No that guy was drafted by the wizards. This James has been around for awhile.

I think you mean Chris Singleton, that was the guy Melo just torched from Washington.
The Knicks are close to a deal with free-agent forward James Singleton, Frank Isola of the New York Daily News reports.Singleton spent the season playing in China. His pending signing means the Knicks will have to cut someone, which Isola speculates is likely injured big man Kurt Thomas. Neither player has any fantasy value so this news shouldn't affect your league in the slightest. Apr 10 - 6:52 PM

You are thinking of Chris Singleton. Lol.
yikes! i apologize. youre right!...smh
James was drafted by the Clippers but played for DC the last two years. I do not know about his offense and he seems undersized but hopefully he can play D and on O just get fouled a lot. He might not shoot that many FTs but dang he makes him when he gets to the line.
This article is from 2010 but gives some insight into Singleton. He sounds like a Woodson guy.
The Wizards had some interest in bringing back Singleton, an undersized but energetic, high-flying forward who averaged 6.1 points and 6.9 rebounds in 32 games -- including three starts -- after arriving in Washington. Singleton had seven games with at least 10 rebounds, including a career-high 21-rebounds in a loss to Indiana last March. But Singleton said the Wizards were like several NBA teams that expressed interest in signing him to the league minimum. He wouldn't give the terms of the deal but hinted that his contract in China was much more lucrative.
"Playing with the Wizards was a great experience," Singleton said when reached by phone. "They gave me a chance to play because of my talent and work ethic, and not sit behind a name. I'm going back overseas to play basketball because of my passion, not the pay or the fame. Overseas, they allow players to play, grow and mature."
Singleton was undrafted out of Murray State in 2003, but worked his way into the league, spending two seasons in Italy before joining the Los Angeles Clippers. After two seasons with the Clippers, Singleton returned to Spain for another year before signing with Dallas. He said that the NBA is "a business" and that a number of factors outside of basketball often contribute to which players get an opportunity to shine.
"I've seen and experienced just about everything the NBA can offer. I'm blessed cause I was able to partake in it," Singleton said, "Some guys would love to just make it there, ride the bench and get paid. I'm not that guy. I want to play. I didn't work hard all these years just to sit and watch other people. I was given a true talent, but sitting around and being a cheerleader isn't one of them."
Xinjiang finished second in the Chinese Basketball Association last season.

If Isola is correct in saying that the Knicks waived Kurt I hope they find away to bring him back like they did when they traded Herb.
James Singleton is kind of like a Kenyon Martin type. Hes very bouncy but hes got more range. Good signing by the Knicks. Hell be able to contribute and help tomorrow.
good pick up, would still like to add Hakim Warrick as well though
I liked him as a FA and I think he is a solid player that knows his role, basically same skillset as Kurt Thomas with the 12 footer but is younger and more mobile
Would not be surprised if there is a team option for year that we can use in addition to White's to add salary in the summer
It just...feels wrong cutting Kurt...

Hakim was on the Bobcats this year. I dont think hes eligible and Singleton is the superior rebounder. If he can play for us like he did for Washington last year ---that would be great.

they did not want to and are holded out until all of our injuries amounted where we might not even have a healthy 9 man roster to do so
I don't Kurt can understand with his injury that it wasn't something they wanted to do but had their hand forced with the injuries on top of the health of many other players
We need players that can play while we are contenders
With that said, I would have cut Kurt in January maybe Nov/Sept LOL

LOL so would I
Well at least he went out like a warrior. That Utah game was what started this streak.
what is woody going to do when all these guys get healthy ?
I just read amare could be back in 2 weeks, and rasheed is doing light shooting, and he could be back at the same time

I think Singleton might be a placeholder until the playoffs. Woodys got his rotations set.

Didn't Amare take a lot longer to come back the last time. I was under the impression he was most likely done for the season.

Amare's a great scorer but for the past 2 years the team has consistently looked much better whenever he's off the court.

I like his post up game but I think he would be a lot harder to integrate then Sheed, Singleton or Camby.
