Knicks · If the Knicks let Lin go, I might be done. (page 3)

All the work Donnie did to give us the chance to acquire young talent in their prime and all we get is a broken down Amare who doesn't fit with Melo & Tyson and Raymond Felton and a bunch of 40yrs. One young player with potential in shumpert who is injured and soon will be traded. WOW I can't believe the torture I put myself through with this team

Donnie was great he really made tge knicks into a exciting young team i just wish he was able to finish the job until dolan screwed him

The only saving grace is if we somehow get chris paul evebthough we have no assets to offer. No picks, no Lin, no yound talent. We are not winning anything next year buy the time Paul comes Amare will be shot. Tyson will be older and then we will need another year to gel. As teams like the Heat and OKC rack up championships

This should prove more than anything that this situation isn't about the money, it's about Dolan's ego.

I was looking forward to having a hall of famer like kidd tutor Lin and help him become an elite pg. Even if he has nothing left to give on the court. You have to think that is what he was brought in to do. The defense is set with Camby now the offense takes a huge step back as we no longer have that 3rd scoring threat and we dont know what to expect from Amare.

Attaboy, you got the quote right! You earned a Scooby snack for that one!

Now you can work on getting that "walking and chewing gum at the same time" trick down pat next.

Exactly its like trading Camby & Spree all over again. His ego got in the way of the good of the team AGAIN!

Seriously, back off that ledge...it'll be ok.

Instead of getting distraught over rumors and speculation...maybe hold on until they've actually let him go. Or better yet...wait until summer and training camp is over and they actually start playing next season. It's hard to predict how good or bad a team will be on paper...and they're not even done assembling the team yet. And as of now...we don't know if Lin will or will not be a Knick. I get your frustration though about trading away the youngins...and I think it's clear we're no longer in a situation where we are going to invest in developing young talents or rebuilding in that way. It's not something that will ever work in NY.

Does it suck that we always seem to have to give up more in trades than what we get back? Yes.
But it seems they actually have a direction now and a team with a lot of experience, albeit older. Why not see it through before throwing in the towel. Lin is an exciting player we all clearly love the guy but all he is at this point in time is a gamble. Ultimately there is nothing wrong with being a fan of the Knicks and being a fan of Lin wherever he plays.
The only real remedy to this kind of situation in the end is winning. If we win, everything will work itself out. If we continue losing, then feel free to plant that white flag. But you wont know until they actually play again.

We are talking about a guy who will average 11 inefficient points on 40% shooting 20 something % from 3. Who a few years ago couldn't get major minutes in Charlotte with Larry Brown as his coach because he could not run a halfcourt set and get everyone involved. He was let go by Denver in favor of Lawson and started on a team with Lamarcus Aldrige, Crawford & Camby and had an atrocious year statistically. A year that is more in line with his career averages, Basically you know what you are getting from Felton and the big 3 of melo, amare & tyson is not good enough to compete with Miami, Boston, OKC, LAL, San Antonio, Indy & Chicago
What about Lin his numbers arent inflated by Dantoni and being allowed to shoot as much as possible . Why is it Feltons numbers that are inflated but not Lins who by the way have virtually the exact numberes starting

Lin is a superstar. Did you see how tore it up in Golden State. He used to regularly give Curry and Ellis the business in practice.

Oh Wait.......................

I do not hate Lin man. I dont think he is as good as some of you make him out to be.

Dudes slobbing him down like he was a rookie who burst onto the scene. The guy spent a year riding the pine in Golden State before being cut TWICE. He was about to be cut a third time and began balling. He was playing like he had nothing to lose and broke down.

I predict Lin become a decent player but I dont think he can sustain Linsanity stats for an 82 game season.

Lin's numbers were 14 & 7 and he still shot well and took over some games. It wasn't so much Dantoni quitting but amare & melo returning to the lineup and we were 6-1 beat Indy twice. Showed he could play in the halfcourt with both Melo & Stat once the Dantoni/Melo problem was solved. Oh and did I mention Lin was only 23?

CrushAlot @ 7/16/2012 1:04 AM
Lin was an economics major and graduated from Harvard. He fired his agent and signed on with a shark. He recognized that this might be his one huge contract in the nba and he went all in. He was smart enough to sign with a new agent. Do you think he had a momentary lapse in judgement and didn't recognize that the revised version of his contract would be prohibitive because of the cap for the Knicks to sign him? Lin was looking out for Lin as he should. Switching team allegiance because the team you root for didn't want to get crushed by a contract for a guy coming off a menisus injury and a 25 game good stretch seems a bit dramatic in my opinion.
