He's in control of minutes, not the way guys are playing on the court.
Didn't you all see Amare and Melo laughing in the bench when the refs called foul on Kurt Thomas?
This is why we need vets on the court like Sheed and Camby to get those two in line with being professional.

I know you guys hate to hear it, but you have to face it after last night debacle.
This team goes in the direction Melo goes, when he played consistent on both ends of the court....the team won. He's the real coach behind the scenes and nobody is talking about it , but George Karl. Melo got no votes for the lack of ball movement, but George Karl got two....go figure.
There was one play that bothered me the most about last nights game. It was early 1st quarter. Melo jacks up a three and misses back tap and ball is back in Melo's hand after missing a three you would think he would go to the rack but what does he do, he jacks another three. No plays run, I mean you got a full shot clock. There is this crazy stat with the Knicks that when they hit 11+ threes they have a ridiculous record but when they don't they almost always lose. Talk about living a dying by the three.
I know exactly what play you are talking about. When it happened it set the ton in my mind. They went on to trail by 40
You guys are looking at that stat the wrong way. You have to ask yourself WHY they hit so many 3's. They were moving the ball and forcing teams to defend more of the floor. This ball and Player movement caused breakdowns on D for other teams and that meant wide open shots. It's the end result of good BB. You can jack up bad 3's and win on luck, but not consistently. If you're winning taking 3's that come as a result of great offensive execution, then you will win, cuz you'll also create more spacing for PnR at the basket and ISO's. That's the entire point of spreading the floor and taking 3's. To open up the paint area for high % attempts.
Plenty of ball movement when Woodson threw in the towel. Not sure if prigs could start a long with Felton but the ball moves when he is on the court.

This is what I saw early on Crushalot, and started threads about Prigs just needs a chance.
Prigs has no hidden agenda playing the point guard position he has no vendetta against opposing pg in the league.
This is why two not one pg is needed on the court at all time with these misdirected players we have on our roster.
A coach can only do so much, we have to get back to moving the ball more to create open shots, because everybody can't create their own shot but Felton , J.R and Melo.

+1
This is the game plan blueprint for this roster, but the best player(s) has to consistently buy into it.

Scrubs tend to follow the script. It's part of why the Knicks looked good during Linsanity. None of those guys plays hero ball. They pass the ball and move and actually hustle. If the top rotation guys were doing those things they'd be winning. It's all about effort and execution and playing SELFLESS BB. Guys have to buy into the TEAM game they had to start the year. The MAX effort they had to start the year. Stop believing their own hype!
You guys also reminded me of something I noticed as well. All of a sudden when the scrubs came in, you saw ball pressure too. Why don't the Knicks start games like that? Woody has taken his foot off the players necks! He's allowed them to relax and that is part of the problem. I know it's a long season, but he's softened his approach and you can see it.

Thats what I saw too. Very disappointing

He was their coach in the beginning and forgot this isn't Red Holzman era where players were more professional. Jason Kidd extended Woody's philosophy on the court, but now our best player not buying into it. Kidd shot his load when he set the standard early on with Prigioni. This is also when Felton, Melo and J.R bought in early on .
We need veterans 35 or over on the court to babysit out two highest paid players it's really that simple. This is why knicks brass went with the older players , to keep those knuckleheads in line.

We all see this I mentioned this a while ago that Woody has been giving wiggle room to the players to lose games. I started a thread based on Woody being ok with losing. Saying stuff like we want the division. Your not suppose to say that especially when they had the best record in the conference at the time. "We're not worried about about that stuff we just want to win our division". As soon as I heard his quote I started a thread saying that losing is acceptable to the Knicks. He gave his players an out and you know what 9 times out of 10 players will take the out.

Whats even more annoying is that hes only giving wiggle room to certain players. Woodsons talking about how Shump needs to watch film yet doesnt say a word about JR. I dont know if hes lost the team (I dont think he has) but if he did his favoritism would have to be the root of it.
Also, it was pretty bad seeing him storm out of the post game interview when someone asked him about making changes to the starting lineup.
The only way this team forcibly goes back to playing the right way is if the players got less in their paycheck each week for having less total assist than their opponents if they lost the game.
