Toronto has young legs and didn't just roll over. I dont understand all the doom and gloom it was one game.
folks seem to be worried off the past 25 games. 19-6 in the first 25 vs 13-12 in the past 25. the stretch run is coming, and what will they be like.
30+ wins used to be a year long struggle to reach, and thats been the case for 10+ years. nice to be where they are and its hard to see that, so it seems.
Agree. Also, despite recent struggles Woodson is the fastest coach to 50 wins in franchise history.
He was probably fastest coach to 50 wins in Atlanta Hawks history too
Look at his early records. He was probably the fastest coach to 50 losses in Atlanta.
If you do please make sure to not look at his Playoff record and results...black it out
MOST OVERRATED FATHER FIGURE IN THE HISTORY OF THE NBA
yeah that about sums it up for me too. getting annihilated in the playoffs was a huge red flag for me. he may have gone too far ingratiating himself with carmelo. the situation is starting to congeal into dinglebury part 5.
i pray the entire team heals and the coach and his players agree to rededicate themselves to playing the right way which means a massive amount of energy playing defense.
Imagine winning only one game against the world champs with Toney Douglas and Mike Bibby as your point guards, an ill Chandler, and a busted up Amare. Where is Mike Bibby playing now?
What's so bad about Woodson's playoff record? His teams were completely out-matched in all of the playoff series he lost.

it's not that they got swept it's HOW they got swept. all 8 games can be considered blowouts.
this does not reflect well on woodson. at all.

Yeah because we know all dedicated fans such as yourself saw no other way to improve the team other than to continue the STARFUDGE GIMMICK. Yep those Knicks were going to stay 28-26 or 29-27 or 30-28 all the way to 42-40, season after season...... because no moves to improve the team would have been made.

He didn't get swept as the Knick coach. His roster was undermanned. He didn't have any real backcourt players other than Smith and he was playing the champs.

And if he loses this year it will be because Sheed/Camby/Kidd/Shump aren't 100% Woodson and Melo eternally tied to built in excuses.

Not sure what your getting at. If you are saying the Melo trade destroyed the teams date with greatness then I disagree. I was not a fan of the trade at the time but I have changed my stance since. Also, the Knicks were going nowhere with D'Antoni as the coach so yeah I didn't see any improvement until he decided to move on. I am really glad he has taken his shennanigans to LA.

Because he was completely out-matched.
It's not easy to beat Lebron James, and Dwight Howard in the playoffs.

blowouts mean that the collective will of the team-- the desire to compete-- is broken and that is on the coach every time.
the same phenomenon-- the desire to compete-- has already crept in here this season. this cannot be denied and is reason for concern.
your excuses add up to one thing: first round series wins are no achievement since they reward mediocrity.

I agree with a caveat. You have to consider the circumstances of the situation. Whether you are recommending stats that you think Melo should put up or talking about playoff wins and losses, the game and who is on the floor plays a role on what is going to happen.

You may be right but when talking about last year's playoffs I dont think it applies. With all the injuries we had, that team would have still lost if they had all the desire in the world.

Perhaps Woody should get fire for how the knicks are playing tonight against the Cats?

I really want to know why he feels the need to double team Biyombo everytime he touches the ball like he was Lebron. Two passes out of the double team allowed the bobcats to get open shots and dunks.
