets and even go to some games. They won't quit being Knicks fans but they just won't follow thier games and won't go pay to see Melo hog the ball and Amare missing shots and having the ball slapped out of the butter finger hands. Please excuse Papabear but I thought we was going to upgrade a little bit but it don't look good. I still love the Knicks but Dolan don't really care about a fan like me.

jazz74 @ 7/5/2012 7:43 AM
well, i didnt happen when we had eisley and shannon anderson and j kidd was running the best show in the east in the early 2000's. knick fans are die hard. they will stay though it has been a heartbroken journey and it looks like there is not relief any time soon with this group that we will be stuck with for three more years.
misterearl @ 7/5/2012 7:46 AM
Papabear - there will be attention to Brooklyn because it is still New York. When you say "a lot of fans will give up on the Knicks" you are both vague and incorrect. First, they were not authentic Knicks fans to begin with. Second, how many is "a lot"?

Third, Dwight Howard is a crybaby who has never seen the pressure of the big city in the land of strip malls in Orlando.

Glen Grunwald is not done and this is July. Carmelo is in the gym and somewhere Tyson Chandler is pumping iron.

Enjoy the Summer.

If the Nets get Howard the Knicks wont see the back page again. We will be afterthoughts with no finical flexibility and stars who dont fit together.

The word "stars" belongs in quotes when describing Melo and Amare.

Gimme a break.

If they get Howard. Brooklyn has almost nothing to offer Orlando and another team can easily put together a better package, even if it's just to rent Howard for a year.
Gymkata @ 7/5/2012 8:07 AM
The Nets package sucks and presuming that rival packages aren't that much different--why would Orlando 1) capitulate to the guy who is nuking their franchise and 2) play a role in assembling yet another super-team in the Eastern Conference that will torture them for years to come? Ship his ass to the West Coast.
holfresh @ 7/5/2012 8:10 AM
Orlando isn't trading Howard without Turk's contract going with him..If the Nets can magically(pun intended) fit that in their cap numbers then yes, it's a possibility..
crzymdups @ 7/5/2012 8:13 AM
I keep saying I think the Lakers for Bynum is the only deal that makes sense for Dwight. Actually think Nash only makes that more true.

Lakes could do a one for one....Bynum for Dwight straight up.

True..Depends on where the Magic want to go from here...Bynum for DHow doesnt make them as competitive, so they will be shelling out lots of dough for a team that barely playoff worthy, u know, like the Knicks...

gunsnewing @ 7/5/2012 9:14 AM
Lakers
Jmpasq @ 7/5/2012 9:22 AM
No chance of the taking Amare right. I mean the worst thing that happens is we lose the contract. Once Howard started playing here with the fans and how loud that building gets no way he leaves
EnySpree @ 7/5/2012 9:25 AM
The nets are already a good team on paper without Dwight Howard.....Knicks just gotta fill in the holes and get better

Gerald Wallace 10 million , Brook Lopez 12 Million, Humphries 8 million , Brooks 1 million

31 Million

Howard 19.54 million Turkoglu 11.82 million

31 million

Jmpasq @ 7/5/2012 9:44 AM
What I dont get in all of this is why no teams have attempted to sign both Humphries and Lopez. Raptors tried to CBlock us with Fields. Why are Lopez and Humphries helping the Nets get Howard. They should be out there trying to get contracts. If they sign an offer sheet the Nets are stuck. Humphries and Howard have the same agent.i think Humphries hasnt done anything because of that. Its within the rules tampering

The whole point of trading Hedo is they get the last two years of his terrible contract of the books; Gerald Wallace has a terrible four year contract, why would Orland do that? Also, paying Brook Lopez $12M/year is awful.

Its the second year Humphries hasn't garnered interest and it shocks me. He is a great rebounder and his game is underrated. I wish the Knicks could get him. I don't get the lack of interest. He would be a great fit for almost any team. He singlehandedly (maybe Shelden Williams helped a little) manhandled the Knicks front line during Lin's second game against the Nets when DWill went off.

he has found a nice role- kardashian aside - I would take him to help our front court.

Maybe he could even help Amar'e become a better rebounder. Like, when Woodson's playing Humpries in the 4th and Amar'e is sitting, he'd get motivated to learn how to go after rebounds!

Nalod @ 7/5/2012 12:31 PM
What many of you are missing is Dwight is done in orlando, so its about getting the most value.

THey are screwed either way.

Doing a deal with Bynum is problematic cuz he is immature bone head with injury problems and will command a max deal.

The Nets deal has many smaller pieces and they can work with that. Im not sure about TurkeyGlue.

Dwight could just play out the contract and go free agent.

I could see him sitting out half the season and letting his back "heal".

ORlando has a problem. They need to move the dumbass.
