Knicks · Real or Hype: The Knicks are the NBA's best team so far. (page 1)

nixluva @ 11/6/2012 2:11 AM
I could see this coming before the season. Just looking at how they were putting this team together you could see the plan. FOR THE 1st TIME YOU COULD SEE IT!!! This team was built to do what Woody did last year in the 18-6 run but for an entire season. If you want to defend on the highest level you have to load the team up with Defensive talent and vets that know how to get it done and that's what they did. Adding the PG's we have gave this team a group of Floor Generals that don't make a lot of mistakes and now how to execute at a high level. It's mainly just basic BB but on a high level. Woody won't let them slack off and that's really important, but even more there are a bunch of vets that won't let the team slack off either. THIS IS REAL FOLKS!!!
FoeDiddy @ 11/6/2012 2:16 AM
They are for real but NBA's best team so far is pretty premature at this point. Want to see them against another Miami Heat caliber team. They are real though in terms of being a upper third tier team.
TRU @ 11/6/2012 5:43 AM
Real talk

I would run through the streets in my underwear if this team won a championship.

I would remove said underwear if this team won 72 GAMES.

The Knicks are for real. I don't buy that we can't keep up with our 3pt shooting. We're not forcing up shots. Besides aren't NBA players supposed to knock down wide opem 3's?
misterearl @ 11/6/2012 6:40 AM
Exactly

The ball moves faster through the air than by dribbling.

Most pros can make an open shot.

Nalod @ 11/6/2012 6:50 AM
Since you asked, I'd have to say we caught Miami napping and I'd dare to remind everyone Miami lost to the Bucks and the Wiz TWICE last season.

We beat a 76er team twice who maybe having problems.

Not going to tell anyone to chill out and not enjoy this but lets see how this sorts out with some other competition. Its a long season.

Sorry, Im a damaged Knick fan. This does not go away after 3 gams.

In years past we would have lost to a napping Miami team and split with the not 100% Sixers. It is a long season but it's going to be an exciting.

nalod - no need to apologize. Sorry about the acne. You are not a damaged Knicks fan. You are a chicken-liver hearted "sky is falling"/ woe is us, stuck in the past, scared of your own shadow, crybaby.

Last season was last season.

24 assists and only 7 turnovers with a brand new rotation and a coach who don't play dat.

The Answer Man is having a blast.

JamesLin @ 11/6/2012 7:20 AM
Too early to tell, plus it's just regular season, and 2 of the 3 games were against a lowly Philly. I wouldn't count on this. But from the three games, I can tell you something not new to us: Carmelo and Amar'e are better off on different teams.
holfresh @ 11/6/2012 7:31 AM
It's really nice to see the Knicks play real team ball..But let's not get carried away with these wins...We are knocking down some threes, playing great defense and Melo can get u two points whenever we need it...These can translate into wins very easily...Still very early to say how good the Knicks are...If we are really going to compete, we need another dominant scorer and that's Amare...Wins are nice but a deep playoff run and getting to a Championship is what this team is built for...Melo is going to need some help there...We struggled in the first quarter when Melo was doubled..At that point Felton was the engine that broke the Sixers down...I love Raymond, but we are going to need more than Ray to really make some noise...We need at least two guys who cannot be stopped...Get healthy soon Amare....

I said in another happy thread that I was happy for y'all and the games have been good fun to watch.

Y'all can run with this as high and far as you want.

On this thread I was asked if it was hype. All I am saying is its hype to me at the moment. Give me Boston, Give me a road trip, give me about 20 games. Im not saying its GOT to end, Im just enjoying the games.

Looks like the Answer man fell in the gutter and lowered the bar. Nalod is not riding the bipolar coaster with the fragile xanex chewing Kool Aid sniffing fans.

The key to this poll is to read the question and then answer.
Doesn't ask if they are going to win a championship
Doesn't ask if they are going to go undefeated.
Doesn't ask if the sky will eventually fall.
Doesn't ask....

Simply asks if they are the best team so far

Read the question and vote...

And with this post, nixluva, you are officially off my block list.

I know a bunch of you are scorned, but I love ultimateKnicks because its about Pure Knicks Love, not Pure Knicks Reality.

Maybe we need a kool aid section, where uk used to be all kool aid all the time.

The only way the team can succeed if we believe they will and support it blindly.

Lets go Knicks!!

VCoug @ 11/6/2012 7:48 AM
After only three games it's still hype. They need to show that they can sustain this level of play over an extended period of time. Plus, we have to see what happens when Amare comes back. If they can keep this up through the Amare injury, and when Amare comes back he moves to the bench, I'll consider it real. But, if Amare returns to the starting lineup when he's healthy they'll have to prove that Melo, Tyson, and Amare can all play at the same time.

But there is no hype either...who is talking best team in the league or Championship?...No one I have seen...

babyKnicks @ 11/6/2012 7:55 AM
Knicks Currently best team in league. Just my humble opinion.
misterearl @ 11/6/2012 8:00 AM
It is reality (3-0) AND hype... Because this is Noo Yawk!

Beat Dallas

Charles Barkley said there are three things that championship teams do well: (1) defensive rebound, (2) shoot FTs at a high percentage, and (3) get and A:T of 3+

So the next are for real, with the caveat of 'right now'. Hopefully the team can sustain playing this well

Sober look at 3 games. I love the fast start out of the gate but its a long season. I'm happy too, but other teams will find their stride as the season progresses. We have to keep playing hard and hope we can stay healthy for the most part.

Gustavo - ever consider what happens when the Knicks find their stride?

Sheed knows.
