This is my reason for Karl:
he does not have a superstar,
to my mind, Woodson cannot win coach of year because he has a superstar,
teams with superstars HAVE to win 50 games, at least, this is the minimum,
but Karl took a team of rag tag role players and made them into something like 54 or 55 game winners in the WESTERN conference, not even the Eastern,
at the same time, i am rooting for Woody, but i don't think he has a shot
So you disqualify every coach that has a superstar?
i should have been more clear,
if you have a superstar, then your minimum win total for consideration is 60 wins
You said 50 games was the minimum in your original post
that's why i said i should have been more clear,
teams with superstars HAVE to win 50 games, minimum,
but for coach of the year honors, they need to win 60 games.
Spo is the coach of the year without a doubt and shouldn't be punished for having a team that can't play above expectations. The disparity between the heat and everyone else is too great to pick someone else.
Karl, Brooks and Pop get honorable mention.
Woodson is the next best candidate after those guys.

So for a team like Miami with 2 what are the minimum games?
I don't think coaching in ny and the extra pressure should be consideration for COY.
THats just homer talk.
If its harder, he gets compensated for it.
