Two athletic bigs Plumlee /Mahimini and Gerald Green. They did give up Collison but adding that defensive size with Mahmini is akin to what we did with Camby. The Pacers are a team to be reckoned with.
Once they give up Collison, who is their PG outside of Hill?
Has Felton been signed yet?
That was exactly what I was thinking, they are much younger, and more versatile than us.
Those 3 are great pickups, DW trying his best in assembling a team to compete with the Heat and the elite teams.
Yep, i must admit Pacers look very nice except for the PG position.
I don't consider George Hill a real PG, a 6th man combo guard.
He is not good at facilitating and Pacer's can become stagnant, and a jump shooting team, without a true #1 option.

ah-HA! Donnie always like him.

That's what happens when the owner is behind you, not in front of you.
So they brought in 2 back up bigs and let their best true PG go and that's good?

LOL James Dolan did both,
he stepped in front of him in middle negotiations with Denver, flipped and bent Donnie right over from that day on for another year.
to shut Donnie up, he payed DW, a "consultant fee" for an entire year, so people would forget.

Eh, Plumlee is a major league project who had hard time being relevant in the ACC and Mahimini is nothing to get excited about. Gerald Green looks like he's getting stuff together tho. Still, it's too early to start singing Donnie's praises.
Ehh, I wouldn't call it a roll yet. Some decent moves, but don't think the Heat, Celtics, or Knicks are losing sleep going up against Ian Mahinmi, Plumlee, and Gerald Green. If anything they might've went a step backwards, because George Hill isn't a true PG.
D Walsh is on a roll........
Ester Role!
Nalod's done gone crazy!
I have to say - I don't love that trade for Indiana. I thought Collison was pretty darn good for them. He led their team in PER in the playoffs.
If Indiana gets Felton or Mayo it makes a little more sense. But Augustine, another name they're supposedly chasing, doesn't really make sense to my mind.

I agree but George Hill took over the starting job before the playoffs started.
So Collison was playing backup minutes, sometimes barely playing.
I think Hill isn't a PG and they are putting him in a position to fail, like TD but not as bad.
Lance Stephenson or is another combo PG.
Their team is stacked with great size, athleticism, versatility, and depth in every position though.
If they can add a decent PG that can facilitate to that roster, they would be very deadly.
Most importantly, their payroll would be half ours, with future assets with picks and players.
Hill
Paul George
Granger
West
Hibbert
Lance Stephenson
Orlando Johnson/Green
Gereld Green/Tyler Hansborough
Mahimi/Tyler Hansborough
Plumlee/Mahimi
They are way under the cap, can still add 2 quality guards and have players to trade to improve their roster
Felton/Sessions/
Mayo/Lee/Foye
IF they add these players, I think they would have a much brighter future than ours, younger, more athletic, bigger, and the much more balanced team.
I found that trade a bit questionable. Moving a legit starting PG, one of, if not the most important position on the court. I'm sure DW will do a good job salvaging it but at the moment it doesn't seem like a good look imo.

I don't think West is part of the future plans in the Pacer, his contract ends this season.
It all depends if they can sign or trade for PG and another G.
Having mobile, versatile, athletic, BIGS is a must now, with the way the League has changed.
Their G/F are all the same, so it is a multiplying affect.
If they add a PG/G like Felton, Sessions, Mayo, Foye, Lee
and trades are all possible with their players and future picks
I like what Donnie Walsh has done with the team, his BIGS are set for the present and future.
If Dolan would have just let him complete his job and not get involved with the trade, who knows what could have been...
The Coach, decide George Hill was going to be the starting PG late last year, over Collison.
I didn't like this move, but we aren't the coach...
So Walsh, is working with the coach, while building on their future BIGS
Lets see how the Pacers do this season, Collison played well for them I don't know why hey got rid of him, and Walsh didn't do anything spectacular in NY other than clear cap room ok , Amare was coming to NY because nobody else would give him 100 mil for 5 years with no insurance and if Dolan didn't step in it is possible Melo would be a Net because he was not leaving money on the table and going to free agency, Donnie also hired Mike Dantoni and look how that turned out and he sucked as a coach and don't blame Melo because there were plenty of times during his tenure here before and after Melo that I saw Dantoni get out coached and not adjust his lineup because of his stupid "system" that only works if you have an all star point guard and young athletes to run up and down the court as well as knock down shooters.

Oh, Jimmy Dolan was behind him alright, way way behind him in the dark room shagging up to Isiah Thomas
It was a fair trade - mediocre pg for mediocre big. With Hibbert coming back and Plumlee on the roster (who I think will be a pleasant surprise), I think they would have been better off keeping Collison for the depth at pg than acquiring Mahimi.
It's amazing what can happen when your GM is allowed to his job.
