its all in the sell isnt it? Im perfectly comfortable with living and dying with the success of the team. We lose the team wasnt good enough. We win we were the better team.

Seems to me there is a lot of chatter around here that really finds it important to show prove illuminate dictate establish and bludgeon us all with the notion that the improvement starts and lives with Melo, that he is an MVP, that he is the differnce maker, that he is a natural born winner and true leader.

You cant have your cake and eat it too can you? If you (generic folks) want to call Melo MVP and difference maker and the motor that drives this ship then you can damn well deal with shouldering the burden of failure no?

So yea.. If Melo is all those things and Dereck Rose's Bulls knock us out in round one all those desperate to prove the above can shove it up their backsides. Whats really sad is those same people assume that the rest of the HATERS actually WANT that scenario. Pathetic but it tells you the mindset.

when the team wins it's because melo is all that and more. when the team loses it's that melo's teammates didn't step up. it's a no-fault scenario which as you point out is ridiculously biased. and his fans are an exact reflection of this abdication of responsibility.

I'm not trying to discredit Melo just stating the fact that he is not very athletic. If he could be as efficient as Durant from the outside he would elevate himself to superstar status. He would be averaging 50% FG like Lebron and Durant not 45%. He is not athletic enough to average 50% as a 4

That was not really pointed at you that was really a use of your quotes to point out a flaw in efficiency or hanging everything on efficiency.

Also, I believe Melo is shooting well from outside his problem this year is that he is not shooting up to his norms in terms of at the basket shots. it is way below his normal I think its around 51% when its usually 58-63%

yep and you gotta figure the reason is he had been playing against 4's. Whereas when he plays SF usually bullies the opponent

Not really when it comes to his OREbs because he is usually matched up against the teams 3. Another thing is that he has had a lot of just bad misses at the rim that rolled off. I will say this though he boxes out(if you call it that) well which frees up boards. He could try to go after boards though and my pet peeve is his face guarding box outs on D which irks me so much. Just turn your body around and use it but no he holds his man. I am surprise he doesn't get called for this.

I do agree with your overall premise of Amar'e improving the team in a major way. I think he will be better on D and the physical pounding that Melo took as a 4 will help him too. Lebron James doesn't even like to take the pounding and he is 30-40 lbs heavier.

Some Melo critics state that Melo doesn't have what it takes to win a championship, but when in reality...

Steve Nash.
Chris Paul.
Derrick Rose.
Deron Williams.
Russell Westbrook.
Kevin Durant.
Blake Griffin.
Kevin Love.
Dwight Howard.

Have never won an NBA championship either. So, if Melo doesn't have what it takes to win a championship, I guess neither do these guys; because Melo without question belongs.

LeBron James has been known as the greatest basketball player on planet earth, but yet, just won his first ring last season (but needed the help of bosh Wade and Bosh in order to do so). Melo's only in his 10 season. Why do I mention this? Because it took the greatest Center of the 90's in Hakeem Olajuwon 10 NBA seasons before winning his first ring. It took one of the all-time greats at the PF position in Dirk Nowitzki 13 NBA seasons before winning his first (and only) ring. It also took Kevin Garnett 13 NBA seasons before winning his first (and only) NBA title after teaming up with both Paul Pierce and Ray Allen. Jason Kidd is not only one of the greatest PG's of all time, but one of the greatest all around baksebtall players of all-time, but yet, it still took Jason Kidd himself 17 long years before winning his first (of hopefully) two rings.

In closing? Melo's game is elite. Without question too. Melo will go down as one of the greatest pure scorers of all-time. Currently on pace to finish top 5 all-time in NBA scoring. But yet, these Melo critics will point to his first round failures and/or postseason exits with Denver as proof that he'll "never win an NBA championship". Four of Melo's first round exits were against the likes of the Lakers (x2) and the Spurs (x2). Nothing to be ashamed about in regards to Melo. He earned valuable postseason experience against all-time great NBA dynasties ala the Lakers and Spurs of the 2000's. Both were dynasty teams before Melo was ever drafted into the league. Both Duncan and Bryant hosted two NBA championships before Melo stepped foot on an NBA court. Bring up Melo's first round exit's again (critics) and I'll laugh in your face.

Learn about the history of the game before criticizing and/or harping over a great NBA talent.

You can no longer mention the likes of Steve Nash, Chris Paul, Derrick Rose, Deron Williams, Russell Westbrook, Kevin Durant, Blake Griffin, Kevin Love and/or Dwight Howard without also mentioning the name of CARMELO ANTHONY. I wonder how much failure the likes of LeBron, Bosh, Hakeem, Dirk, Pierce, Ray Allen and/or Kidd had to endure before finally winning that NBA CHAMPIONSHIP...

Funny that you can flip this around the other way and make the same argument. Ever consider that?

When the team wins it's because Melo's teammates stepped up. When the Knicks lose it's becuase Melo didn't step up. Sounds like a familiar argument.

JKidd is the sole reason for all wins.

(I love Kidd though and the knicks are a far better/smarter team with him)
