Hes going to go a lot higher than early round 2. He's a pretty exciting player who plays vicious D.

I might be wrong but the three best players I have seen this year in terms of impact in the NBA were the C for Gonzaga(he honestly look like a version of Pau Gasol--not a true NBA 5 but a 4-5 who is more of a mobile 4. I thought he was the best offensive big man I have seen) on the flip side I think Noel is better than Davis from last year on the D and I think he could end up a better player and he might go number 1. Lastly and I think I had him numnber 2 in my original was Austin from Baylor. He's still abit away but again he's got a lot of talent and hes 7-1 he's one of the best rebounders in this draft NBA wise and hes NO where near a finished product yet and has so much offensive potential. I think for teams who want bigs this draft is very decent--if youre looking for a superstar PG in the top 5 youre not going to find it. Mclemore is like a Derozan type player with a better jumpshot. Shabazz could go anywhere from 1-7 depending on what he shows down the stretch. There are some really good players but no definite number 1 pick. I think Oldipido will do well in solo workouts---almost like a Gerald Wilkins but he can shoot better thanh GW did at the same time. The guy I have liked la year and will not change my opinion on and is my number 1 pick for where we are 24-30??? is Nate Wolters. Hes got some Walt Frazier in him. If he was not white, hed be listed higher.

Am i missing something... I mention Peyton Siva earlier and nobody responded. So i looked a little more around the web and can find nothing but some amazing video and highlights. He seems to be unbelievably athletic and extremely quick/fast. I even looked at some mock draft and although its a bit premature his name wasnt even mentioned. Just wondering if everyone knows something that i dont but hes putting up some pretty decent numbers on a very offensively challenged louisville team

I had a similar view regarding Oladipo -- in terms of him transitioning to the point in the pro's.

He doesn't have great size for a SG but he does for a PG and can definitely defend the point. His first inclination is to get into the paint off the dribble and his second is to pass. If you watch him closely he really uses the bounce pass alot. I could definitely see him as a combo PG/SG that comes off the bench depending on match-ups and wreaks havoc.

He is very unselfish and his handle, passing make me think he can transition to the point.

I loved Siva when I saw him either last year -- not sure if he is a soph or junior.

But I have watched him 2X the past few weeks and I haven't been as impressed. He looks rather small and with a limited offensive game and making some bonehead plays. I was actually more impressed with Wil Smith -- who is a small and a scorer but he is an ultra explosive athlete. At the NBA level -- I'd almost take the chance on the better athlete.

Siva is a good player hes quick and he has some nice explosion. He's a senior. His jumpshot for a 6-0 guy is not on the NBA level(take for example his two games recently against Pitt and Gtown). I think he could be a late 2nd rounder who has the ability to improve his stock in Portsmouth and workouts. Both Smith and Siva are really quick.

Thanks for your opinions. I know hes lacking in some areas but he seems to be very raw but also very talented anyway we could sign him if he goes undrafted to the Dleague team?

By the way I would take Smith over Siva. Not really a PG but he has to be one of the fastest players in the NBA with the best body control. Problem is that there are not many 6-0 165 2 Gs in the NBA. Maybe like a Lou Williams but not as good as shooter but better defender. I still like Nate Wolters over anyone down by 25-27 I think with J Kidd there--he could be a mentor for him and wed have a PG set for the next cycle when this is over.

Has a VERY quick first step, ability to penetrate/speed/quickness/athleticism, and all the other trait's you would NOT want in a combo guard like inconsistent shot/questionable IQ/can be TO prone/not great size at the SG/not enough handle/ability to create at the PG

Theres going to be players that are picked down by us---25-28 that will be just as good as players picked in the top 10 or so. I think the draft is shaping to be better than anticipated. There is no SURE # 1 although there are many good players up there. But we should find a nice pick. One thing with the Spurs and Oklahoma is they have used the draft to rebuild players for the next phase of their teams. One possibility with the Knicks is a 2-3 year great run and then a crash and burn.

im not sold on Oladipo even though hes so fun to watch...small size + no jumper + no passing IQ = good college career/border line pro

the key to all these small guards, is not quickness and speed...its can you SHOOT?...thats why im not sure about Siva, Shabazz or Oladipo. Russ Smith may have a chance though

im a big McLemore fan...i think hes B.Beal 2.0...austin is TOO raw and will be the typical example of a kid who should stay in school. Instead he'll be drafted as a lottery pick...waste away while he gains weight. By the time, hes NBA ready hell be a free agent ready to leave the lottery team and make $$$.

In this draft I think youre drafting role players not franchise players.

Not saying its true or not true...i just hate to bring up anything regarding race, religion or politics. It takes the fun outta things. You get the benefit of doubt because youre a good poster and im sure you didnt mean anything by it. It just struck a cord with me. FYI i know NOTHING about wolters so i have no comment

I would love a top rebounder.

I wanted Kenneth Faried during the entire offseason due to the simple fact he led the entire Nation in boards heading into the draft. I loved the drafting of Shumpert at 17, just bad luck in regards to Shump getting hurt but Denver landed the steal of the draft with Kenneth Faried 22nd overall. He's already ranked 10th overall amongst all NBA players in boards off the glass during only his second NBA season.

Anyone like Jack Cooley from Notre Dame? A 6'9/246 PF. Currently averaging 14.8 points and 11.3 rebounds per game. Cooley ranks 5th in the nation in rebounding with 11.3 boards per game and also ranks first amongst all players in rebounds per 40 minutes (14.9 per 40M).

Although I can't find this kid listed on any mock drafts, I love watching Jack Cooley play the game of basketball. He's a senior who's not only been developed over the years, but been developed into one of the strongest rebounders in the Nation here in 2012-2013. Top 25 team. Leads ND in Points, Rebounds and blocks per game.

Briggs, I love your insight in regards to college basketball, but what are your thoughts on Jack Cooley who not only leads his ND team (ranked 25th overall) in points, rebounds and blocks per game but also ranks 5th amongst all NCAA players in rebounds at 11.3 per game and leads the entire Nation in boards with 14.9 per 40 minutes.
