I agree, size is over rated at the PG position unless it comes extreme athleticism/speed to go with it
He just isn't the same build as Vazquez and def not Westbrook
Calderon is probably his highest ceiling if he develops while he is more likely to be unable to translate to a NBA starter material

At the PG positoin, as a measure of success...
speed/quickness to go with athleticism, BB IQ, handle, ability to penetrate/finish, translates to the NBA game much better, some things I see when I look at Pierre Jackson

6. Nerlens Noels--best defensive player in the draft needs a lot of work on the offensive end.

7. Nate Wolters---maybe the best PG prospect in the draft--only held back by some athletic ability issues and wingspan. Plays at his own pace and is a really good passer--will be a better pro PG from a passing standpoint than his shoot first need at SD I could easily move him past McCollum if there wasnt a difference in athletic ability.

8. Cody Zeller--not a 5 which to me knocks him down to late top 10. I see him as a 4 with good skills--his he tough enough against brute nBA 4's? Should be a solid pick here.

9. Doug McDermott- Under rated Plays like a Wally Sczerbiak clone in and out.

10.Anthony Bennett-- A little Zach Randolph a little Paul Millsap== lottery pick.

Agree. Most big point guards usually turn out to be shooting guards with solid handles who haven't really learned to play off the ball yet.

This isn't the first time I've diagreed with you on the first overall pick (the last time I said Rose should be first overall over and above Beasley). The first overall this year is clearly Ben McLemore. Shabazz is a great blue chip prospect but give me Ben every day of the week and twice on Sundays

I didnt see Mclemore until later that week and added him to the lottery. Id still take Shabazz. He's got the chance to be a 25 point scorer in the NBA. This draft is pretty weak--there is no sure prize at number 1. Cody Zeller has really good fundamentals for a big man--he's got better post moves and ball handling ability than most young big players for quiet some time but he also is not a sure thing--his last two games have been scary bad as well. You would think that it would be almost impossible for a possible # 1 pick standing 6-11 could score 2 baskets total in two straight games. The bottom line is this draft is weak as weak as I can remember. If I had a high draft pick and Shabazz and Mcelmore were gone--Id trade down to get that center from Gonzaga.

I'll agree with you that Cody Zeller is top 3. I'm not knocking you for putting together a list in January and it being incomplete... I really like your 'top 11'. I'm just saying that I like McLemore first overall. I think he has a chance to be special. Last time I said that was after I saw Rose play at Tulane. McLemore is a lot stronger than he looks.

He's the kind of player--maybe like an Andre Drummond who gets picked much lower than maybe he should. It's hard to watch a lot of games and see all of the guys--and then hope you also see him on a great night right?? just going back in time I found many guys looking at something else--like Jeremy Lin Chris Kaman etc.. this is an unusual player because hes close to 6-9 with very long arms yet hes got skills to play PG.

He will go this year then... Blake Griffin was the last guy I could remember that stuck around that was good enough to declare after his freshman year

Just in general, I really think the Knicks should look to draft a SG. If you look at the ages of the starting two guards in the NBA, it looks like there will be plenty of opportunity after some of the bigger names retire. Looks like there are good SG propsects in this year's draft

I actually really like Tim Hardaway Jr... Mich is #1 for the first time since the Fab 5... he can play and nbadraft.net projects us picking him at that spot. I would do that in a heartbeat and would do backflips if that happened

Hey I'm new here but I was reading through this post and thought I'd throw Peyton siva's name out there... I saw him live as a freshman an the kid has only improved and is as athletic as they come... Just wondering what you guys think

I have to disagree with you big time on Kyle. The dude isn't athletic enough to play PG in college, forget about the NBA. He could play some point forward, like Boris Diaw. He's a legit late first rounder, who would better served staying an extra year.

He reminds me of the kid in Philly that went to OSU or a bigger/more developed Parsons at the same age.

I'm a fan of withey from Kansas and dieng from Louisville. I just feel like they are nba ready big men who will be good backup centers in the league and won't be drafted high because of age and perceived lack of upside. Those are guys who can fill a role right away and have nba skills with elite defense and rebounding. These type of players slip thru the cracks and become good rotation players for a long time.
