It already has become that.

is the "he" supposed to be a "who"?
knickscity wrote:so if Felton stops shooting he takes those shots?
I'm assuming you meant who takes those shots. My answer would be literally anyone else on the roster. For some perspective Felton is taking 16.3 shots/game while shooting 40.1%; Chris Paul has never shot more than 16.1 shots/game and he shot 48.8% and 50.3% both years; Steve Nash has never taken more than 13.6 shots/game and he shot 46.5% that season; last season the bloom came off the rose of Deron Williams when took 17.5 shots/game and shot 40.7%; Tony Parker, a shoot first PG, took 17.5 shots/game one year and shot 50.6% and last season he took the second most shots in his career at 14.8 and shot 48%.
This year Felton is playing more like Marbury and Steve Francis. For their careers they took 15.7 and 14.4 shots/game while shootig 43.3% and 42.9% respectively. What we need from Felton is for him to start playing more like Derek Fisher, a guy who shot 40% for his career but only averaged more than 10 shots/game twice when he took 10.2 and 10.8 shots/game in each of his two years with the Warriors.

anyone on the roster? he's got two starter shooter 43 and 38% and a sixth man shooting 41.
Even Novak is somewhere around 41-42.
I know it's easy to say Felton isn't shooting well, it's true on that, but really there is hardly anyone shooting well right now.

Yeah, anyone! He's the least efficient scorer on the roster. He should be taking closer to 7 to 9 shots a game - just when he's wide open.
Tyson has been inconsistent all year. There seems to be more flu-tyson games than Tyson-Bot. It gets worse when his hands catches the flu too.

There are 3 players on the roster shooting worse than Felton at 40.1%. Brewer's shooing 38.9%; Sheed is shooting 38.8% and is sitting on the bench; and Marcus Camby is 1-7 on the season. Meanwhile, Melo, Copeland, Kidd, and Novak are all shooting better from 3 than Felton is overall.

Exactly. His last year in Charlotte he averaged 12 ppg on 10 shots/game while shooting 45%. All the analysts and writers were talking about what a steal he was and he was secretly really good and was a real leader on the floor. No one says that about Felton now that he puts up shots like he's Iverson.

I don't think many here see Felton as a guy that doesn't have flaws. However, I think you have to consider and hope that this is related to bone bruises on each of his hands and his pinky injury.

Unless his head was also bruised, it doesn't make sense.

Not at all. His poor shooting can be explained away by his injuries but it doesn't explain why he's shooting so often. He's gone from 14.2 shots in November to 19 shots in December.
Makes perfect sense to me, he is being told to shoot the ball.
And honestly 39 40 42 43 is all terrible in the same boat from the field, so his option aren't exactly doing much better.

Felton shot 26.3%, 5-19, from the field today. That's not even in the same ocean.

There was alot of bad shooting today. Regardless, he is being told to shoot.
The best thing that can happen to us is for Felton to sit for a week and for Pablo to play well. Felton needs some kind of pressure. The more I see Felton the more I miss Lin.
Once amare returns that will add balance to the floor and allow an out if the pick and roll is shut down by Noah.
Boozer can't contain amare.
if felton is injured he needs to sit because he has been hurting the team lately. I mean forget his horrible shooting he doesnt pass the ball too well right now. pablo kidd and even jr can manage the game better than ray right now. Also his defense isnt great. steve nash who is 10 years older blew by him. Yes i like his toughness but at the same time im not gonna cut him slack because he has some weaknesses as a point guard.
Felton definitely needs to sit a game or 2 at this point, those bruises aren't just going to go away.
Start Pablo against Phoenix.
ChuckBuck wrote:Felton definitely needs to sit a game or 2 at this point, those bruises aren't just going to go away.Start Pablo against Phoenix.
Good Point chuck we can afford to sit felton against the Suns/Kings and then we have a few days off so by then hopefully felton will be healthier in time for amare's return
He should sit until his hands and head are healed.
Feltons bruises are a BS excuse unless those bruises were there his whole career.
